I have the SS and it's like a mini masterpiece, love it. On the other hand, the only think I complain from the MP is the proportion of its legs with the rest of the body, the arms and torso should have been a little shorter for the entire body to properly fit and avoid look so deformed but I still like it, maybe I get it
Habros version if MP09 was my 1st ever madterpiece figure and i loved it . Its what convinced me to become a collector i liked it that much , well until a bit down the line when i picked it up and its arms litterally fell off for no reason other than shoddy design and or materials, brittle plastic
@@ToySpotlite Yeah there is. It's like a commander class but it's a voyager with a trailer. That's why I think that comparison would be better cause both figures are probly about the same size
The Masterpiece did not even come with a matrix, it was such a terrible gimmick for him to have. You had to use Optimus' matrix, and unfortunately the body shape suffered just to have that gimmick. Total fail for that part. Otherwise I like the Masterpiece.
Some of the colour choices on the SS version are a bit iffy to me and the car mode looks a bit stocky with the wing too far in the back. But then I was never totally satuisfied with the MP. I remember the MP when it first came out fas pretty cheap as far as MPs go. so never know might not be a ko.
You know it's a KO version because of the price. Right now, a KO Hot Rod is $35 on eBay. You're not going to pay that price for a Takara Tomy original. My cheapest Masterpiece figure was the original MP-01 Optimus Prime and he was like $80, if I remembered correctly. Next was Starscream and he cost me $120.
@@trailersic That's false as he retailed for $74.99. Tracks was $55.99 but Hot Rod was $74.99 and they came out a year apart as Tracks was in 2015 and Hot Rod in 2016. While I'm not a huge collector like these TH-camrs, I do have 25 Masterpiece figures with Skyfire on pre-order. If you count my 3rd party Masterpieces, then it's up to roughly 40 and I have Fans Toys Jazz and Cliffjumper on pre-order. Overall, I probably have around 200 and counting as I'm still buying but I only buy the ones that look like G1 figures as I just bought Magic Square's Devastator.
SS86 can light our darkest hour. enough said.

I've started a small Hotrod collection so I'm rapt to get both! Waiting on the supersized Studio Rodimus Prime.

mp hotrod is better, because it has chrome.
Which one would smoke the best ham? I'm a big ham fan and try to combine ham with toys.
Also, grand video my good man. Can I send you some ham?
If you like to combine toys with ham, your sandwiches must be interesting. Though I don't think that's kosher. Glad you enjoyed my hammy video.
@@ToySpotlite instead of bread, I use insurance claims 😶
You should do the master piece versus the Kingdom
There is no Kingdom Hot Rod. The new one is Studio 86.

They are both 30 bucks LOL!
Are you going to sell them ?
He doesn't have the heart to part with them yet.

@@saysoun752 back when hot rod came out he was about $40 same as Tracks. These were definitely originals, at a tf convention from a reputable dealer.

@@saysoun752 I'm probably thinking of prices from 2017 as many people were stuck with stock of these
Ss86.
That Masterpiece sucks. The Studio series and all the war for cybertron guys are just more fun. Especially now that they want big $ for Masterpiece.
