I did this conversation a while ago but just left the lower hull as heng long and just had to cut a little bit off the front plate in between the front mud guards and it screwed straight on That was while I got all the mato lower hull parts together then moved the top over to it and kept the heng long radio gear in it

One thing that I noticed that you didn't do, is check to see if the new front sprockets tooth correctly with the track you will be using.
They do fit I just didn’t do it on camera
They only made 18 of these.
