I have lost everyone including my darling husband and I have had some extraordinary paranormal experiences. I am grateful for all the debunking community do, because the fakery cheapens something that when it really does happen, is so very special. Thank you xx

I think sometimes skeptics come off as jaded and uncaring when they are really just being analytical. As a skeptic of "ghosts" I do have to admit sometimes weird stuff happens and who are ya gonna call :). My skeptical wife lived in a house(before we were married) that a child had died in an upstairs closet of smoke inhalation, and this one door every morning would be open. She even put a huge dresser and heavy boxes and still next morning the stuff is pushed away and door is open. This happened in the mid 1970s before cameras in the home were a thing and she does not like to talk about it today as other things like the shower would randomly turn on, feelings of being watched etc. I just wanted to say some of us in the debunking community are more open minded than sometimes we come off as.

Everything paranormal is fake, usually things can be chalked up to unlevel house, air flow being interrupted, or a lot of other things that make far more sense and are far more provable than ghosts. Paranormal home inspectors is a bad show, but it explains in detail how some paranormal things are very much just abnormal occerances

This is the best community on TH-cam. We may not all agree that the paranormal is real or fake but we all agree these people taking advantage of people has to stop. Plus the content creators interact with their subscribers.
Great group of people I’m so glad to be a part of this.

I have no witty comment to add, but I think what you said about it not being easy for debunkers to put themselves out there is dead right. Hardcore fans make it personal when its not, or become nasty where its unwarranted. You are always fair and try to be respectful; that's why you deserve whatever we can give!

The silly thing is that these poltergeist type videos, with the string or whatnot, are now class projects in high school for kids to fake ghost videos. So lots of people just know how to do this now, and off they go with their fake "my apartment is haunted" videos.

Look all the people saying thank you for opening their eyes, so many people are grateful for your - and other debunkers - videos, cause before "you" happend to them, they spent money, and gave confidence to people who abused them and their good faith. That is what matters, no?.No, be proud and don't doubt, the good you do is unpayable!

It doesn't help when the channels have a vested interest in not telling us the whole story AND this year they've really just been cycling repeats over and over as if they're brand new. Even if I wanted to be a fan, I couldn't because it's usually stuff that's been debunked multiple times. I've gotten into arguments with people that refuse to believe it when even the people making the videos have come out and said they faked it. The age of information and the only thing that's done is make people far more stubborn with their beliefs. There's no critical thinking.

Thing is, debunkers aren't needed for 90% of activity. It's always so frequent, stereotypical, comic book, copybook "ghostly activity" that it's obviously fake.
Just two eyes and a brain, to know that.
What I find fascinating is the tech used to debunk, and how the fakers did it.

If it wasn't for the debunkers I would still be the naive paranormal believer that I was. I now get to watch actual paranormal investigators instead of fakers that youtube constantly recommends in my feed. Thank you for what you do and thank you to the debunking community for their support and patience in explaining and showing how these channels fake the paranormal. Also how a lot of the standard paranormal equipment is not showing paranormal activity and can be faked. The debunking community has made me a much better paranormal investigator who no longer blindly follows what others do to capture paranormal activity. I now know how to debunk when I go on investigations and I don't assume everything that goes on is paranormal. The debunkers are providing knowledge to paranormal investigators showing them how they can be better at what they do. For all of this I thank you all

Look, I could spend a full week telling stories of what's happened to me, paranormally. I truly believe. But I only believe after eliminating every possible 'logical explanation'. That said, I dislike the fakers because it demeans not only our intelligence, but also our real experiences. I know some people who have had seriously unexplained things happen for a couple of years, and although they have video, they won't tell anyone for fear of being called fakes themselves. Its not fair or right.
Keep doing your thing. I'd watch even if you posted 'how to make baked beans' every week. You're very engaging and a joy to watch.

I have my own opinion in the mix. Regardless, both sides have a VERY dedicated fan base. I am all for listening to the difference of opinions because i enjoy healthy debates which is why i do somewhat follow certain channels, mostly yours because you are very neutral and are respectful. My biggest issue in this constant battle is where people become entitled or prejudiced, which leads to people being hateful. The loudest ones are the same people who get kicked out of places for not knowing how to act(bartender speaking so yeah, its the same lol). Funny enough, this group of individuals are the same that, if they had a chance to whomever that they are badmouthing, all they would do is fangirl and ask for selfies.

in a way i understand the comment you are responding to. I, personally, think that all the videos you "debunk" are fake, but on the other hand, i always hope you will debunk it (prove it) rather than just proclaim that such and such thing is fake. And it's the problem with almost every debunkers videos i've seen, they always say it's fake (i don't have in mind, even once, being shown how it's trickery) but don't show it. So those who believe it's true won't be convinced otherwise just because you say it.
And to address your point at 7:50- i think that more people would believe you when showing the trick rather than not, and of course there will always be a few reluctant to change their mind, but on the longer run, they could accept they were wrong, while if you don't show them, most likely they will never change their opinion.
That's why i always hope someone will show me how it's done, because i want to be assured that these things are fake (because i've seen videos of a particular person, Mexican i think, that i want to be fake as they are very scary...unfortunately i can't find his name anymore...something with wolf, i think).

The thing is Dan that when you debunk things especially on the big channels the fans feel like you are saying that they are stupid. You and I know that you are not saying anything of the sort but rather that the channel is being dishonest but the fans don't see it that way. They then go on the attack because they feel they have to say the debunkers are wrong and don't know what they are talking about because if the debunkers are right then they have to accept that they fell for the fakers lies. It's an ego thing.

Nothing to do with this vid, I had a look a the Porthcawl Pier web cam the other day, it was a misty day with water on the lens. In the foreground was what I perceived to be an adult and a child, the child was running to and fro, while doing this his upper body disappeared, leaving only running legs. This was a great example of the limitations of a fixed focal length camera, and proved many of the points you have raised in the past. Anyhow, keep up the good work.👍👍

I understand where you are coming from. There are some people that seem very threatened thinking their beliefs are being trampled or something. What I find so refreshing about the new debunkers is that they aren't doing that. They are taking individual pieces that are submitted by channels as "Proof" and debunking them. I used to hate skeptics and debunkers because they always fell into "delusion/idiocy/grifting" as the only possible answer to paranormal experiences. That is frankly insulting, but debunkers like you, Parrple, Shape and Beardo aren't like that at all and that is why I subscribe to all of your channels. Unfortunately, a lot of people are parting with hard earned money, sending it to channels who fake things, and they should be exposed.

I simply refuse to join the "they crossed the rainbow bridge and I'll see them again" community, because I don't know, and I won't comfort myself with lies. Cos that's just not healthy. The person who left that comment, I was like that person twenty years ago and that was because I didn’t understand the debunking community, I thought it was people sat there arguing for the fun of it.
I implore anyone who doesn’t understand this community to sit down and really watch every debunking channel and really look and understand what it is you’re all trying to do, it’s not to take away peoples beliefs, it’s not to belittle and say anyone who believes is an idiot, it’s the exact opposite, it’s calling out the fakers, the scammers who shit all over what we believe in, it’s protecting those who believe and try to prevent harm and financial loss to scammers, that’s not taking away from anyone Dan that’s supporting your community and those channels who are real and genuine and exposing those not so nice people.
Don’t ever think you’re taking anything away from either side, the worst you’re doing is hopefully taking away from those fleecing people and if that’s the worst, you’re doing a feckin good job all of you!! 💕

    Sorry for the length!
    1) people shouldn’t believe less in the paranormal and the afterlife because of debunkers. They should be thanking them for exposing those who exploit believers for gain/views.
    2) No, you’ll never win against the big paranormal channels. But that doesn’t mean what you do isn’t important. People are zealots more than ever these days and they’ll never believe rational explanations.
    3) The burden of proof is on the people claiming their vids are legit, not the debunker. You don’t have to recreate crap.
    4) If that dude spent more time hitting the books instead of weights, maybe he’d know that through the use of pulleys reducing tension force, one person could have easily yanked that woman. But sure, a demon makes more sense. 😂

This is all just another facet of internet/social media psychosis- people get so invested in their echo chambers that they react like spoiled 10 year olds when anything resembling criticism challenges their assumptions. It's repugnant considering how many of these people are technical adults.
As for me, I'm a solid skeptical believer. I've had my experiences that can't be proven one way or another, so I accept that you don't NEED empirical proof to sustain your belief (seriously, you can't prove precognition, the apparent voices dead loved ones distracting you from serious harm, etc.). It's the old faith argument, essentially. On the other hand, as a thinking person who still maintains you shouldn't believe everything you see on a screen at face value, how can the same amusing but ultimately inane occurrences (doors/faucets opening, flickering lights, night time guards "talking" to invisible people on camera, etc.)- Hollywood ripoffs, basically- constitute proof of anything but a bit of fun (at best) or attention seeking grift (at worst)? Keep doing your thing, fellow pelon!

Ok, just because one pretty shiny ring is cubic zirconia does not mean that diamonds don't really exist.
I'm still gonna enjoy the cz ring's sparkle. It's still fun despite it's 'fakeness.' That doesn't mean it didn't bring me joy. Now it certainly won't negate the fact that a true diamond ring would have more monetary value. It just means that I am not knowledgeable of it's truth now and if it should slip from my fingers somewhere I won't be heartbroken. But hell yes I'm still going to have fun with it.
If someone's belief structure is shaken because a video is proven false, well they have bigger issues.

If we're debunking to win the fans from larger channels, we're doing it for the wrong reason.
Debunking should be done to keep integrity and honesty in the community. We aren't here to win anyone over. Only to show the truth, and in the end the truth will prevail.
Honestly I think this is the biggest hurdle the debunking channels need to overcome. Stop caring so much about the people you're debunking and their fans.
Just lay the truth and facts out there, be nice about it, ignore the ghost hunters and their toxic community, and keep trucking on.

Understandable reaction, big channels have huge, long standing fans. They support and pay money into these channels. Ultimately when you come along and dismantle these channels, by pointing out utter bollocks their long serving fans are likely to be pissed. Don't take it personally, you can't win everyone over.

I have no problem with realistically debunking videos that can be technically explained. I just don't care for the the type of "debunking" videos where it's just them saying that's not possible and moving on.

That's what paranormal caught on camera do, only they because it's their job, go to the up-loaders home to talk to them and try many way to prove or debunk the videos, and they will debunk hard core on television in front of everyone watching 🤷‍♀️ and the people honestly looking for real answers allow it because they truly want to know, they're good people.

Honestly, you have ignore some people, they aren't going to listen to logic. They take it as an attack on their belief when that's no where near what's happening.
Look at the world we live in today, logic and reason can't always win against belief.
So pretty much what you said in the video but, more aggression lol. I don't want to drag on peoples beliefs, but when they come into a space like this and stand their ground with zero reason... no just no.

I'm a cautious skeptic. I've had my own experiences and think there might be something, but I can't even believe my own experiences 100% because I know there were other factors at play that may have not been paranormal and I can't fully disprove or prove it. So why would I 100% believe a video on the internet when I can't even prove my own personal experiences to myself? I need more evidence.
There have been wire removal tools around for decades now and camera tricks. While they have good entertainment value, I'd be extremely hard pressed to fully believe any video uploaded online.
Debunking videos domt ruin any other aspect of my view as they simply provide more context and painfully obvious ways the videos could have been faked that I didn't think about before.

  • @ledicarusmedia
    @ledicarusmedia ปีที่แล้ว

I consider myself a skeptical believer, meaning I approach claims of the "paranormal" with a critical eye. When I watch investigation videos, I categorize incidents into those that can be reasonably "explained" and those that remain puzzling ("unexplained"). While I've noticed that most phenomena can be clarified to some extent, it's important to acknowledge that not everything has a clear-cut explanation. This does not mean it is "paranormal" it just means it is "unexplained" at the time. There are still rare occurrences that defy easy understanding, but these, like demons, happen far less often than Jasko would expect you to believe.
Effective debunkers focus on uncovering deception and staging in videos, as this should be, in my opinion, their primary responsibility.
There are debunkers who outright appear to reject the existence of anything "unexplained" much less "paranormal". It's crucial to understand that their perspective is a personal one and doesn't represent the entire community of debunkers, much like fervently religious individuals don't represent all believers in a higher power. Personally, I find their (total skeptics) content less engaging. It's not particularly stimulating to watch a debunking video where the sole explanation for everything is a dismissive statement like "they added a sound effect." (cajun). Providing no evidence or technical analysis of the video makes for extremely boring content. If one is going to debunk something, a genuine effort should be made. It's certainly acceptable to hold a skeptical viewpoint, but it's crucial to offer more than a repetitive assertion of "this isn't paranormal" without any supporting evidence to the contrary. (my recent debate with someone over cat balls)
"I say therefore it is." is not a reasonable conclusion.
When considering the metaphysical aspects of our surroundings, there exists a broad spectrum ranging from well-substantiated paranormal occurrences to those that are completely explicable. Paranormal investigators, ghost hunters, and those who aim to debunk ghostly videos each fall somewhere along this continuum.
Do debunking videos denigrate those who believe their departed loved ones remain present? No, I believe the primary purpose of debunking should be to expose deceptive elements within videos. If anything, this endeavor can inadvertently create a divide between that which is fabricated and that which remains unexplained. Faith, however, is a personal conviction; one shouldn't require a coffee cup hurled toward the Crayola Kids to believe their loved ones are looking out for them.
"If you intend to debunk a video, it's important to replicate the circumstances depicted in it". This aligns with the principles of scientific inquiry, where substantiating a claim necessitates reproducing experimental outcomes. Therefore, it's reasonable to expect debunkers to adhere to this standard when it comes to explaining how something was faked/staged. I do agree with this (to a point) but like you I'm too old to be dragged around on the floor by ropes just to prove that someone was in a video. As for the thin line used to pull someone in a video, if you think about it there exists fishing line - used to catch fish - which can lift a 100 pound fish, fighting for its life, out of the water). The technology, be it nearly invisible wires or masking a scene through electronic means (editing) exists. If you can dream it you can probably figure out a way to do it. However, even if one meticulously recreates the deception depicted in a video, there may still be individuals, akin to what I'll refer to as Paranormal Cultists, who will scrutinize the evidence and steadfastly refuse to accept it as definitive proof that the ghostly encounter was staged.
In my view, a debunker's primary focus should always be on revealing the deception within a video, rather than delving deeply into discussions about the potential existence or non-existence of the paranormal. ~Kevin

Everybody has their own beliefs you can’t change that. Please don’t stop making these debunking videos! You have helped out so many people from getting the wool pulled over their eyes. Many people believe these paranormal channels and support them by donating money to help them (like “really haunted”) they genuinely worry about them! I was one of them! I’m SO GLAD I came across your channel that showed how they are able to fool us. I GREATLY APPRECIATE the fact that you and other debunking channels call them out on their “bullshittery”!😊 No matter what you will always have haters unfortunately (people suck lol). Don’t let the few haters detour you from making these videos, know that you have many people who do appreciate what you do.
Thank you for opening my eyes! I honestly feel foolish believing: twin paranormal, Sam and colby, mindseed tv, (Jasko I was always skeptical on) Omar. Even though these channels are fake, You don’t make me not believe in the paranormal at all. Please don’t stop making these videos l look forward to all your videos ❤❤ thank you

I love what you debunkers do, and are grateful because when I started looking at things at TH-cam I sometimes didn’t know what too think. To day I look at horror film alone that never happened before I have listen too debunkers a long time. 🙏😎 Because everyone presented the paranormal as something evil and bad. You all know the demons and skin walkers 😈👻😈👻🙄😆 Some channel where very obvious even for me that they where fake. But not all and the debunker community that is now has grown and is growing and are amazing and really fun people. So every time you get someone to see the fakery. You are actually helping people iIMO that’s the important thing in what you do.❤
You are also a great content creator I mean I love your South Park intro. Then the other funny intros. You could do so much more things if you had the time. I quit my job a couple of years ago too try something I loved too do and because I loved it, it also worked.🤗🥳
I think the community you all have today is just awesome and you all got Crow and Joe too get new speed too 😉. So think every time you show the fakery there is someone on the other side so thankful for you opening their eyes to see the truth THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN WHAT YOU DO❤❤

That's always been my question. Just because it can be recreated that doesn't mean it can't be real. I am not arguing against anyone that is just a legit question. I fully support mr. Gray, beardo, and parple and they have taught me a lot about masking and stuff. But I have personally experienced many things that if I would of caught it on camera people could show how it could be faked.
Like with noises I recently had heavy footsteps run into the room me and my family were in, that's after hearing a gasp for air in the kitchen and nobody in there. If that was on video how would we know if it was an overlay or real. We have had doors slam shut so if on video can you tell if there was a wire removed from video? I now know to look for making though.
Just legit questions as I'm fairly new into watching debunking

Hello everyone. I am throwing out my opinion here with this but here it is.. The best debunker is someone that doesn't believe in paranormal or might believe in parts of it. It's the only way to get an unbiased fair opinion. Those of us like myself who believe in it or have lived with it will be more open to believe most of what we see without looking at all the scientific reasons. Most of us at least. I also don't think that debunkers can change people's minds about the paranormal unless they say they can't find any reason at all why something happened and resulted in a skeptic becoming more open minded. It's just how I feel about it.
    😊

Ok, dandalf if you don't want to read a novel of a comment then look away now because this is going to be a long one lol.
First off I am a big fan of you and this channel and I have been for a while now. I think that you do a good job of debunking specific videos and you make sure to only debunk the video and not get personal and attack the person making the video ( shit box channels aside.) What you said about the debunking community being disliked or looked down upon, I agree in a way, but also the believers in the paranormal also get looked down on by the " intellectual" types, the people who think they have everything about everything figured out and that anyone who believes in ghosts must be an idiot, my point is when it comes to getting shunned and mocked, I think debunkers and believers both have a bad time. As for the point about having to recreate a video to debunk it, I disagree with that, there are many ways to debunk things and sometimes it's obvious, however some things are not obvious to everyone, as an example you often say " well it's obviously edited, anyone can see that" now most people may be able to see that, but I personally have no idea about editing or what an edit looks like unless it's the most blatant edit ever, even when you show things like masking, I struggle to understand , maybe that makes me an idiot lol I don't know, but I do think that some people are not necessarily ignorant to things, they just struggle to see them like other do so easily. As for my thoughts on debunking as a whole, I like it, I think it's necessary and I think it helps to weed out fakers and leave the potential real evidence intact, but there are some things that debunkers tend to do that have annoyed me in the past, you mentioned the fact that you can't win against believer's your example being the " you have to recreate a video to debunk it " and the " just because you recreated it doesn't mean it's fake " arguments, however debunkers are just as bad imo, a couple of examples are " this camera quality is awful, can easily hide a mask or a string, it's fake" or " the camera quality is too good seems too perfect and too good to be true, probably fake" you also have the " well the ghost hunter ran away before seeing anything, probably because they knew nothing was there to be seen, if they are there to investigate why run? Fake" and then " they ran right into that room where the sound came from, they didn't even hesitate, must have known there was nothing in there so it must be fake" there are a couple of other examples but I don't want this comment to last forever lol, anyway, I just wanted to give some thoughts that I've had for a while, still a big fan, looking forward to your next live stream, have a good one :)

I like learning new things but I can't say that paranormal doesn't exist, I can not prove that so I respect everyone's views on the matter I just hate how people are so quick to fight each other over something both sides cannot prove or disprove the existence of paranormal
