    He ran a workshop for Globe members (ordinary people, not actors) about a year after he started running The Globe. I booked with a friend and it was wonderful. I knew his work from the RSC and the Globe. He was brilliant. Welcomed everyone personally, and what a teacher. He put us at ease so well, everyone pitched in. Incredible

    Mark Rylance is such a wonderful Shakespearian actor but also his non Shakespearian work is so brilliant. I aim to watch everything he does. I will add that he shouldn’t be criticised for wearing
    baseball caps ! 😅 He’s many peoples favourite actor, for certain.

    This is a man with no pretences, airs or graces.
    Totally down to earth, so he was the ideal choice to play "Maurice Flitcroft", in "The Phantom of the Open".
    Playing it strait to great comedic effect with a great supporting cast as his family.

    God it's wonderful to listen to an actor who's studied, and who knows WHAT he's doing but also WHY he's doing it, and can give insights like these using the things he's learned. What a teacher he must be.

    Mark Rylance and Anton Lesser both have such soft, beautiful, eloquent voices that I could listen to these two great British actors all day. They were both brilliant in Wolf Hall, I strongly recommend it to anyone that's not yet seen it.

    A question about acting unfolds with pathos and humor into an erudite prose poem on language, manner vs matter, and the meaning of life. Excellent, and thank you for sharing. I'm guessing very little work would be needed to translate this conversation into a self-sufficient work of art, sort of in the style of My Dinner with Andre.

      +Randy Huther Please. Must you liken this enlightening, stimulating conversation to that over-discussed sleeping pill My Dinner with Andre? Such a reduction of content does a great disservice to the eloquence and insight of Mr. Rylance.

      @randyhuther1896 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +TheChannel.TV - Well met, sirrah! I'd be happy to read/watch/listen to your artistic work, which must be refined stuff indeed, seeing as you spit out My Dinner with Andre like so much boxed wine. In lieu of that, any essays or critiques you've written proving that the film is artistic snake oil would also suffice. Until then, be well, sirrah.

    I refuse to take seriously anyone who wears a baseball cap indoors. Mind you he is a good actor he can speak bollocks and make it sound plausible.

      Mark's dress sense is more or less absent. So was Beethoven's. I suppose you do not take HIS music seriously? I suggest you are finding feeble excuses for rejecting what is outside your intellectual comfort zone.
