My favorite player growing up
A fine pitcher. A pro.
Imagine this guy pitched in a league with Clemens, Johnson, and Martinez and was consistent as any of them. A quiet winner.
Mussina had horrible timing.
Joins the yanks the year after they win the WS. Then retires the year before they win the WS.
Mussina is one of the unluckiest pitchers to ever take the MLB mound! He had several perfect games/no-hitters squandered in the last inning. He suffered through the brutal 2001 WS loss in the 9th inning. He suffered through the brutal ALCS collapse to Boston in 2004 after blowing a 3 game lead. He retired in 2008, and the Yankees win the Series in 2009! That's shit luck!
