Son, you've got to play a few chords in your demonstration and show off how the bass and treble cuts affect the tone. It's a masterpiece of Leo's design, too bad that there isn't a version with a vibrato system.
It also sounds like they recorded it direct to a board or through a poor amp model. It all sounds kind of thin and weak. But I noticed in other demonstrations of this guitar that it sounds much richer than what you’re hearing here.
LOVE that string "tree". I can't stand traditional ones, and avoid them altogether, so I'm very interested in trying this and the other models that have it.
I have the Espada and it’s definitely its own guitar. I’d classify it as a noiseless tele with options. It’s not for everyone, but I love mine and won’t be parting with it anytime soon.
I sometimes play my Espada through an Earthquaker Park fuzz. Sounds great in series mode on the neck pickup. The tone knobs don’t do much though to further shape the fuzz tone, and I have the fuzz set to about 1 o’clock. But it sounds great and I’m not that picky, so it works for me.
yes, the tones in this demo are pretty dismal. I've seen some better demos. Anderton's is ok, but GMR and Jonathon koh have the best demos for this guitar.
I really love G&L guitars, own a wonderful ASAT, and I really wanted to like this one. But geez, what went wrong? Are you playing over a transistor radio or something? So many sounds, and they're all anemic and unpleasant.
The CLF Research Espada is truly a unique and versatile ax 🎸 Looking for more G&L guitars? Like, comment, and subscribe!
It's like an advanced Tele. Anything by G&L or Musicman rules.
Hello from our new TH-cam channel!
Leo Fender knocked it outta the park from beyond the grave with this masterpiece of a guitar!
The ultimate studio guitar!!! I really really really want one someday. Super badass
Beautiful ... sold.
If the Asat is like a hi-if tele, this is like a super hi-fi tele! Amazing tonal options. Leo was truly a genius. 👍

It would take off some sustain and clarity of the attack. Just compare Asat Z3 to Comanche (bridge is the main difference)

A tremolo? For what? Naahh...
Glad to see Hackerman is picking up guitar.

I'm dying to see one run with lots of fuzz and gain. I reckon this would wail. Kinda snappy like a junior mixed with a tele.
I wonder what it would sound like through a Marshall JVM.

Wow. NIce. Too bad I'm out of work.
Me 2
Haha me too
It's an intriguing guitar, but this demo has cured my gas for it.
Yea they could’ve done better lol

@@bkmeahan thanks for the tip, this demo really is not good, terrible tones and not much variety in the playing to showcase its potential
Is this is how "sales engineers" demo guitars?
Those are Sweet sounding 😎
Love G&L
That’s my boyyyyy right there!
Will it metal? How about some overdrive and distortion tones??? Can youp lay thru a dual rec or other type of amp???
Nice demo. Goob playing.
Super design.
is there a version with a whammy bar?
Yes, indeed! Check out all G&L models here:

Thanks for the interest, Mike!
@@sweetwater beautiful guitar, lovely tones.
The Espada doesn't come in an edition with a vibrato system then?

wish they’d make a 12 string version
Too freaking bright!
This does not sound good in this demonstration.
A little too complicated guitar!!
I love the headstock.. the rest of the guitar looks like superfluous bullshite. NO batteries for me.
...then don't use the buffer or boost lol, it works perfectly fine in passive if you have no interest in a buffered output.
Personally think it's ugly, but it sounds great!
I agree, I want to like it more but the aesthetics look dumpy.
I think the headstock is UGLY, UGLY!!! The body is ok.
I don't like the blocks in the scale as well.
