Door Review 16:05 The glorious door-to-ramp. This door is so crazy it left me speechless, can't even imagine a door could do that. Sadly the panel is sticking out from the frame a little bit, it's cool but it's not fully open so I have to deduct points. 9.8/10 30:03 This one is a bit underwhelming compared to the first door. The first half of panel opening is kinda weird? Not sure how each part become thinner and they're just sitting next to each other, lack of locking mechanism. The second part (after ramp appears), however, that just keep on and on expanding is not bad. Wide Boi 6.3/10 38:57 Simple yet elegant. I really love the way each part contract to the middle lock satisfyingly snap apart. Quick and straight to the other side. 9.5/10 1:09:55 This is literally the same door as #2 but not green mist. 6.2/10 1:14:15 Ew flesh door. That little light startup is nice but I don't like the twitch when it open. Also the shape. 4.3/10 1:31:23 Holy shit a triple door. This give me the same vibe as #3 door but with some asymmetry open mechanism. As much as I like this one, it's just inefficient. Why make extra passage for balls dog when we could all go together, in one big door. Also some part sticking out of the frame, that is dangerous. 8.5/10 2:08:28 Circular mech door. This one is so over the top with slow moving part and retracting pillar in the middle. The panel folding instead of just shrinking away is really cool as well. Where did the spine go tho. 9/10 2:39:16 A DOOR to PORTAL??? I don't even know this is a door at first glance. An interesting alien-goop-infuesd frame open a portal with triangle, which we all know that is a strongest shape. 10/10 3:08:46 The same as last door but I'll give an extra point because I like green. 10.1/10 3:25:55 Another circular door, straight-up upgrade from #2 and #4. Love it's step-opening sequence but overall noting too spacial. 8.2/10 3:32:32 Portal door again. It's getting repetitive at this point. Orange is whatever. 9.6/10
What about #10 part 2, where it opens after he properly nests the orbs within each other? I thought the giant boss statue opening into a door was kinda cool...
@@crackerjaq9974 dope ass animation but you can clearly see the hole between each "arms", meaning it's not properly closed and thus failing a basic principle of being a working door. Although our moth guy can't go through, if you have this as your front door I'm sure other moth will be able to go in.
For real. Tyler really showed that has basically no video game instincts in this stream. Repeatedly missing super basic game design language like "things that use the same mechanic are often color coded" and "if the boss plays an animation, assume it's bad"
Something I noticed is that the purple orb had a whole section teaching you how to use it. Only to use it once later to make the purple Saturn. After that you just explore the purple world and never use it again. I kept thinking they would upgrade the other orbs to have the purple power to cut down on all the walking. You don’t need to force the player to gather all 4 orbs on a platform when you can just summon them all back later. The purple orb summoners were even colored! Edit: thinking about it. The recursion mechanism in the green world at the end would have made so much more sense with the purple orb. You summon the purple inside the purple and bam. Time to find an exit portal again. Purple was a little underused.
I noticed the same thing ! I was expecting purple puzzles at the end; finale zone where you need to solve using all spheres. Never came. My guess is that they tried but it got too complicated so they cut it.
I can't believe I missed an opportunity to watch Tyler live! Time to watch 3 and a half hours of gameplay afterwards though :) Like a week worth of videos in one day- I'm not complaining.
I guess I'm either more forgiving with the amount of walking, or it's a huge help to play this in a few sittings. I was only starting to get tired of back tracking a little by the time the game wrapped up.
While the walking annoyed me too when I played the game, the recursion was so cool to me that it completely made me forget how tedious the walking was. It seems the game really wasn't made for puzzle game enthusiasts, but for a more casual audience, for whom the easier puzzles at the beginning help ease them into it, and the nesting and recursion in the end has a much bigger impact.
This was a great format for adventure puzzle games that wouldn't suit the normal episodic style. Another game that would be great like this is Tunic, very similar style if a little more combat focused.
Questionable. A lot more people are willing to watch a 20 minutes video rather than a 3,5 hours long unedited one. But, at least, this one was easier to produce.
Watched half an hour of this video, went to buy the game, finished it to 100% in 5 hours and then came back to finish this vid and see what I missed. The game left me wanting more, real shame it's so short.
Oh man, I started this up not looking at the run time and I was not ready for a 3.5-hour-long video. I'm excited but will have to set some time aside for this one. What a nice surprise!
I completely understand Tyler's frustrations with this game, but I personally feel he was a little too harsh on it. To me, this game was not just about puzzles, but also about learning how this world works and getting to look at incredible visuals. The longer walking segments would allow the player to really take in the environment (as well as give them a break, as Tyler mentions). I absolutely agree that it isn't perfect though. There are certain segments that would have benefited from shorter walking segments, or hell, even just a sprint button would've done wonders. For me, the experience was worth the tedium (for the most part), but it's not hard to see why some people like Tyler would hate that. My rating would be a 6 or a 7, but less walking/a sprint button would easily make it an 8, maybe even 9.
was fun to watch, i def understand frustrations with walking (although i personally dont mind, atleast the longer walks in new areas, shortish walks back and forth in the same place did feel a bit boring) although it was a bit sad when u insulted the game for having an orange platform "off the screen" when there was one on screen, and the one off screen that you said was unfair, you had walked past atleast a few times before, was actually a bit suprised it took you that long to put orange in white since i think you couldve done it way before, although you didnt need to yet, i guess those platform ends blended in too much?
At 2:04:17, after getting the three Saturns for the first time, what happens if Tyler were to go back into the purple zone and pick up an orb-fruit? would the purple saturn self destruct? would he get two purple orbs? I really want to know
The fruit all disappear and don't respawn in that area as soon as you get the purple Saturn, sadly. You can see as he glides back with the purple orb that all of the fruit begin to decay

I find it odd that Tyler keep calling this an open world game even though it's bluntly a linear game. I mean sure the set pieces are large and there are the hidden collectibles but it ain't no where near what a open world game would have.

I love how at the end he thinks the puzzle design was slipping a bit, me being like…. No? I’m surprised you played this game. You usually like more brain busting puzzles and this game is like inside where the puzzles aren’t challenging they’re nice relaxing ones, aimed more for the general gaming demographic who don’t play very tough puzzle games. It’s kind of funny because you’re doing what my criticism for this game was, but more I guess (it’s the best way I can describe it) I wish they had like one or two big puzzles at the end with all 4 orbs, feels kind of like purple was left out of the harder orb puzzle club. Also at 3:08:30 if there is a better way of doing it say it don’t say it’s bad. This is what I don’t like about criticism these days, people say something is bad without saying how people can do something better
The puzzles themselves were perfectly good in a vacuum, but they were then ruined by the excessive amount of walking you'd have to do during them. There's no way that the "general gaming demographic" actually enjoys that much walking, right? For 3:08:30, the easiest way to make it better would be to have two orb holders on the moving bridge instead of one, but even then, there's probably a faster way to do it.

@showd6229 I think aliensrock probably would've given this a higher rating if it wasn't all completed in one sitting. I mean, it's bearable to go through it alone and in snippets, but when you know that others are watching, it just adds that little bit more uneasiness to the situation.. Like if you find it tedious to actively engage with the game, you know that others are finding it even more tedious to innactively be engaged with the game. And at the end of the day, Tyler puts a lot of effort into making engaging content, which I feel may have had a bit of an unfair impact on how he rated the game from an objective standpoint. All in all though, I enjoyed it and am happy to have watched it.
Damn, I guess Tyler really, really, really hates exploration huh. Also cool environments seem kinda lost on him too. Honestly, I can't understand why he doesn't prefer the "get me to a puzzle with one click" games, as they effectively remove any kind of exploring or traveling
You gave the game a certain rating at the end of the game, but I'm very curious as to what you would have rated the game should there have been a sped up mobility option like low to the ground flight that was not available in fights? I'm ommiting the actual rating as to not spoil it for people who have not yet watched the video.
@@Aliensrock lmao that reveals that the score is lesser than 8 because you have the ability to give 2 or 3 more points (and the rating is probably not 10)

Damn, I guess Tyler really, really, really hates exploration huh. Also cool environments seem kinda lost on him too. Honestly, I can't understand why he doesn't prefer the "get me to a puzzle with one click" games, as they effectively remove any kind of exploring or traveling
Today I watched Tyler ram into dead ends for 3 hours
I hope the editors use the walking montage music in future videos.
Thank you God for editing this video, amen 🙏
You gave the game a certain rating at the end of the game, but I'm very curious as to what you would have rated the game should there have been a sped up mobility option like low to the ground flight that was not available in fights? I'm ommiting the actual rating as to not spoil it for people who have not yet watched the video.
I think the time spent walking took a major hit to my score, I'd probably give 2 or 3 more points if movement was somehow faster and more fun.
@@Aliensrock lmao that reveals that the score is lesser than 8 because you have the ability to give 2 or 3 more points (and the rating is probably not 10)
That's Tyler's Arabic for me at 2:41:01
"cocoon"always remind me cocoon city in japan :p
Watched the first 18 mins and I sadly have to leave cause I now wanna get this game and play it without spoilers
