- In the earlier Viper startup video, it was a long and detailed procedure. Although by-the-book, there may be times when you just want to get in the air as fast as possible from a ramp start. This video is one potential process.

As someone who actively works on F-16s and is engine run qualified, this is essentially 100% accurate to the real life thing and this is amazing.

That is a fast startup. External lights can be added to this quick one I think.

@@MattWagner I agree. The quick startup should only contain the bare necessities to get the plane flying and in working order. Lights and navigation setups are just icing. I liked this video :)

Thanks! I spent about an hour troubleshooting the external lights to find out they are not working. It is ok if things are not working, just please let us know. Also found out there are 3 different radio menus, not mentioned anywhere.

Once you remember it, you can start the Viper in 1 minute or less... The only thing that will delay us in the future is the INS :)

throttle from OFF to IDLE is "RIGHT" shift + HOME (not LEFT shift)

Can you do one for a quick engine stop, re-arm re-fuel and startup for online... where no need to realign ins etc etc. Just pure engine off and spool up.

Hi Matt, could you guys please fix that blacking-out-to-soon thing which is pretty annoying? Not only in the Viper but in all the modules, real pilots endure way more G's than in DCS without blacking out... I don't think this is something complicated to do just push the sliders a bit! thx
Im sorry im new, what do I set the radio knbos and lights to, starting with the permission to start from the tower? If I don't they tower starts with hold position none stop.

Two things I can't startup this mission. I cannot close the canopy, and throttle Idle what you said, but it doesn't worked I don't know why?
You say that you can't close the canopy with LeftCtrl+C and get the throttle to idle position with RightShift+Home?
Wags, I’ve noticed your missions, even trivial and basically just training missions, have some nice details in them like other jets around, ground items, static objects as well. Is there some sort of template you make or do you just randomize what you put in and make it just fly random places?

Hey Wags, nice video. Just wondering whether you could answer a question for me? How do I change the Barometric subscale pressure for the altimeter on the HUD?
Below the HUD and the ICP you have your analog altitude, there you can change you altimeter setting.
@@SnaxDesAvions I have tried changing the subscale on the altimeter below the ICP but it does not change the readout in the HUD. Seems they are not connected.

@@MattWagner oh crap, so the current TGP will only ever be able to be mounted on the central position, and not a cheek one? Cheers.
@@BeavPlays. We simulate the USN and USMC Horent, and the USMC only mounts the TGP on the centerline. The USN does not use the Litening. However, if time allows once the much more critical items are addressed, it's something we can look into (no promises). Thanks

So what happens if you don't wait for 60% on the RPM before switching on all the electronics? Say I jump the gun and start turning on all the electronics at 50%?
They'll run on the battery instead of the generator. You get about 5-10 minutes of battery power before it runs out so unless you turn them all on and go take a shit before you start the engine up you'll be fine.

You forgot in our version we need COMM1 and COMM2 to squelch (under throttle), to silence the brutal noise in the cockpit

When I watch video about aircraft carrier (ex. F-18) I see many people operating close to the aircraft and this is very realistic instead in the airports for F-16 is not it? I remember that in a video there were people and military vehicles in action 🙄🙏

@@MattWagner Oh no, I think I maybe formulated my sentence wrong (I speak dutch natively) or you misinterpreted me. My F16C works just fine. I'm a new pilot and in the training mission you (I think it's you) asks me to test every system instead of this more quick startup so I just said why would you even test all of the systems and not just do this if you can't get an engineer over to fix the plane if it doesn't. But maybe you can, I don't know haha It wouldn't suprise me!

My radio has a noise, that I can't turn off after do all this
there's 2 knobs under the throttle turn them both to SQL and that static should go away
Look under the radio & you'll see 2 dials comm 1 & comm 2. Switch em both right to stop the squelch/static noise. Had same issue at first till i fiddled with every knob lol. Hopefully adjusted in future to the default position.

Arming the seat while under a roof is a recipe for disaster.

@TheoremGames Unless the a/c cannot be safely stopped, I think most pilots irl would opt for emergency ground egress (see F-16 Fight Manual, pg 3-29) to a static ground ejection.

A 5 minute align defeats a quick start. You had it started in 2 minutes, then will have to sit there waiting for 5 minutes. I'd like to suggest a much shorter align time that can be enabled in the misc settings for the aircraft for those of us that want to quick start and get in the air. Thanks Wags!
A later alignment option will be the stored one that is only 2-minutes. Thanks
In the real F-16 you can do a 2-minute alignment with the data cartridge inserted.
Also there's an in-flight alignment.
Not precise but you can do basic navigation with that.

No. I don't for the same reason I skip the checks and do a rapid startup which is what this video is all about. Most people have lives and want to get the bird in the air. If you enjoy sitting around waiting, that's up to you, I have flying to do. I couldn't care less about your need to sit there for 5 minutes not sure why you are so bothered that you had to comment about me and others who want quick align to go along with our quick startup.
