  • Victorinox ranger grip unboxing - Swiss knives from Victorinox are useful and high quality tools. In this particular knife I like the large blade with a thumb hole so it can be opened with just one hand. Also the wood saw is big enough to be practical. For me this is almost perfect knife/multi-tool for outdoors.
    I also show you how to make a fire with the wood saw. The handle of fire steel in this video is handmade at our Reliikki workshop from waste plastic. The waste plastic is collected from nature.
    Tools:
    1. Tweezers
    2. Toothpick
    3. Lockable one hand blade 9,9 cm
    4. Wood saw
    5. Can opener/Screwdriver 3 mm
    6. Bottle opener/Screwdriver 5 mm/Wire stripper
    7. Corkscrew
    8. Reamer, punch and sewing awl
    Lenght 130 mm, Weight 167 g

    I have it. And it’s one of my favourite outdoor knife
    You can do so much things with it. And you have a lifetime warranty. Just to show how confident they are with the quality of the knife

    The silent video demonstration. No talking. Just the sound of the walk & talk. The subtitles of each tool.
    You earned a subscriber. I dislike locuacious youtube knife reviews. This was a masterpiece video.

    Good choice ! Would be mine too, but my original Wenger Ranger still works after 25+ years...

    I have a very similar version (as for the tools) called “Forester”. I have had it for 23 years - still as good a knife as on the day I bought it. Victorinox pocket knives are the best!

    What a simple video! It's all the knife needed. Relaxing, right to basics... Great job!

    I like videos like this. They help me calm down and think for myself. I actually have a 'Hunter' and i ordered a couple of things that will make it look like a Ranger (It will add the tweezers and toothpick and also a flint and a fire starting wool. I find that the button to close the blade is the only thing that will be missing.

      Thanks for the comment. I thought about buying an hunter, but I ended up choosing a forester wood. Hunter is is an excellent knife for the outdoorsman!

      @@reliikki I wanted the Italian Police Rescue Tool, but that is hard to find. Ended up giving up on the window breaker and bought the Hunter because of the saw. The goal is to have a tool that can help me clean some branches on some less pedaled paths but could also help me rescue someone if i happen to witness a car crash.

      @@reliikki I also knew i would be able to buy new scales for the Hunter and add the glow in the dark scales + toothpick + tweezers + flint...

    • @reliikki
      @reliikki  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glow in the dark scales are a great addition! I personally like the long blade and saw of Ranger grip. The saw can quickly cut even slightly thicker branches and small trees.

      @@reliikki Just a quick update: I found out my knife is not a Hunter, but a Forester. The guy who sold it to me gave me the wrong box (the knife was on a display and the guy just grabbed the first box that fitted). I've learn online that it is not the Hunter but the Forester M Grip

    i love that knife. i wonder if the cork screw should be replaced with a more useful camp tool? like a file or a smaller blade or scissors or a prying tool. you get what im saying. nevermind....they make different models of this knife

    • @reliikki
      @reliikki  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, they make different models of this knife. I personally consider the corkscrew a really necessary tool, e.g. for untying knots and storing small victorinox tools. I could make a video about it.

    For the past few days I've been wondering if putting an indentation close to the back of all the tools on an SAK will make them one-handed. I mean that's how all the tools in the Leatherman Free Series are designed. Can anyone confirm if it will work?

    • @reliikki
      @reliikki  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never used Leatherman Free so I can't say. At least this Victorinox blade works really well with one hand, so I would believe that it could be used in other tools as well.

    Скажите пожайлуста, у вас конец лезвия тоже складывается не по центру ? И есть ли щели между лайнерами на просвет. Качество моего викторинокса рейнджергрип 78 не оправдало моих ожиданий.

    can you move the fingers at -32° in this way? I don't think so

    • @reliikki
      @reliikki  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can. Winter is the longest season in Finland and we tend to get used to cold air during the winter. Cold air is dry because it holds less moisture than warm air. When temperature are below -30 °C air is really dry. -15 °C may feel colder because the air may also be more humid.
      One of the biggest mistake what you can make in extreme temperatures is touch to metal objects that have been outside. Touching metal is like putting your fingers in flames.

    Unfortunately, because of the locking blade, this knife is an illegal carry in the UK
