It was a surely precious talk to me. Now, I have a different view of a student who fell down from the first floor and hit his head. I have not received any report on what exactly happened to him, as a medical report so that my classes could be better directed to him. But, after watching your video, it helped me see it much clearer and I will surely try to help him in different ways. I mean... after pandemic is over. Thank you so much Dr. Katy O´Brien.

10:12, no, I didn't think it was hard because I know from past experience it was hard. I knew it was hard because I was reading the list back to myself as you were saying the items, and by the time you got to item 4 I was struggling with 2 and 3. Same with the distractions test - I knew what I would remember because I said them in my head and counted. My before number was the same as my after. My beliefs had absolutely nothing to do with it.

that's good, you don't need metacognitive therapy

I've had suspicious that my head injuries have had effect on me, and I think this is adding to that suspicion. Lol

So is retrieval of memory is a form of metacognition? Also you never explained what the other scores meant for example people who thought they'd do well but don't do as well.

Meta cognition is thinking about thought processes and logic, I personally do this a lot and from my experience it’s being aware of your thoughts and choosing what to think and not mindlessly following others beliefs and coming up with your own solution.

These days almost everyone has brain injury, because of mobile phones( social media, unnecessary calls, TH-cam, tik tok like apps)
Either they forgot things or procrastinate because of these distractions.

Sorry, but you really don't know what it means to live with a TBI.
Remember? Close to the end she said: 'Don't minimise it'.

I had predicted 60%, and remembered all except ear plugs and clock, 6/8, so 75% (one off). Pretty good! 😋
