Pssst my book content viewers are my favorite 📚🖤
❤
Happy to be a member of the special few🫶 Your book videos are the BEST!
I watch all content on this channel anyway, but the book ones are always special. 😁📚
love the book content ❤️
we love you queen!!! ✨🖤🫶🏼
As much as I love Movie Sarah, I'm happy to see more of Book Sarah❤
a new possessed by horror book video?? I’m sat 🪑
I love your little book nook for filming. Added you on Goodreads a while ago and it motivates me so much to read more.
Thanks so much for continuing to talk about fanfiction! I feel like it is still stigmatized so I love to see more people embracing it and talking about it. It still blows my mind that people are out here writing and sharing quality, novel-length fics just for the joy of it.
I was thinking this too!
"found footage" is often referred to as epistolary in the book world. So that may help you find other similar books!
I loved Our Wives Under the Sea, I can't wait to hear your thoughts 😊
Tender is the flesh was so so good. Cannot wait to hear what you think.
Agreed!! Read it first and make a vid! 😁
Just a heads up, Fantasticland is waaaay more enjoyable as an audiobook! It's very dense when reading it physically because it's just constant walls of text with no dialogue, but it flows brilliantly in audio form ❤
Agree, the narrators did an amazing job with the audio. I actually disliked the book until I switched to the audio half way in and then I had a good time with it
I loved I who Have Never Known Men. I almost cried at the scene where the narrator was talking to God, where she was saying how lonely she was. That sudden burst of emotion from an unemotional character caught me off guard.
Can’t wait for the February reading vlog!
I have two girls, ages 3 and 1, and I've recently been able to find more time to read horror books again, and I love that you've been doing these reviews to add (or remove) from my tbr list.
Totally agree about the covers for Our Wives Under the Sea, I specifically bought the uk edition as well lol. Excited to hear your thoughts on it!
i who have never known men was one of the books i read last year and it quickly became one of my favorites of all time, so incredibly devastating but so human. i’m so glad you enjoyed it, would love to hear more of your interpretation of the actual content of the book!
I knew you would love Episode Thirteen! Normally when I hear people say "I just couldn't put it down" I'm skeptical...but I literally could not put it down! I loved it so much
I Who Have Never Known Men was such a haunting read. It became one of my favorites right away. It is a short book, but there were many times I had to put the book down and just think about what I read. I also wanted to cry at the end. 💔 Update: Our Wives Under the Sea is another fantastic read, another favorite!!
I support you doing this whenever you read a few books! ❤ I’m here for your little booktube moments
really love that you're making book content because it keeps me excited and involved in reading!! also i just trust your reviews lol idk this space just feels like a little book club and i really like it :') also to be devoured and tender is the flesh are both 5 stars for me!! hopefully you like them too
I started reading again after years of neglecting it and I finished three books in January! Which is a new record for adult me! I actually just started I Who Have Never Known Men and it's already so good, I've found myself thinking about it when not reading which is always a good sign. I think the next one I want to try is Children of Blood and Bone because I've heard really good things. Happy reading!
I think it’s important to note for Parasite, that they were serial novellas that were just binded up for this book. You find more out in the later stories in it
It’s not a singular cohesive story
I just listened to the audiobook for Episode Thirteen! They recorded sound effects for the video footage, which was super cool. It definitely made it scarier for me.
I loved To Be Devoured, it's one of those for me that ever so often it pops in my mind and and I'm like that book was amazing. Just stays with you.
I've added Episode Thirteen to my TBR list!
I love that you've been posting book girly content. I've been following you for like 8 years for horror movie recs but i also love books so this is perfect. 😍
Gone to See the River Man is so good. For me, it was rather jaw dropping. So good.
added In Ascension to my want to read list! so excited to see your extreme horror month review too
Our Wives Under the Sea is so good! It's one of those books that's stuck with me ever since I read it. Fantasticland also has a really good audiobook -- it's full cast.
Yessss I loved Episode Thirteen! I also wish I could relive the last 1/4 for the first time. Mind blowing!
Tender is the Flesh was AWESOME! Heart-breaking but SO good. I cried at the end.
Waif is REALLY weird. And a bit gruesome. But definitely an interesting read.
Gone To See The River Man was VERY dark! The ending had me like 😳
I am excited because I started watching you for horror movie reviews but stick around for book reviews! How fun! I love reading. ❤
So excited to hear that you're going to read "Tender is the Flesh", it has a lot of social commentary thats wrapped up in the extreme horror, I hope you like it!! I read "Fantasticland" last year and it definitely was a quick fun read! 🖤
I hope there's more book videos like this from you! ❤ I look forward to these if you keep it up! You're so comforting!
My favorite January read was "We Used to Live Here" by Marcus Kliewer! It was so good and is truly one of the best psychological thrillers I've ever read! Keep up the great work! I really enjoy your content! ✨
I'm so happy you loved Episode Thirteen! I think I picked it up based on one of your like TBR videos last year and I was obsessed with it. Such a fun idea with all the different types of media to tell the story.
Love your content, and I'm so happy you're posting more bookish videos 🖤✨
Im soooo excited for you to read Tender Is the Flesh and Our Wives Under the Sea. I loved both of them so much.
Everytime you talk about how you're a writer I get so excited to one day read your books
Also very excited to hear about the cannibalism books- I've heard Hannibal fanfiction is top notch if you ever watched it!
As much as I love your movie videos, as someone that reads a lot, I’m so glad your continuing to post book content. I’m also happy that someone else loves Episode Thirteen 🎉. Great choice in books for February. I’ve read them all but To Be Devoured. Enjoy 😊.
So excited for the extreme horror vlogs!
yesss cannot wait for your reading vlogs ♥♥
Reading vlogs!! Can't wait
Can’t wait for the next book reviews!
Appreciate the reading update!
gone to see the river man is INSANE, it has a lot of commentary on true crime which i think you’ll enjoy
in january i got back into reading, specifically horror books so i'm super excited for your reading vlogs and monthly wrap ups
I love the book reviews 😍. Can't wait to add this books, to my overcrowded tbr shelf lol
I just bought the paperback of Episode Thirteen and I can’t wait to start reading it! Thank you for your book recommendations and really looking forward to more videos on this genre :)
That was exactly my experience with episode thirteen! I started it in September but got bored and read two other books before picking it up again a week ago and I’m HOOKED. Like once it starts, it starts
Loved Episode 13 and YES!! Read Fantasticland soon. I loved that so good and how it was written. It actually made me want to write a book in that style. You'll love it
I love your book content videos, i'm a big fan of these, hopefully you keep making them!! And i'm sooo excited for the vlog of you reading extreme horror, it sounds like so much fun!
You actually brought me back to reading! I read A short stay in hell (very good!) and I am currently reading we used to live here and I am HOOKED! Thank you for your reviews! 🙂
to be devoured, waif, river man, and tender is the flesh were all five stars for me ❤ i hope you love them!!!
i really love your book content! it makes me so happy to see my favorite youtubers talk about books that ive read
tender is the flesh was my first 5 star read of this year! the 2nd half of the book had me HOOKED. currently reading i who have never known men!!
Tender is the Flesh f'ed me up and I loved it. I can't wait to hear what you think about it.
Immediately adding Episode Thirteen to my TBR! Eric LaRocca is incredible. I really loved At Dark, I Become Loathsome as well. Yellowface is also incredible! You really had a great reading month!
I'm honestly very excited that you're posting more book content this year since I have also started reading a lot more this year! I'm especially looking forward to seeing more of your recommendations since all of the ones I've read so far, which you have previously recommended, have been absolutely amazing! 😄
I am loving your bookish content!
I had no idea Dramione was a thing before your last video. Completely obsessed with Manacled. It got me out of a very long reading slump. Love the new shelf and all the amazing book content you are sharing! So many books I’m excited to read. Thank you ❤
Omg I absolutely love this for you!! So glad I could introduce you haha but also I’m sorry😅
I read Salems Lot after DNFing it 3 years ago and honestly I wish I had left it on the shelf! There's so little of anything going on even when the climax hits.
The Midnight Feast had to be my favorite of January, and I'm currently reading Project Hail Mary, which is probably going on my faves of the year!
I read Our wives under the sea last fall and HATED it. It felt like it was endlessly building up to a very unsatisfying ending. It does explore grief of being with someone who deteriorates in front of your eyes, but it feels like it didn’t fully explore this topic either. Put me into a reading slump too :(
I'm so excited to hear your thoughts on Tender is the Flesh! I'm very sensitive but managed to read it and didn't get traumatized. Although I had to take breaks from it once in a while because it did make me kinda nauseous. But that's how powerful the writing is and I think the social commentary in that book is so important and interesting that a little bit of nausea was worth to read it.
I'm thrilled with the book content! Please keep it coming. If you started a book club, I'd join it immediately. Also, I loved the Fern cameo. My daughter is around the same age, and hearing Ferns little voice made me miss her (she's napping) lol
Just popping in to say I love your book related videos and I always look forward to them! I can’t wait to see you read some extreme horror in february, Gone to See the River Man and Tender is the Flesh are two of my all time favourites ❤
I started reading Episode Thirteen when you showed it on your TBR a while ago. I got so scared with the first "encounter" that made them leave the house and I didn't go back. I'll need to go back now!
i love your book content! i've picked up several of these books in the past, so it's great to hear your thoughts, and i'm VERY curious to watch the extreme horror video. it's also cracking me up and making me so happy that your love of fan fiction is shining through more and more (as a fellow early 30s fic reading/writing woman....it's our right it's our domain). also appreciate that you avoid criticism or making it into a review, that feels much more appropriate and very respectful towards the people who are writing it completely for fun. ty for the video!
I love your book reviews. I also loved Yellowface and I who have never known men. I am very excited for you to read Tender is the flesh, it was my favorite book of 2022!
I could just listen to your talk about any genre, book or film alike. But when it’s horror books, it has a special place in my heart. Horror books are probably my favourite media there is 🤍
Omg yayyy I commented about episode thirteen a while ago I knew you would love it!! You gotta check out the audiobook, it adds so much!!
So excited for your reading vlogs! Loving the book content💜 I’m currently on an ocean horror kick and reading Mira Grant’s Into the Drowning Deep and I’m obsessed! I think you’d really like it if you’ve never read it before, it’s about killer mermaids
these videos make me so happy! Love the book content. I have had Episode 13 sitting on my shelf for over a year and really need to get to it now.
The cameo at 20 minutes
I’m here for the monthly recap - & the “change of scenery” backdrop 💜
Love the book reviews❤
If you liked Yellowface, you might also like Babel (also by R.F Kuang). I thought about that book for months after I finished it! 😅 So good!
More book content please ❤❤❤
Episode 13 was AMAZING! I was a little unsure on the ending right after I finished it. But after sitting with it for a few days I actually loved it. 5*
I feel so ill and down right now and this has cheered me up! I love your book content, your Riley Sager video got me back into reading ❤
I don’t even read that much but there’s smth about your book reviews that I love so muchh
I love these videos even though we have very different reading genres!
I loved Episode Thirteen! 📚
I NEED to get back to reading. I'm jotting some of these down 📝 ✨️
Look up triggers for gone to see the river man, there is a scene/sub plot that could be triggering!
Been watching your videos for a while because our interests in movies have always aligned (huge found footage and space moves fan) so I’m pumped to see our book interests align as well! I am so happy you enjoyed Episode 13. As Above So Below is one of my favorite films and I loved how end of Episode 13 gave off AASB vibes. I know you have been reading and watching lot of grief centered media lately and so I wanted to recommend two novels I read in January I absolutely loved that centered on grief. The first was The Fisherman by John Langan and the second is Whalefall by Daniel Kraus. These were both excellent reads and really set my reading year off on a good start (plus if a book can make me tear up it gets moved up my “I should recommend this list”). Really looking forward to your extreme horror reading vlogs, have been wanting to read some of those titles but not sure I’m ready to dive back into extreme horror after reading Dead Inside by Chandler Morrison last year. Love the book content alongside movie content! ❤
omg Sarah being a thriller reader... a dream for me as a long time follower
I'm reading Tender is the Flesh right now, only a chapter in. Now it feels like we're in a book club haha
Coincidentally Tender is the Flesh was my favorite read of January!! Hope you love it! If you find yourself needing an additional extreme horror Bluejay by Megan Stockton is a wild romp. Very Hostel-esque and also a very short.
From what I've heard about Gone to See the Riverman I don't think you'll like it, there's a reveal that made me very glad I didn't pick it up myself!
Our Wives under the Sea is amazing though ❤
Some other books I would recommend are The Luminous Dead, The Hollow Places and We Used to Live Here!
I love Book Sarah💗
As a reader, these are my favorite type of videos
Also Yellowface is one of my favorite books. Taste!!
I’ve had Parasite on my shelf for over a year and I’ve been scared to pick it up. Knowing it’s fast paced helps me though! Also Tender is the Flesh is good and Gone to see the River Man is wild!
Yaaaay i love the book related videos 🙏✨️
Yayyy another book themed video!!! Episode 13 was a 5 star for me too! Both that and Fantasticland have 2 of the best audibooks I've ever listened to. I know it seems like you don't use audio but both are full cast and really add a lot to the experience. So if you ever wanna re-read Episode 13, I highly recommend giving audio a shot and same with your first time read of Fantasticland! Great wrap up! Excited to hear what you think of those extreme books 👀🙌. I read 10 books in January and my two favorites were December by Phil Rickman and Guests by Kealan Patrick Burke (that one deals with grief, amongst other things). Awesome video ❤
Fantasticland was a lot of fun!
reading vlogs?? did i heard that right? IM SO EXCITED OMG
YES I’m going to try my best haha
Yay book content!!!! I love this 😊
My favorite January read was Crossroads by Laurel Hightower. A small, but mighty book that explores a mothers devastating grief and the lenghths she goes to just to see her son again
Thank you! Keep it coming with book content. 👏🏼🩷
The audiobook for fantastic land is incredible!
Waiffff sounds so good!
When you’re explaining books or movies, I got questions in my mind … you answer them right after. ☺️❤️
