Once a friend on discord told me that they left rec room due to games being childish. Speaking of which children is a big hit in rec room besides that meta is removing underage kids. Kids are a big hit in rec room it makes some of the community and with it being cross platform kids have more access not to mention back then those horrible ads. People can also see what kids find intresting such as youtube having a big hit with some topic that possibly have millions of videos for kids. A rec room person can take one scroll finding the things that kids like which allows them to build something quick and attract thousands of vists and subscribers due to most spaltering SUBSCRIBE almost everywhere. As a creator who tries to make high quality content for my subscribers, I've always found these people annoying, and yes you are 100% right about EVERYTHING in this video. I've encountered many of these creators who brag their ass off about subs when they make some of the worst rooms in this game. I've also been offered by some of these promoters/people who buy rooms that actually begged me to sell my room to them and it's sad. I imagine this is what rec room did not originally imagine the game to be, so I'm hella glad they're fixing this.
dude its the worst thing seeing someone with the entire seller swag then looking at their portfolio to see horrible maps with thousands and millions of visits. Its funny how the people who make the worst rooms brag the most. Its generally hard to make money on rec room and try to create actually good content.
I make one popular “build your own game” and I get these 7 year olds bribing me with subscribers and gift boxes if I gave them the room. I didn’t take the offer and I am so glad I didn’t. I got way more in return with updates and community outreach then just getting some little kids to buy me some stuff

Another episode of BVR literally spitting facts. But seriously, this is a massive issue, it seems although Rec Room is promoting these obvious low effort cash grab games. A staff member in the Rec Room discord stated that their goal is to not delete nor promote it (Obviously I could be wrong). I find it frustrating that still even after nearly a year of the costume maps being promoted through the new tab; nearly nothing has been done to get rid of this. As a very small creator it feels useless to even attempt to make a game when people can just do this. I’m glad that it’ll be fixed soon tho. there’s my little rant
Yeah but why does literally every single Rec Room advertisement include these rooms? If they really didn’t want to endorse or promote these types of rooms, then why are they making ads on them?
I feel exactly the same as I have recently noticed I have stopped playing rr as much as I used to due to the low effort rooms taking up so much space in the new tab. It makes it way harder for me to find any fun games and overall ruining the experience.
Similar to this there is a large issue of people labeling their inventions wrong on purpose (mostly dorm skins) so you keep on seeing dorm skins in the weapons hashtag and other sections they aren’t supposed to be in. I think I’ve been seeing this problem since the dorm anchor came out.
I just clicked on the video and I'm still watching the ads but I already literally started clapping and couldn't suppress the smile on my face screaming "Finally someone talks about it!" Thank you, BVR.
It breaks my heart to see people like me and my fellow inventors being neglected while people like this steal all the clout just by being lazy. I try to only use around 1-3 inventions in my rooms, these kids just slap them wherever they can. These types of people need to be stopped, and banned.

Basically everything you said in the video is true. Speaking on the promotion topic, it’s definitely very true; but some creators do help the smaller creators with the building or genuinely do just like the map and help out the smaller creators. But sadly I don’t believe any of the builders you mentioned in this video would do that. You really were spot on. The fact that these builders brag to others about there subs and know they only get them from this exploitation is sad. Also speaking on them making money, the main creator you were talking about is not even allowed to cash out because of their low quality rooms. Some of the other creators you mentioned choose not to cash out instead they use them in the game.

As someone who uses inventions, I hate this as well. I do not have the skill to create certain models. I do not have the proper hardware to import clean audio. I do not have the patience to create a single model multiple times if I need it. Sure it may be low effort at times, but at least the rooms are original. This stuff is ridiculous, and the RR staff needs to do something about it.

For a person who has encountered 3 people who made some bad rooms those rooms suck. Some even have said that their rooms are original and even said that one of the inventions which was mine said they made it by themselves which was not true it's horrible that those kind of people are taking credit for things that they didn't build nor either trying to build something original.
A month ago I saw a friend of mines in ^costumes in a park and after I joined him, the entire room was made with only inventions and it was popular theres always like 5 people every time I join and had like 50k visits

I also am a RR who spent like 10 months to a year earning my 10k subs and for these people to just go and copy the same room 1000 times and get 200k subs from it. It completely ruins the game and they really didn't earn their subs and tokens truly. They don't deserve the amount of stuff they got. Its starting to corrupt the game.
they used to not be a problem and actually be original with pretty varied themes and way less room keys and subscribe buttons everywhere, but sadly the clout chasers caught up to them and basically made them as annoying as costume rooms
I'm currently making an exploration dreamcore anesthetic and I feel a bit discouraged when I see theses low levels rooms. Hopefully they fix this soon so people who are actually trying to make good rooms.
Now I finally understand why the new tab is so messed up! I've been playing Rec Room for 3 years now and when I saw this happening, I didn't get it why only these kind of rooms would be on the new tab the whole time. Also I never understood why people would like these "simple and low effort" rooms (no hate though). Of course, people have other opinions and they enjoy different games more than others. But what I'm trying say, is that it feels so unfair that new and old creators almost don't get a chance to show the rooms they've made... I honestly thought that people were not making any other rooms than these "simple" rooms. But after watching this video I come to the conclusion, that this is not the case and I finally understand what's going on. I'm glad to hear that the devs are looking for a solution. I once had a friend in rec room . He invited me to a skibiti land game . Everything was an invention. He probably invited me 40 times and I kept denying and he kept inviting me . I told him to stop and he kept inviting . He said he was doing it for the money and subs .
Ya Ik the co-owner of the room I worked with him for 2 weeks then he took me to a “top gun map” and I looked at the inventions and it was all inventions

Just wanted to say you were on the money with room promoters. I was looking through the community page and ranting about the quality of these rooms and saw one of the creators literally had "Room Promoter" in their bio. They also had a ton of subscribers. It's very disappointing to see how users abuse the room tabs to spew out low effort slop.
My maps are similar to these (excluding the childish horror costumes and the cheer/subscribe forcing) because I don’t know how to use the maker pen *at all* , but I’m getting better at it. I NEED A MAKER PEN CLASS PLEA- (and they aren’t republished wanted to point that out)
theory: you said that the main reason that they are making these rooms is because they want subscribers and don't really care about the tokens. I half agree with this, but i mainly think the reason that there arent many keys is cause they're lazy, i know it sounds dumb but even with me sometimes i will not fully monetize a room because i don't want to sit there typing in multiple keys. it is genuinely easier to make 2 keys and clone a room a bunch of times than to write out new keys every room. You would still technically be making just as much money while putting in less effort.
I believe that I used to talk to the creator before he made his first room, once he got popular he changed and never stopped publishing and publishing to get more and more subscribers...

Mainly they get high visit maps and i heard from builders that they buy and sell maps for large token amounts also i personally know some of these creators because they have tried to buy my maps in the past and ive heard they have made upwards of millions of tokens
Hello BVR, i am a creator myself and know my way around in the creation bit of recroom and yeah sadly i do know a fair bit about the promoters you are mentioning. And I’ll tell you bit about the system and how it works, they abuse the algorithm to push cheap maps out to gain subscribers, once they have subscribers they become promoters and ask people for in game tokens, or actual Real Life Money. Then they will use the map some small creators gave them to get more subscribers and it’s a continuous loop. For example One of my mates wanted to hire a promoter named Tonic ( also someone you showed in this video ) we went to ask him about it and when we did he said he wanted 1,250,000 Tokens And 30% earnings from the room. Me and my mate had only just started making maps and he had a breakthrough and received 3M from all earnings just prior. However we saw it as outrageous the amout he was asking for, and for a small creator, that’s a lot to put on the table. I would definitely recommend to any small creators, that when you start off, to just make maps for fun and get your maps popular yourself instead of hiring promoters to do it for you. 😅 but yeah if you read this thanks. Love your videos by the way.
I hate these rooms. I once worked hard on a game only for me to get like 400 subs. Meanwhile a friend of my friend got over 10k subs for just getting co-owner in a room that is full of inventions,literaly everything is inventions. I’ve also seen a player named “Taconic”, who is mentioned in the video, buying out rooms, then turning them into nightmares of there former selves.
I can confirm promoters do exist. I had some guy come up to me in a grand opening event asking to promote it so there's definitely a market for it.

wow people are finally starting to realize that this is a issue. now all we need people to know is that the "make your own" rooms are a problem
i make them (with no inventions btw) because i dont know cv2 and if i did i would make diffrent games
they used to not be a problem and actually be original with pretty varied themes and way less room keys and subscribe buttons everywhere, but sadly the clout chasers caught up to them and basically made them as annoying as costume rooms
I'm currently making an exploration dreamcore anesthetic and I feel a bit discouraged when I see theses low levels rooms. Hopefully they fix this soon so people who are actually trying to make good rooms.
I feel the same about these rooms as i feel about annoying, screaming children. Annoying to see.
Now I finally understand why the new tab is so messed up!
I've been playing Rec Room for 3 years now and when I saw this happening, I didn't get it why only these kind of rooms would be on the new tab the whole time.
Also I never understood why people would like these "simple and low effort" rooms (no hate though).
Of course, people have other opinions and they enjoy different games more than others.
But what I'm trying say, is that it feels so unfair that new and old creators almost don't get a chance to show the rooms they've made...
I honestly thought that people were not making any other rooms than these "simple" rooms. But after watching this video I come to the conclusion, that this is not the case and I finally understand what's going on.
I'm glad to hear that the devs are looking for a solution. And I would like to thank you for sharing this information, otherwise I would not have ever known!

I once had a friend in rec room . He invited me to a skibiti land game . Everything was an invention. He probably invited me 40 times and I kept denying and he kept inviting me . I told him to stop and he kept inviting . He said he was doing it for the money and subs .

Ya Ik the co-owner of the room I worked with him for 2 weeks then he took me to a “top gun map” and I looked at the inventions and it was all inventions
Ok so I only tried this to see how it would work, so I wanted to see if I would get more tokens from a children game than making a pvp or parkour but they actually do makes you tokens I really think this should stop 🛑 ✋
This is horrible for people who actually put effort into their rooms because then they're just gonna get lost buried under those republished rooms no matter how much time someone put into them

Just wanted to say you were on the money with room promoters.
I was looking through the community page and ranting about the quality of these rooms and saw one of the creators literally had "Room Promoter" in their bio. They also had a ton of subscribers. It's very disappointing to see how users abuse the room tabs to spew out low effort slop.
My maps are similar to these (excluding the childish horror costumes and the cheer/subscribe forcing) because I don’t know how to use the maker pen *at all* , but I’m getting better at it. I NEED A MAKER PEN CLASS PLEA-

theory:
you said that the main reason that they are making these rooms is because they want subscribers and don't really care about the tokens. I half agree with this, but i mainly think the reason that there arent many keys is cause they're lazy, i know it sounds dumb but even with me sometimes i will not fully monetize a room because i don't want to sit there typing in multiple keys. it is genuinely easier to make 2 keys and clone a room a bunch of times than to write out new keys every room. You would still technically be making just as much money while putting in less effort.
I recognised one of the profiles and I can confirm after knowing them for like 3 months that they definitely know what their doing.
the sad thing is that some of the owners have SELLER SWAG which really sucks.

I believe that I used to talk to the creator before he made his first room, once he got popular he changed and never stopped publishing and publishing to get more and more subscribers...

May rec room have to do a bot for unpublishing rooms that no one play with or has more inventions than some amount of inventions

1: I Have 1 Or 0 Creator Buttons (Henceforth, Not Forcing People To Subscribe)
2: My Parks Are Simple (Henceforth, Making It Easy To Navigate)
3: My Park's Prices Are Very Low (Henceforth, Making It Easier To Purchase Items)
4: My Parks Are As Fresh As Possible (Henceforth, The Parks Get Updates More Than The Low Effort Rooms)
5: I Include Some Toys For Players To Interact (Only A Limited Quantity, Like 4 Buggies, Some Confetti Guns, A Microphone (If You Have A Microphone) And Some Other Things)

6:16 all the people who build this kinds of rooms have promoters I even used to be one of them they tend to have multiple but they get mostly get paid by being a co in the room

Seems kind of like the Unity problem where the bar to create is lower and the flood of games and asset flips are getting worse.

Mainly they get high visit maps and i heard from builders that they buy and sell maps for large token amounts also i personally know some of these creators because they have tried to buy my maps in the past and ive heard they have made upwards of millions of tokens
Hello BVR, i am a creator myself and know my way around in the creation bit of recroom and yeah sadly i do know a fair bit about the promoters you are mentioning. And I’ll tell you bit about the system and how it works, they abuse the algorithm to push cheap maps out to gain subscribers, once they have subscribers they become promoters and ask people for in game tokens, or actual Real Life Money. Then they will use the map some small creators gave them to get more subscribers and it’s a continuous loop.
For example One of my mates wanted to hire a promoter named Tonic ( also someone you showed in this video ) we went to ask him about it and when we did he said he wanted 1,250,000 Tokens And 30% earnings from the room. Me and my mate had only just started making maps and he had a breakthrough and received 3M from all earnings just prior. However we saw it as outrageous the amout he was asking for, and for a small creator, that’s a lot to put on the table.
I would definitely recommend to any small creators, that when you start off, to just make maps for fun and get your maps popular yourself instead of hiring promoters to do it for you. 😅 but yeah if you read this thanks. Love your videos by the way.

I hate these rooms. I once worked hard on a game only for me to get like 400 subs.
Meanwhile a friend of my friend got over 10k subs for just getting co-owner in a room that is full of inventions,literaly everything is inventions. The only thing made by them is the link button to sub to their account.
These rooms are very annoying. I’m glad that SOMEBODY is covering them they’re all hot garbage.
