I been planning a replay of all 3 games before we get dreadwolf. And ive never modded origins before so im excited to give some of these a try! The bug fix mods seem like overall just an amazing thing to have. I also saw theres a respec mod, that will be a godsend for optimizing the party as well. Tha ks for that last section, these seem like some pretty interesting ones, especially the return to ferelden mod.
My essential mods video has all the really important mods I always use, and this video has some extra ones I like. Glad you enjoyed it! I'll probably make another video sometime soon about more mods I use in DAO since people seem really interested in modding 😊
Everyone has different preferences on which quests and areas they like 😂 for example I love the deep roads even though many people hate them! And I actually like the Fade - my main issue is the bonus attribute fonts that require a lot of backtracking. If I don't get them I feel like I'm missing out, so I mainly use the mod to streamline the experience. I heard there's another mod that lets you get all the shapes from the mouse so you don't have to backtrack much for the attribute fonts. Will have to give that one a try!
@@nazaG_89 nah i Heard complaints all the way Back from when DA 2 and DAI were being marketed with developers themselves saying they "fixed" the fade Levels. They didnt.
IMPORTANT NOTE: someone mentioned that these are NexusMods, and that commenter wrongly believed you have to be a paid user to be able to download them. That's not true AT ALL. I have a free account on NexusMods and have been able to download any DAO mod manually with no issue. Idk if the person was thinking of the faster download speed or some other paid feature. But let me reiterate that all these mods are FREE to download.
"Skip the Fade" - sweeter words were never said. I think this'll be my first and only mod I install for DAO, the nostaligia is too much for me to start messing with visuals. Thanks for making this vid and making me aware I can skip the Fade section!
It was one of the first mods I ever installed! I also recommend the fix mods that I mentioned in my essential mods video (Dain's fixes - just the bugfixes from here, Qwinn's ultimate dao fixpack, and Advanced Tactics) because they just fix issues the game has without changing the look and feel of the game. Obviously the devs didn't mean to ship the game with all those bugs, lol, so it's nice to see what the game would've been like if they had more time to resolve all the bugs!
Oooh thank youuu, next time I play this wonderful game I'll include the Return to Ferelden mod as well now that I have finished DA2 and DAI since last time I played Origins :D
Be sure to read all the documentation for the mod before you use it, though! It's a HUGE mod and it has so many different things that it does, plus it's not very thoroughly tested so it's a bit janky too. But definitely give it a try, it's been super interesting to play around with it!
Hah 😅 everyone has their preferences! To be fair, I like the story of what's going on in the Fade. What I don't like is all the attribute fonts that you have to go back to get after you got all the shapes, because yeah they're optional but it feels bad if you don't get them :(
Would be nice if you could add the mod links in the description, at least to make it easier to browse them 😄 And I remember years ago using mods like Improved Atmospheres and some QoL / bug fix mods like Advanced Tactics, I wonder if they're still around and working well
Oh! I wasn't sure if it would be okay to put external links in my description, but I'll definitely add them when I get the chance 😊 for sure, Improved Atmosphere and the QoL mods are still up on the Nexus and working just fine!
@btiermutineer it should be ok for the links, plenty of videos add them alongside the names 😁 I haven't played this game since 2019 at least, I'm glad there are still mods for it, your lists provided good infos and examples 🙏🏻
I believe that if you only use some parts of the Unofficial Remaster, then you should be able to use it in combination with Theta HD. For example, I don't like the various model changes the Remaster makes (like the Inquisition deep mushroom and lyrium vein models), so for those I just want the vanilla version of them to be higher res and use the Theta HD files for them. This can be a hassle for some people, so of course you can just choose one mod or the other.
@@ductusfructus oh boy, it took me a good while to find this out for you because I originally didn't remember, then realized it was from the Leliana's Song DLC but couldn't tell you from my audio files since I only have a few "mixes" of Leliana's Song tracks. Finally found the answer, though: it's the track called Leliana's Song from the Leliana's Song DLC! Not to be confused with the DAO track "Lelianna's Song". This is, I believe, meant to be the theme song of the DLC. Edit: there's also a very similar track in terms of melody that's much slower and sadder called "Sorrow" in the same DLC.

@@r4vu3 historically there is no such thing as boob plate. Plus you got the facts wrong: if boob plate was being used, then it would cave in and crush the chest of the person wearing the armor. Sorry, I only have a 1080p monitor so I can't tell you whether this will work well or not, but on NexusMods I found a mod called Nathanael's 4K Resolution Mod. You can try this one (make sure to read the description since it gives some extra details about resolutions there). If it doesn't work, try searching either "UI" or "4k" on NexusMods. If you search 4k there will also be stuff like 4k cinematic videos and other things, but there may be another 4k resolution mod out there.
The greataxe seems to be a regular Dal'Thanaan (or something that has the Dal'Thanaan model). Of course, with fire runes. The armor is the Shielded Dwarven Armor that you can get from Owen in Redcliffe. Really not sure about the weapon but I don't have that save anymore so Dal'Thanaan is my best guess!
@@christopherwyatt9754 there is a non-circle mage mod which allows you to play a mage as any origin (unfortunately this includes the dwarf origins, but you can just ignore those). The mod is by "youinquisitorialness", it's called "Non-Circle Mage Origins", and can be found on NexusMods.

''Pants for women'' Truly amazing mod right there...
I mean, have you seen those skirts they have to wear in the game? They're so bad 😂
I'd also recommend the 'Of Ferelden' mods, especially Grey Wardens Of Ferelden. I love having real grey warden armor in my dao campaign!
Skip the Fade: me nervously sweating cause its my favorite part

It depends on whether you want the optional files or not! I personally also wanted the optional files so I downloaded them.
