Also love the concept of the Renaissance art theme in the Limecrime palette. I mean, one shade is literally called Boticelli. It's the small things that make you rave about something... 😅
plus there is so much more product in the LC one.MR can be panned completely in 6 months, and the price ranges aren't vastly different (At least here in canada).

Your review is so spot on, I agree with everything you said - I have this palette and do like it. My favorite eye looks so far has been to use this palette with a dark taupe/bronze as well as with a deep metallic grey.
I don't know if you own the original Venus palette but I completely understand what youre saying about it being redundant and I think its because the colour scheme works better for 8 pans. I had thee same issue with shimmers in that but I found it to be more red. I dont think ill buy this just because its too similar and my venus is a lot more to the point and compact, but it still calls out to me haha
That’s the way the Venus 2 feels like, kinda dry but they go on really well,interesting because the Venus one feels very soft, almost moist. I’m getting the Venus 3 in the mail so I’m curious how that formula will be like. Great review btw
As a pink eyeshadow lover, to me this palette looks great! I love that they really went for the pink color story full on. This is like the pink version of the Icy Betch palette. I would never buy from Limecrime, but I still enjoyed this review.
I absolutely love that you do the one palette a month videos. It doesn't matter how many millions of eyeshadow videos I watch, I will never have that artist's eye and be able to come up with all the beautiful and creative stuff that you beauty gurus do. I love when you show me many different looks with one palette because then I can try and recreate them when I have the same palette. Which I usually do because YOU probably made me buy it. LOL. it's hard enough to do a palette review with the 1 month 1 palette on the side but both being, well, pink. i'd be so full of pink i'd do black smoky eyes for the next month 😝

This was a palette that I thought hard about buying, do no reget that I bought it, this is one of my staple eyeshadow palette next to the soft glam palette, and pairs well with the soft glam palette due to the lack of some trasition shades and browns. Researched Lime Crime, I've SO been wanting the regular sized pink Venus palette but holy crap...bit the bullet on the Modern Renaissance just now instead, woot.
I have the original Venus and it strange to me that there aren’t any reds when that has two. I agree that the satins can seem very matte, which is ok but lacking as well. Still love it but easier to accept in an eight pan

I am very lucky that I have recently been sent some lovely presents from subs and have been to a few events (like Meccaland) where I have received some generous goodie bags so I have had a lot of new makeup to play with. So it sort of feels like I am not on a low buy lately, but prior to that I found my project pans and 1 month 1 palette videos have kept me wanting to use the same products every day so it was a lot easier than I thought.
I remember a time when Too Faced Pink would send you into a mild rage lmao .. This palette is beautiful .. but I have all of these colours in different CP palettes tbh... the layout and way it looks seems unique until you break it down .. fab,thorough and fair review as always. love youse x
I really really want this palette but I just can’t pull the trigger bc I just don’t like the brand, but damn that is a gorgeous palette. I love all those colors I’m totally ok with overlapping colors. I’m going to wait and see if it ever goes on sale then yes it’s mine. U know another palette I’m dying for is the blood sugar palette but the same issue about the brand, and I know that will never go on sale but the next restock I dont know if I will be able to hold myself back anymore.
I actually like that this is a monochromatic pink palette but they could have done this in an 8 pan palette. I would agree that it lacks variety just seeing the swatches alone

Joy Canadiann - I own a huge amount of their stuff and like it all. It takes up to a week during a sale to ship but always arrives safely. Their matte liquid lipsticks are the standard I hold everything else to.
The XL is, but it is the XL version of the original Venus Palette that came out a year before the ABH MR Palette. Also of note, the Venus II came out before the ABH Subculture, which is also very similar.

Those were very different types of pinks though (like clown pink) and were completely out of place in the palettes haha
