    I'll be 57 in June 2020, My wheelies days are over on my 900 Ninja back in the day my girlfriend now my wife for 37 years used to be on the back we spent more time on the back tire standing her up, But to think back now we were truly blessed that nothing seriously happened to us because you never know in a blink of an eye either one of us might not be here today, but I would be lying if I didn't tell you we absolutely had a blast!!! Popping that bike up for blocks at a time. To each and everyone of you be safe practice practice practice!!!! If you decide you want to wheely them bed boys up, good luck and have fun

    I have crashed so many times over the years mastering the wheeling on my mountain bike. I can’t imagine having the balls to try this once, let alone practicing on a V-twin enough to master them. Then again that’s probably why I will never be this cool.

    as a kid I wheelied bicycles for what seemed to be forever. Later I had a 76 honda CR125 that I could wheelie. Now Im 55 with a Roadking. I think there's a time where you have to say "I'm ok with not doing wheelies on the roadking" you know what Im sayin? Like I don't think Id be loosin any sleep over not wheelin the bagger rite? I also have an 84 XR200R... its tempting but we don't heal as fast at 55 :D

    I'm 56 yrs old, and can ride my older 86 shadow 1100 good, but that looks tough! I've done a little drift spinning and a little drift skidding and it surprised me how crazy it can get without wiping out. or h ow good it really handles in a pinch. But if I ever get the balls to TRY to pull wheelies like the author, it will be with heavy leather and helmet.....and maybe a lighter bike. Like a dirt bike

    V twins tend to have way more torque than inline fours so I don't understand what he's talking about with pulling up on the handlebars. I've never even tried to pull up on the handlebars even when riding an inline four with good torque. Like he says, they're heavy and the engine does all the heavy lifting. Pulling up is pointless.
    Before popping the front end up that high, it's way easier to learn how to pop the front end up just a few feet while you're moving 20 to 30 mph. It's not as dangerous, and you gain a lot more confidence setting the front end back down on the pavement.
    It's incredibly easy to get that front end up beyond 12 o-clock even with your foot on the brake, it's oops-too-late. Most Japanese bikes have an adjustable preload on the front forks so you can tighten them up which significantly reduces the possibility of speed wobbles when you set the front end back down. Even a slight speed wobble on a HD is a disaster.

    No oil starvation on the first cilinder of a Harley?

    • @pwntwtf
      @pwntwtf 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      i wouldn't think so. it would depend on your oil pressure. it's a dry-sump and i don't imagine you could wheelie long enough to do any actual damage anyway.

    • @patrickder.7456
      @patrickder.7456 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brigman alright, so I cant compare the Harley vtwin with my suzuki sv 650 engine...because my engine doesnt have a drysump, so when I pull a weely the oil doesnt reach the front cilinder. Very cool do to wheely a Harley.....

    • @HoodStatus

      When you get 2 plus miles on one wheel you will starve the front, holding them a quarter mile or so you don't have any adverse effects.

      From what I understand, a lot of the guys put in a short extension in the oil pan, a little hollow tube that helps prevent this issue. My not being a mechanic is my excuse for the lack of technical terms, I just remember seeing a picture of this fix from some of the guys that do stunt riding on their Dynas.
