Always love your videos Alex mate and this one is definitely one of your best ones yet you are definitely a legend mate keep up the great work and amazing content mate
Selling my car of 10 years next week. Hearing that quote makes me think how sad I’m going to be to let it go, especially after it never failed me and it gave me so much joy. Its hard getting older
Amazing , this is the thing I love to see my sub money being spent on. Made me cry watching it. The only thing me and my dad really connected on was cars and I lost him to early. So glad to see someone getting there dads car back
I always wanted my Dad to be into cars, he's a bike man and a mechanic... doesn't show an interest in my motors. Thankfully, all four of my sons love our cars. Much love
What a beautiful thing to do Alex, you didn’t need to, but you did. They will remember that for the rest of their lives. Bought a tear to my eye, lovely wholesome content.
I keep saying this, & I'll say it again, Tom Lenthall, you are a bloody legend mate! I might be an Aussie but if I was living in the UK, I'd have a Jag just to go & see Tom. Alex, I hope you do a surprise for Tom one day cos he deserves it. Robin from Viking, mate, that is one hell of a detail job. Kudos to you & Ben from Dad Cars for stepping up to the plate. This is my favourite episode to date so far. I hope Alex & his missus enjoy a refreshed L332 that belonged to his dad. I hope many more memories are made. Alex, you & Rory put together a great video, just keep them coming mate, but do something for Tom cos he has been fantastic to you guys.
"The chicken was still warm, and my dad was still alive" - cars can become part of the family too. Great video fellas, the good part of humanity showing through here.
Man this hit me in the feels. Unfortunately lost my own dad a couple of months ago, what you did for Alex is truly great. To have his dad's old car all done up and now he can keep making new memories in it with his family is priceless. Great work guys!
Ive followed Auto Alex from the start, and Alex back at Car Throttle. Now, we dont know the financial side of things and we dont need to. But its what a year in and Alex is literally doing the most amazing things. The community you have build is fantastic, from Taylor, Rory to Tom L, its amazing. Tom gives so much time to helping. Alex you are certainly one of a kind, and this should be a lesson to all auto car channels, get out from the shadow of the owners, do your own thing. What a wholesome and amazing thing you done here Alex and Co. Amazing.
Well im crying, lost my mom a few years back and this surely made his day. You people are amazing. Congrats everyone involved. I always watch your videos from Argentina.
all those people that talk bad about alex forget how much he really does for other people, sure hes a bit crude, but hes a great guy that does great things for people. alex is legit the best car guy on the internet.
My heart melted when the mum hugged Alex, you can tell it meant the world to her as well seeing her late husband's Land Rover back in the family again. Such an awesome project and I hope more to come in the future!
Incredible video… this is literally what it’s all about, very honoured to have been able to help 🥹 I hope I can meet little Violet at Shedfest! I will make a colouring in sheet featuring Alex’s Range Rover for kids to colour in 🥰
Tomorrow marks a year since my dad’s funeral. I’ve got his car (that was my granddads car) sat on the driveway. Unfortunately unable to afford to do the work it needs but I know all too well the feeling of sitting behind the wheel when you’ve only ever been a passenger. My son was born 7 months after my dad passed too. There really are no words to describe the situation but I’m so damn happy for you Alex. Enjoy the car and every second with your baby girl. ❤ Also, thank you Alex, Tom, Rory and the rest of you, this is the truly an amazing thing to do. Now off to watch Dad Cars
I smile and laugh while watching pretty much every video that you guys release, but this one I connect with on a completely different level. My dad passed away after a long illness 15 years ago, but I still have his last car that he bought back in 2006. It is just a humble Škoda Octavia 1,9TDi 4x4, but for me and my mom it's so much more. Every time I go see her and park the car in front of the house, she tells me: "It always feels nice to see that car parked where it used to." I know we all have someone that we dearly miss and having a car that they used to drive just helps to bring back that feeling when you both sat inside and drove off, if only for a second. Car community is just the warmest even if we sometimes act like tough and dirty guys and girls. You are not alone in this! If you are dealing with anything that makes your life miserable, just talk to people. Even if it's just reacting to a comment like this on the Internet. Every little bit helps. Take care everyone.
That clarkson statement is so true They are more then just boxes on wheels It all starts when you give a car a name, for example I have a white V40 d3 r design manual, I’ve named it Stig, not only after the Stig but after Stigs namesake, Stig Blomqvist, the famous Swedish rally driver
I've always found some cars have just felt like a machine did their job but that was it. Other cars weirdly enough often the ones that actually needed more work doing I bonded with the most. My last car was a 1999 Honda accord and I spent hours fixing various age related issues and was gutted when it got wrote off. From a economical point of view I think the car was horrific but I had a real bond.
I listened to Ben Collins' podcast with Andy Wilman in the car the other day (would recommend listening), and Stig actually comes from a nickname given to first year private school boys at the school Clarkson and Wilman attended!
for me as a car guy i love my car, non car people will never understand the love between a man and his car, Especially me because my dad (R.I.P) gave me the money for it and he saw it before he died because of cancer and said that car is really special. i will never give it away. yes it is a pain in the ass sometimes but i repair mine as hard as i can. and i hope i still can because of the money for it. i know how it feels if you think about your dad just sitting there and start crying without any reasons. Well done lads you made one person happy again and gave him a smile back with his lovly family!
I can watch all manner of emotional TV and movies.. never a flicker of emotion across my face. Seeing his face when that RR came around the corner had me in floods of tears. Amazing what cars can mean to us.
For all the antics and marking about, Alex and the boys are true car enthusiasts. The absolute stunned science for Alex seeing his Dad's car come home. That Clarkson quote has never been more true. To the layman, it's just an old range-rover, to Alex, it's treasured memories of his dad and so is a special vehicle. Amazing stuff by everyone to help get the car fixed up, looking it's best and kitted out to be a proper Dad Car.
The Clarkson insert and replacing the usual outro music were perfect touches on a video like this. You can see how much it meant not only to Alex but his family to - amazing the memories that come from the car world. Also well done for not saying our version of "he who shall not be named"
I'm loving this wider network of people more and more, I must say. I enjoy a good video of just the trio. But having Tom drop in to most videos, Robin a regular feature and christ, even Martin last week and the Stig on a recent podcast! Everyone seems to gel so well, which is testament to the good character of the OG's. This channel, it's affiliates, podcast, shows - it's all adding up to be something really quite special.
Ok... it's official, this is now my favourite TH-cam channel. Its been wavering in my top 10 for ages with MCM always at the top....but this video seals the deal. Cheers lads. Well done 👍
THIS is what it is all about and why I enjoy watching these guys on the Autoalex channel. Y'all are a bunch of really good dudes. From all the banter to wholesome videos like this. Heck yeah! Respect to Tom and his team for putting in the work, without a doubt THE place to go to. Also a splendid job on the detail. Hope Alex and his family can add a lot of memories with this RR. All the best to them.
This one hit me in the feels, lost my dad in Feb last year to Motor Neurone Disease, me and my Mum had to sell his XJ6 as my Mum became his full time carer and needed the money due to giving up work, luckily it went to a good home but it was his pride and joy, he just missed out on retirement and he missed out on seeing his grandson who was born just 3 weeks after he died. Such a great gesture by you guys and it’s things like this that make me keep watching! You’re all legends ❤
Absolutely beautiful thing you done for this family. Proof that ca car is more than just medal, plastic and leather. Its a treasure chest of memories and that range rover has got many memories with it and i hope it has more memories to come. Thank you to alex and his team and everyone that did this for the family. Bless you all❤️❤️
What an amazing gift to the family. Ngl I welled up watching. Lost my dad recently, having the dads car in their lives is another way of remembering the good times 👍
Well done to you ALL, such a lovely thing to do. Tom and his team are definitely the ones who put in the most work. God bless you all, and hope the other Alex and family enjoy the car.
After teaching kids for 12 years, I know what bringing happiness to others feels like. This video proves that serving others is the highest form of joy you can get. You deserve every success, Alex. What a beautiful gift! ❤
I just wanted to drop this, my dad got me into cars and I still remember the van he put me on his lap with me steering as a kid... The emotions you get are beyond belief and I sincerely hope. That he also had similar memories and you and your team's goodwill will only encourage such feelings and memories. Cars are like family members to us car folk. By the community for the community. Loved this.
Hat off to everyone that worked hard and got involved with making this happen you should all be proud and give each other a huge pat on the back, good look Alix and family enjoy every minute and make memory's she will be a teenager before you know it 😂 (dad of two girls 14 and 15) Once again well done everyone ❤
I lost my dad 3 years ago and watching this video brought me back to when we would go for our weekend drives together listening to the morning news. The pain doesn't necessarily go away. The memories will always stay.
You guys are absolutely amazing.. you truly are.. never stop being you guys.. my old man passed away and I still have his Peugeot 406 estate.. its done astronomical mileage. Its not pretty but I love it.. Clarkson words really ring true
Lost my dad a year ago. He was a rally driver in Finland in his youth, racing a Sunbeam Imp, later he developed a passion for BMW. When I see a grey E28, I burst in to tears. You did very well lads ❤
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you've done for every single one of us. I'm proud to be a part of this family. God bless you lads ❤❤❤
Absolutely awesome video and I have to say that you all have hearts of gold and I applaud and give you all lots of virtual hugs. If I ever get the chance to see you in person, hugs will be coming as it reminds me of my Dad as today would have been my Dad's Birthday today (14th March) and I'm not kidding, he was called John as well. OMG..... Sigh (with a happy heart)
Genuinely heart warming episode. Alex has done loads of nice thing for all different types of people because hes " a petrol head" and " a nice man". You dont get that type person alot nowadays, so well done for making things feel better and friendlier in this current climate of war and hate.❤
Alex, this isn’t the first time your channel has shown what a truly human side it has. To do this, and bring us along for the journey is a joy and privilege. Thanks to you and your team, we salute you all!
I lost my father in October 2023 of pancreatic cancer. Getting rid of his Audi A4 was so hard for myself and my mum. My father gave me his Suzuki Bandit 600 S and I’m now currently in the process of doing my bike licence. Not everybody gets how close of a connection you have to your father and his vehicles. Ngl this episode made me cry. Thank you Alex for a brilliant episode and well done to Tom for doing the job for Alex
Prime example of people using their platform for good and giving back to their community! What Alex and everyone has been doing lately has been truly amazing!
The 'like' button really doesn't do this justice. Beautiful. Brought tears to these eyes. Just look at the amazing things that happen when we let kindness lead our thinking 🥰❤
Another great video, lost my dad 12 months ago. Huge petrolhead too. Talking about him at the end of the video is amazing, really hits home when he explains the point of talking about him and not crying anymore. That point in the grief period is one of the best, the happy times start flooding back! Carry on with this journey lads, such a wholesome genuine watch. Amazing ❤
I can totally relate to this, after losing my dad, his van was a connection of his life and it's still around. The way you lads pulled all this together to give memories back (along with saving a car from the scrap heap) is to be applauded. I salute you all ❤
Genuinely brought a tear to my eye. Damn you, Alex. My brother and I own Dad's 1957 Sunbeam S7 and it will never, ever be sold. Vehicles do indeed have soul, and if you think otherwise, go lease an electric Nissan. Car trailer would be great, but the mistake many make is shortening the body -just gut the whole thing, put an axle in the middle (leave fake wheels in the arches) and make it a camping pod.
Honestly guys, you all most made me cry 😭 thanks for giving back, that's what makes your channel stand out from all the other channels, down to earth 😁, don't change!!!!!!! love yous lots xx
This is one of those moments you have talked about on your podcast where you should sit back and reflect. “I did that” should be proud of yourselves for this one great thing to do.
Wow is all I can say to you Auto Alex, all of you pulled together and went above and beyond to give this Range Rover a new lease of life, not to mention make a new dad happy after losing his dad.. Well done to ALL of you that made that happen ❤
I’m not crying you are!! In all seriousness, what you guys do for people and the positive light you shine on the car community is incredible. Thank you 🙏
I miss my Dad too. I lost him in March 2020. Time is a wonderful healer. I only have good dreams and memories about him now. He left me a car too, but only a Nissan Primera. He wasn't a car guy, but I have used some of his money to invest in my classic car hobby. I know he would be happy so long as I'm spending it wisely.
It's videos like this that make me really love people like Alex, Tom, Taylor, Rory, Robin and the rest of these amazing guys. TH-camrs like Whistling Diesel could learn a LOT from you. ❤
I applaud you and the whole team for doing something soo heartfelt for a viewer and his new family to help keep the memory and spirit alive of his late dad....Excellent video, Thank you.
This is doing more for men’s mental health than any government scheme. Fair play Alex and to all who made this happen, as someone who’s lost their father it’s brought a tear to my eye
Truly a special thing you did with this car. I lost my Dad a few years ago, when I was just 17. I'm currently in the process of getting his Jaguar X-type back on the road. He loved that car, and we had many laughs driving around in it, usually when something randomly decided to break 😅 I've always been a car lover, I get attached to them for some strange reason. I'm 21 and have 4 cars, only one of which is used because all the others are broken 🤦♂️🤣🤣
This is one of my favourite videos you've done. The emotions running through him must have been wild and you couldn't have done it a better time. Especially when he said he's come to terms with it now he can carry the legacy on of being a dad with that car 🖤
This video really hit me hard, as i lost my dad 18 months ago, all of you guys have been able to bring a smile and joy back into my life, what you have all done is astounding, top lads! I can’t wait to hopefully see you all at shed fest this year ❤️
Sadly lost my dad in November, so watching this I could feel how emotional it must have been to see that car pull up on the driveway. Amazing work by everyone involved, well done guys, a really really lovely thing to do for someone at such a sad time.
Great work boys ! I lost my dad a few years back and he was my best friend and the man that got me to have my car obsession ! Watching this after just having a baby ourselves I genuinely was tearing up ! Keep up the good work lads ❤
This is your best episode to date. Got me right in the feels this one. The generosity you guys have shown to Alex and his family is fantastic. But it also made me think of my dad, who we lost last July. It brought a tear to my eye. Well done to you all!! And the Clarkson comment was an inspired addition.
The chap Martin you met, I felt he was a great chap from setting eyes on him then hearing he knew shane macgowan was the icing of the cake. You sll landed on your feet meeting a thorough genuine decent chap like him, they don't come like that often in this world.
Damn man, right in the feels, Alex, tom, dad cars, robin and the rest who busted ass on this, you should all feel extremely proud of yourselves, the car community as whole is proud of you!
This is what makes you guys a great channel. You do all the trips, buying tat and ducking about and abusing each other and then do random acts of kindness like this. Well done to all involved ☺️
I'm not crying, you're crying. What you did here is beyond good. I know. If someone did this for me with my dad's Safari after he passed away, I'd be over the moon. Sure, it's just a van to some people, and it's not even one of the better ones... But it was Dad's. There's a history. Now, 24 years later, I'm sure that van is scrapped. And I'm 90% sure so was his '66 Malibu.
Alex has always done beautiful things like this for people and it's so good to see it continuing. Thank you for doing this purely to be a good human Alex and not for any other reason. ❤
No nope, not going to get emotional... but those last seconds in loving memory broke me. Top down, this whole episode warmed my heart. We need more people like Alex and the team. Brilliant work boys
True Heart!! That’s what has made me such a fan of your channel. With all the silliness and laughter of many of your videos, videos like this come out to remind of what is important in life. Spending time with loved ones and giving true kindness and charity to others when we are able. Well done everyone to everyone involved.!!
Kudos to you all (even though you managed to crash his car) Celebrate don’t commiserate the loss of a loved one (or two) as I have done. A lovely gesture all the same 🙏🏻 😊
What a beautiful thing to do Alex and his team and everyone .Tom Lenthall ( hero) ..........................clarkson statement is so true ......................................
I’ve followed Autoalex from the beginning and this is my favourite video to date. It’s lovely to see everyone pulling together for such a good cause, you are all legends in my eyes.
Alex, you are what keeps the car community alive and real. It’s videos like these that show that we all support each other and that the beauty of cars can restore happiness no matter what happens
Alex, sometimes you're a little shit, in fact, you're often a little shit, but most of the time it is funny. This time... I'm genuinely proud of you (as, I am sure, a lot of people are). You have done a very admirable thing, and the legend Tom Lenthal stepping in and sorting it out, is exactly what we would expect from Tom, he is the best mate we all wish we had, plenty of knowledge, plenty of fun, but above all - always willing to step up and help out to do the right thing. ❤ Well done Alex, you've got a good heart, good man. 🤝🤝🤝

K swap the range rover and make it as track car.
03:25 - Range Rover 'Car Trailer'.... HELLS YES! Being towed by another beastie, CERTAINLY WOULD make people L👁️👁️K twice!!! 👌👍🤣🤣
😎🇬🇧
Please confirm Rory's car will be getting fixed bro.
That Clarkson quote just hits different in this context! Great video for a great cause! Well done lads!
That quote hits me in the feels every time
Same here.
Couldn’t agree more. That quote always hits but in this video… it’s something else
Selling my car of 10 years next week. Hearing that quote makes me think how sad I’m going to be to let it go, especially after it never failed me and it gave me so much joy. Its hard getting older
As a car guy it definitely brought a tear to my eyes

🙌😘
I always wanted my Dad to be into cars, he's a bike man and a mechanic... doesn't show an interest in my motors. Thankfully, all four of my sons love our cars. Much love
We can all see Tom's face when Alex tells him that the car trailer is happening. That in itself is worth doing the build
Yep. Whatever the fudge he's on about needs to happen
It will be the most reliable Range Rover on the road
It needs a head lining
It would be more fun to do a crazy pimp my ride style build, with big bumpers and a crazy interior
Didn't they do a similar thing on carthrottle and then scrap it
This is what TH-cam needs more of, no male bravado bull, just blokes supporting blokes and wholesome content, smashed it again Alex and the team 🎉
What a beautiful thing to do Alex, you didn’t need to, but you did. They will remember that for the rest of their lives. Bought a tear to my eye, lovely wholesome content.
Is it just me or is anyone else proud of Alex and the team of wonderful people he's got? Love it when people do good deeds!!!
I keep saying this, & I'll say it again, Tom Lenthall, you are a bloody legend mate! I might be an Aussie but if I was living in the UK, I'd have a Jag just to go & see Tom. Alex, I hope you do a surprise for Tom one day cos he deserves it.

Aye Tom Lenthall is a legend, they need to sort him out a nice gift for all the hard work, maybe a holiday where he doesn't have todo overtime, ha ha
"The chicken was still warm, and my dad was still alive" - cars can become part of the family too. Great video fellas, the good part of humanity showing through here.
I am not crying you are...😭😭😭. Thanks for this! Everyone liked that.
Yeah, you're right. I'm definitely crying, mate.

I’ve been in your position. Approaching 7 years later and it’s still tough but it does get better. Can’t believe it’s 7 years. It feels like 3 or 4.
Sorry for your loss, hold onto the good memories.
Sorry for your loss, hope you're doing OK
Sorry for your loss, my condolences to you and your family.
3 years this June for me, currently working on his old Volvo 850 Automatic Estate - i'll get the big blue brick going again somehow.
Ive followed Auto Alex from the start, and Alex back at Car Throttle. Now, we dont know the financial side of things and we dont need to. That hug from mum was proper heartfelt. Lovely that the next generation of that family can make memories in the rangey.
Alex, for someone who tends not to be too serious, this is a truly gentlemanly thing to do, a very very warm and strong bravo!
I don't comment on videos often. DEFINITELY DO THE CAR TRAILER IDEA! EPIC.
Well im crying, lost my mom a few years back and this surely made his day. You people are amazing. Congrats everyone involved. I always watch your videos from Argentina.

Avid watcher of your channel too 🚙
Please include a damaged wing on the picture 😂

Didn't expect to find you on here
Nice to see a bit of kindness going around. Well done to all involved including the guys and girls we don’t see on camera. You all did a cracking job.
This channel is so much better than when you were just a host on car throttle. This channel has a heart and soul. Well done lads. 👍
Tomorrow marks a year since my dad’s funeral. I’ve got his car (that was my granddads car) sat on the driveway. Unfortunately unable to afford to do the work it needs but I know all too well the feeling of sitting behind the wheel when you’ve only ever been a passenger.

I listened to Ben Collins' podcast with Andy Wilman in the car the other day (would recommend listening), and Stig actually comes from a nickname given to first year private school boys at the school Clarkson and Wilman attended!
Yes, but the first year boys were named Stig after and because of the character from the children's book.

Absolutely beautiful thing you done for this family. Proof that ca car is more than just medal, plastic and leather. Its a treasure chest of memories and that range rover has got many memories with it and i hope it has more memories to come.
Thank you to alex and his team and everyone that did this for the family. Bless you all❤️❤️
Massive shout out to you all, but especially Tom Lenthall ….you are a star , and so are you’re lads, pulled out all the stops again…👍👌🇮🇲🏆
Restoring the love, that's what you guys have done again.
All the best to Alex and all his family. RIP John
After teaching kids for 12 years, I know what bringing happiness to others feels like.
This video proves that serving others is the highest form of joy you can get.
You deserve every success, Alex. What a beautiful gift! ❤
Iv been waiting for this, didn’t expect it so soon ❤well done mate for doing such a good deed 🎉
I think the Clarkson voiceover is the crossover we didn't know we wanted, but needed.
@@cashoui perfect point.. very well made
YOU GUYS ARE FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!! I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU ALL!
Absolutely amazing guys. Brought a literal tear to my eye.
You guys are the new top gear 🎉
Lost my dad a year ago. He was a rally driver in Finland in his youth, racing a Sunbeam Imp, later he developed a passion for BMW. When I see a grey E28, I burst in to tears. You did very well lads ❤
This made me cry what a lovely team of people you are keep up your great channel.
This is so wholesome, with everything going wrong in the world this is lovely to see💪🏼💙
Alex, this isn’t the first time your channel has shown what a truly human side it has. To do this, and bring us along for the journey is a joy and privilege. Thanks to you and your team, we salute you all!
I love Tom, always got a smile on his face 🙌
I lost my father in October 2023 of pancreatic cancer. Getting rid of his Audi A4 was so hard for myself and my mum. My father gave me his Suzuki Bandit 600 S and I’m now currently in the process of doing my bike licence. Not everybody gets how close of a connection you have to your father and his vehicles. Ngl this episode made me cry. Thank you Alex for a brilliant episode and well done to Tom for doing the job for Alex
Big pete pulling that round the nurburgring 😂would look awesome!!
What, the trailer? :D
@@HazewinDog yep
Prime example of people using their platform for good and giving back to their community! What Alex and everyone has been doing lately has been truly amazing!
Dad Cars cameo! Wonderful. Splendid chat.
The 'like' button really doesn't do this justice. Beautiful. Brought tears to these eyes. Just look at the amazing things that happen when we let kindness lead our thinking 🥰❤
7:30 i see that mk1 espace in the back of shot 👀
Saw that too. Cool wheels.
You guys are actually amazing.
Love that you give back to the community that makes your channel what it is.
Also, I'm not crying. You're crying.
Tom's lost so much weight he no longer looks like he could be Taylor's dad.
As someone who has lost his dad and has a baby, I would of cried like a baby if someone did this for me!
Such a good thing for you guys to do ♥️
Truly a special thing you did with this car. I lost my Dad a few years ago, when I was just 17. I'm currently in the process of getting his Jaguar X-type back on the road. He loved that car, and we had many laughs driving around in it, usually when something randomly decided to break 😅
I've always been a car lover, I get attached to them for some strange reason.
This channel is so wholesome, all you guys make an awesome team!!!!!!
You're a true class act! This was an amazing thing to do for Alex. He really seems like a genuine dude who really deserved it.
Well done lads, well done. Brought tears to my eyes. This is what the car community is all about ❤
Great work boys !
That’s genuinely so wholesome, had me tearing up I won’t lie, very selfless act
Well done to you all.iv just lost my dad the video made me cry at the end to see Alex smile wow well done fellas keep doing wot you do
True Heart!!
Well done Alex, you've got a good heart, good man. 🤝🤝🤝
And this is why this is easily one of the best automotive channels on TH-cam,
Welldone guys 🙌
