Some clarification - what I meant was that Valve won't let us put a store page up without VR working because we had (at the time) a VR launch option, but nothing was being displayed in headset when you launched the game (e.g. there was no main menu). We had to remove the launch option in order for them to approve the store page, but obviously we still want to have that option - so the VR menu addresses that.
@@Viesta Obviously since this question is for Alex I can't answer for him but I'd only assum e that facepunch would since it supports majority of the VR headsets. Including Meta Quest ones too.
@@Eridium77 that'd be awesome, though if it got on the meta quest store i'd imagine it'd be a quest 3/S exclusive but i might be wrong... we shall see what the future has to bring. :)
i like how valve doesnt let sndbox release with unfinished vr support but there are floods of vr games that are borderline unplayable on the steam store
Well mainly it’s because sandbox represents valve and vale’s work and they don’t want a broken product associated with there name so to keep there name clean they refuse to host the unfinished product
@@xrad1us this doesnt really have anything to do with valve it just uses their engine also they let many unfinished source 1 games on steam on launch, also hunt down the freeman
@@skarano sandbox is the successor to Gary’s mod and vale is highly associated with Gary’s mod unlike all those smaller games dependent on the source engine, it’s less about what the game is run on rather than who is represented by it, yes valve owns the source engine but they don’t majorly associate with those individuals who use it for their game and but sandbox is a big name title that is majorly represented by valve and face punch so it’s more detrimental to their status rather than a small time game nobody even knows exists.
exactly they sell headsets more then first party vr games, that's why valve wants s&box to have vr support. So the community can make content for valve and inturn have more content for their future headset release's.
Honestly as someone who played gmod a lot and now VR all I really want is S&Box to give me good vr support and for communities to pop up that make interesting VR experiences with the source engine.
Why would they do that? They have Source 2 already that's a VR ready engine. I mean, yeah Valve had to use Unity to make VR stuff like for The Lab. But they don't need to anymore.
Do you think that s&box might have a later 2024 release or an early 2025 release? let me know below!
Well, now that it's 2025......

Thank you for this clarification alex!
i know you'll probably not respond but... if the valve deckard comes out will facepunch try to support the valve deckard for S&Box?

Amazing video bro, high quality and it’s well made with a good script. Keep it up.

So deas that mean it might release any time soon? Its been in development for a really long time now, i dont wanna rush it but damn
omg, VALVE ACTUALLY CARES!!!???
Love it. Makes you wonder if valve themselves will use s&box for project in vr.
obviously won’t, s&box is leasing the engine license from Valve.
what a stupid take lmao

>valve won't allow release because vr related thing

>vr
???
Deckard confirmed
S&box please don't become another VRchat.
Sampersandbox is a dumb name anyway
0:25 Is VR that popular? From what i've seen many people have ill effects from it and dont really like it
