Coming back to it, the 16’ Traversbass is incredible. The slow attack, the gentle purring, the beautiful harmonic retinue….
Watching this video yet again, I’m still astounded at the amount of colour available between individual stops - and combining only two or three of these already characterful stops produces even more variety of colour. It’s incredible, and more modern organ builders should take note of this.
You almost pull the entire organ down when drawing a stop knob 😂
The glockenspiel played all of it's notes at once!

Indeed. I was going to mention that. I have a large poster of the St Bavo organ at the top of the stair entrance to my home. It's a bit faded after 32 years but I will never remove it.

Amazing organ with a unique stop selection. The 12' stop basically is a Resultant, playing a fifth above the 16' stop making it sound like a 32' stop on the lower notes of the pedalboard. And the glockenspiel is cool too.
The registers of this organ, from the 18th century, are truly extraordinary of great sound beauty, to be taken into account to be taken into account by any current master organist, thanks once again Balint for your teaching. Greetings friend, from Spain 💖

This has an extremely majestic sound, i think because of the thiccness of the basses

One of the more interesting organs that you have showed us. A great deal of sound colours available in the stops as solo stops and especially in combination. The builder may have been young but he was certainly a great thinker! Thanks for making this video. I thoroughly enjoyed listening and learning about this interesting organ. I have it on a few discs and will revisit them again.

I always appreciation your detailed demonstrations. The space doesn't seem to have much reverberation, yet it appears to be a fair sized interior with hard surfaces.

Balint I hope this organ was as great to play as it looks and sounds. It looks like a really great restoration, and after checking your sources it seems the Schuke firm is back on track to do some great work. They've certainly had their ups and downs over the decades!

When demonstrating an organ, you are never in a hurry, giving us time to savour the sound of individual ranks and combinations that enhance them. The graphics showing the stops being played are very helpful. You have set the standard, Balint; one or two other organists have begun doing likewise, perhaps taking a hint from you!
