Not only do you play well, you also transmit a real joy of playing to the spectators. Everyone who likes to play drums and listen will understand and feel that.
God, I'm 67 and love how good you are at drum covering music from 70's through the 90's. God given talent and a lot of hard work. Someone doesn't get as good as you without putting a large amount of effort in. I've also watched your productions of Perfect Strangers and Sledgehammer . You and your crew did them on the house boat. A very talented bunch. Work hard and smart. You are gonna be rich girl!
Hello, Sina I was 21yrs old when this song was released my younger yrs. You did a beautiful job on the song I was taping my toes to it now and it brought back the good times. Love you, young Lady, 🌹🌹🌹🌹💖💖💖💖💐💐💐💐
I have YEARS of collage into sound.....love the use of piano because of the way it works with the Math in my head how all the sound melts together make something that can make me cry. DRUMS are harder in a band the drums sets the pace of the song/music so the drummer has to both pace themselves and pace the music (and sound good) Thank you Sina
My daughter and son love this song. They both dance and jump around the house...great memories...We watch Surf-up daily, watch Music Video of New Radicals; Have album too; listen to all these different versions when we cruise in the car; looking forward to a great musical career from you Sina...Thank you
Sina all my life I’ve focused on guitar and/or vocals but have now discovered the beauty of drums thanks to you. Plus by doing classic rock covers I get to hear the songs I love from a new perspective. You are an amazing musician. Thank you thank you thank you.
Ah you found your way to my youth here. I love it. Another great 90s song is Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind. Particularly the drumming of that tune. I hope some day I get to see you play that one
It may not be classic rock, but oh my word, this to me is classic Sina. In that its great music with this outstanding drummer doing her thing, so well, as always. I like that you added a touch of your own skills to the mix. It is always wonderful seeing you at work too. watching each strike of the kit. To me it feels like coming home when I get to relax and enjoy a good Sina video. Thanks fot being a part of the good things in my life. Of course a huge thank you to your family and the rest of your team too for all they do in the group effort to keep these great creations coming our way. I am a stranger to you, but to me you all feel like family. I know I am just a fan, and I will of course always respect your privacy! I just mean there is that good family feeling and a sense of home when I have the pleasure following your musical journey week after week after week. I hope that make sense.
Sina is a great drummer now and will only get better with time. She loves what she does ,obviously. The secret to Sina's success is her total appreciation and admiration 😤 for the drummers whose work she interprets. She also does tutorials on drumming and eagerly works talented young musicians from around the 🌎 world to be in many of her videos. May Sina have a long life and a long and successful career.😊❤
Once again I am so excited😁🤗😍 as you find great ways to display your awesome God given talent and share it with all of us we are so blessed. Again thank you, you are an amazing inspiration and give me hope for the future of real drummers, and yes you do have the music in you😛
Always love Sina! You know you’re good in your mind when you almost miss a beat but in a split second the body instantly reacts saving the beat, It took me 10 years to achieve that reaction! The Drums are definitely her element. SHE GIVES A LOT!
My eyes and ears was blessed by this. This has the sound of U2 to me. Sina has such a gift for great song picks. She certianly has the gift of music in her and thanks to Sina for sharing it with all of us.
As a drummer myself I recognized the bit of free forming you [mentioned in the video description] and did near the end of the song and think it worked fine... You have the right to be inspired and perform a song the way you believe it fits your style so... Great 90's song and nicely done by you so thanks for the effort to entertain not only yourself but us as well in the process Sina...
I'm totally blown away by your talent! I used to love playing drum, but no mostly bed bound so sold lot of my instruments because they reminded my of not being able to play anymore! I get mixed feelings watching you play as I love it, but feel the passion of music playing! You also play the music I love! You WILL go far, without a doubt! Thank you for making a bad day/week better! Andy
Was this a hit, one wonders? Why yes, it was! A big one...did you get it? :D THE SONG - "You Get What You Give" was written by Gregg Alexander and Rick Nowels of the alternative rock band New Radicals for their only studio album 'Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too'. Alexander, for all intents and purposes, was the band since he wrote (or co-wrote), sang, and produced all their songs. Keyboardist and percussionist Danielle Brisebois was the only other permanent member. Although she appears in the band's video, she didn't play on this song. Co-writer Nowells played keyboards and sang backup. Recording for 'Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too' took place between 1997 and 1998 and it was released on Oct 16, 1998. "You Get What You Give", as a single, was released on Nov 10, 1998 and was an international hit. It entered Billboard's Hot 100 at #64 on Dec 5, 1998, peaked at #36 on Jan 30, 1999, and was last seen at #90 on Apr 10, 1999. It fared better on Billboard's Modern Rock chart (now called Alternative) hitting #8 on Jan 16, 1999. While "You Get What You Give" is considered to be a one-hit wonder, it was popular among many musicians. U2's The Edge stated that "I really would love to have written that". It earned praises from Joni Mitchell for "rising from the swamp of 'McMusic'" and it was even lauded, in 2006, by Ice-T. Alexander deliberately provoked controversy with the song's closing lyrics that call out Marilyn Manson, Beck, Courtney Love and Hanson as fakes. Other musicians on the song included lead guitarist Rusty Anderson, who is better known as the lead guitarist of Paul McCartney, and drummer Gary Ferguson, who did session work for Glenn Hughes, Gary Moore, Cher, Little Richard, Ray Charles, Larry Carlton and Steve Lukather among many others. THE DRUMMER - Gary Ferguson began playing drums at the age of 11. He started doing session work in Los Angeles. His first major session, at age 18, was for Shirley Bassey. In addition to his work with the previously mentioned artitsts, he is part of the drum faculty of the Los Angeles College of Music. Sina is back from her vacation and Rosanna had a brief chat. Was she very familiar with "You Get What You Give"? Sina said, "I've heard this song on the radio a few times, but we don't own the album." Rosanna also asked about the double bass drum addition in the end part. Sina explained, "I try to prevent my drum covers from being boring. When the audience has to look at the drummer for the whole song, sometimes it's not enough to play what the original drummer did. When you record a video of a song, sometimes you have to have a different approach to the recording. So, I added the double bass pattern to make the video more interesting." Well, I don't know about you guys, but I haven't seen a boring Sina drum cover yet and anytime a musician can add a creative or unique touch to a cover, it does make it more interesting. In this case, it's an improvement! FUN FACT - Although New Radicals was a one-hit wonder, don't feel bad for Gregg Alexander. He co-wrote (with Rick Nowels) "The Game of Love" by Santana and Michelle Branch. That song was a big hit and won a Grammy in 2003. THE ICON - (originally from Oct 20, 2017) - This is Katie Tavara, the younger sister of Nicolette, our original masked lady! Katie is a rep for Iconomed. They supply everything from catheters to CAT Scanners, and she dropped by to see if the Iconology Clinic needed anything. She's wearing one of their latest products, an anti-catarrh mask. Katie told us that her sister had recently been to Catalonia and Kathmandu and would be back from vacation in a couple of weeks.
I agree, I have never seen Sina, boring, at anytime, Sina is always fun and exciting to watch, and has many great talents, not just the drums. but as great and as talented Sina is music wise, Sina is a far better person, Sina is always giving and doing for others, Sina is always very kind, very caring, and very polite.
Right Lonnie. you nailed it. And that's what makes her more than a drummer, but an actual bonified musician. And you're right, she really is like that. She's totally authentic. PS: Juliet and Rosanna- Wow! You really had to dig for this one, didn't you! Bravo! Enjoyed it! The odd part is that I actually remember "The New Radicals". Or is it the "Young Rascals" I'm thinking of? Not sure. :)
Wow! When you said *Danielle Brisbois* I wondered if it was Little Stephanie from _All In The Family, and Musical Annie_ It Is! Thank you for informing us!
Hello Sina! It must be a great happiness to play your favorite songs and perform them as you feel it add your energy to this song! Sina, I agree with you 100% (and happy for you) that does not have to contain yourself and your emotions and thoughts in the process of working and recording songs, in this moment and there is a creation, and this distinguishes a great musician from the ordinary which can only play other people's music! Sina I wish you not to stop your creative flow (potential) and play (improvise) as you feel, I do not doubt for a second that you can easily cope with this, because you have this creative energy, the energy of a good, bright and pure person-a musician with a capital letter! Thank you Sina for that! P.S. And the sound of drums, as always good!
*1,2, 1,2,3 Owwwwww* Indeed a song worthy of your resume Sina. The original video recorded in 1998 was at a mall my friends and I went to often here in NY. The Staten Island Mall. Back in the day it was *THE* place to be. The New Radicals' front man Gregg Alexander said he chose this setting because he sees the shopping mall as a metaphor for society-a fake, controlled environment engineered to encourage spending. Pretty much hasn't changed since! But hey as kids it was a blast to hang out in! As always a joy to watch you perform. It's an absolute thing of beauty when your arms are out horizontally and you hit those double crashes perfectly! A few times it appeared as if you wanted to get behind the mic and join the vocals. That would have been a treat. Very catchy tune that makes you want to sing and dance. Only problem I have with this is that you didn't ask me to collab on it. I'm pretty sure when this is up on karaoke no one can sing this as well as me! Not kidding either! :) Hope you had a blast on the slopes and can't wait to have you back!
Steve J ...and the other thing that I remember about them was that on piano was Danielle Brisbois, who was a child actress on All In The Family/Archie Bunker’s Place.
I’m not a drummer, but I have ears to hear & eyes to see. I hear some exceptional drum covers and I see a young beautiful lady charming performing this all. Two very strong reasons to write and express my gratitude. Sina, thanks so much for this wonderful music, you’re an enrichment. I think your talent is beyond doubt, in many regards. I think this song mentioned you too, Sina..."you got the music in you"! Love to see you go on with your activities. Thanks…
Sina, you did well appointing your dad and Milena to cover your covers..lol. This song was just a nice easy break for me.. cute toe tapping beat and I am glad you like us all cuz..... we "are weird" You play so effortlessly, like you are part of your kit.. so smooth and spot on timing. So relaxed like it is second nature to you and that makes watching you so much enjoyable. Like walking down the street on a sunny day smiling. So I hope you and your mum had a great time and you are rested and all the pressures of the world lifted off you shoulders and now home, you are feeling great. As always Sina, you bring another dimension to drumming... "FUN !!!" You take care...

She's great but I don't get why people crow about their nations crumbs of credibility? I'm English but I don't plant on Floyd of Beatles uploads that they are from the UK?
Your right Sina, the phone doesn't do it justice. This song comes alive when you listen to it through speakers and subs. Not a popular song, but I love the beat and the little touch of your own. Milena done an amazing job while you were taking some time off. Glad to have you back!
A nice glimpse of impeccable technique as performed by our Empress of Drums... Nice fills, nice cymbal hits and a play on bass drum towards the end..... Very enjoyable... I look forward to your next presentation next week......
Sina. As usual, you always know when to add "little bits and pieces" to the drumming and it adds more to the drum beat so as not to make it repetitive. Great cover song.
One of my all-time faves :) I'm a guitarist (have been for 20 years) and I love playing this song on guitar! I never realized how much drumming went into this song, tbh. As for this song's status of being "classic rock", this song is 22 years old now, so I think it can be called that by some

I closed my eyes and it was 1998 all over again... couldn’t stop my tapping foot... didn’t want to! Thank you Sina!
I'm totally blown away by your talent! I used to love playing drum, but no mostly bed bound so sold lot of my instruments because they reminded my of not being able to play anymore! Nice Sina! I enjoyed your cover. It is a nice track from 1998. I visited London for the first time back then - brings back memories ;)

Have to admit I’d totally forgotten this tune. But as per usual you blow me away with your drumming talent!! Well done!
Sina. As usual, you always know when to add "little bits and pieces" to the drumming and it adds more to the drum beat so as not to make it repetitive. Great cover song.
Great job I'm almost 55 that brings back a lot of memories keep up the good work

One of my all-time faves :) I'm a guitarist (have been for 20 years) and I love playing this song on guitar! I never realized how much drumming went into this song, tbh. As for this song's status of being "classic rock", this song is 22 years old now, so I think it can be called that by some
I love this song and the bass guitar in it and especially Sina’s perfect drumming.
Thank you Sina!
I love this song too - way to go, love the choice this week :)

I have loved rock music from when I was a very young child. Thanks for delving into the songs that are not " regular " fare. Love that ending piece you added.
