Oh yes. And we’ll all be buying the fishing rod from Dr. Wu or shockwave’s lab or wheeljack’s lab when they show up then 86 hotrod will have literally everything the MP has and more.
I like that the mainline toys are chasing the Masterpiece aesthetic, and actually capturing much of it! It's way easier on the wallet and more sensible than the Masterpieces trying to be toys and failing.
Masterpieces are High End Collectables not Toys though. Only thing you can really do with them is Pose... Pose... Pose... Pose! I have MP's I have NEVER transformed out of Fear.
@@Fenris30 Exactly. Good god, the new Transformers are like complex puzzles to transform. It's truly amazing, especially having grown up with the fairly simple G1 toys. What a great figure!
I'm very impressed with the way the figure looks and how it is designed/engineered. I love that this figure was made with care and patience because I love when they take their time with the paint and actually gives us silver paint instead of gray plastic. If this is the standard throughout the studio series 86 line, I will be very happy and pleased and will gladly pay money for the figures!

It's small enough, and the hollow cavity has the perfect amount of free real estate to hold it and close back up just fine! doesn't jiggle around in there either. it's not intentional storage obviously, but you can do it!
@@xblade4266 I just picked up Jazz, Kup, Blurr and Hotrod from Walmart… I like all of them and they absolutely got Hotrod right!! Can’t wait to find the others.

I totally agree. I thought this Hot Rod was like a mini masterpiece for a fraction of the price. I convinced my buddy who's been wanting the masterpiece version to buy this instead.
Must admit these are the first Studio Series bots I've been genuinely excited about. Pity they couldn't carve out a space in his chest to store the matrix, but as a figure he looks good. Be nice to see him next to Sergeant Kup.
Ironically, not only is the chest visible on the underside accurate to the film (its always been mirrored), but the *entire arm transformation* is actually accurate as well. The entire front of the car actually spins around for transformation in the film, and I think this is the first time that's been done in a figure.
I love your channel and videos. Anytime I pick up a new Transformer I pitch the instructions and watch your videos to figure out how to transform. You, sir, are a public service and a national treasure.
This quite catched how he transforms after he fixed Kup at Quintessa in the movie, with the arms twisted round while transforming.. 😄 nice! *edit* Hope SS do Rodimus Prime, too!

I'll admit, I wasn't crazy about this toy when it was first revealed, but seeing more and more of it over time... I am tempted to replace my TR Hot Rod with this.
Titans Return Hot Rod looked nothing like the movie animation, but they were going for a different aesthetic, which I appreciated, especially for the Headmasters and Targetmasters. I'm definitely getting this for it's screen accuracy and it certainly makes a great addition anyone's TF collection.
I love this figure and I own all the Hot Rods/Rodimus figures with the exceptionof the DX9 Carry which I regret not getting. This is the ONLY Hot Rod they did the visor right on by making it dark enough to actually obscure his eyes. Great review
I wasn't sold on the idea of the Studio Series 86 line. Not that I had a problem with it, but I already have versions of the figures being released in it and didn't see the need to double dip. The fact that they're available in this month's Previews catalog and that I've ordered them is clear enough proof that I've changed my mind. Also, the fact that Hot Rod's Matrix isn't bloosh compatible may be more due to mold degradation or loose joints rather than the fact that it's not designed that way.
2:40 I thought the hood will become the chest in robot mode. Haha!
