I'm 36 (with siblings a decade older than me) and to this day I thank my parents for playing music in the house always....and they even then were "old school". They didn't move on with the times. Thanks to my dad Neil Diamond's Hot August Night was something I listened to as a baby and to this day it is the best live album ever. My dad and I have a running joke....he listens to what I call "old timer radio"...he laughs and says "Yet you know all the words." He's not wrong. I met a teenager the other day who had no idea who The Beatles were. How is that even a thing? I would rather see an ageing Leo Sayer play at a local pub with is croaky voice and dripping charisma than Cher performing in an arena like a zombie. I hope Robbie Williams ages gracefully and slows down on the mega arena concerts. He peaked at Knebworth and now he's just more of the same.....trying to outdo himself. He should do what Kylie Minogue did years ago and do an Anti-Tour....small pub gigs....hang with the audience after. Now I'm ranting... so sorry.
