Those are genuinely good life lessons my friend! Appreciate it. It’s good to realize that games like this can be hard and that tot feeling not up to it is totally fine for that moment. You can come back at any time, whenever you want
Exactly! I don't get the rush and I don't get the feeling of obligation towards a hobby of any kind, it's not a job, you can change and change back whenever you want
You know, a number of the points you mention are applicable to gaming in general. I had to tell a friend that I could no longer play with him because playing with him was more work and stress than my IRL job. It took a few discussions before he understood what I wanted from a game. Satisfactory is a game I can play all day on my day off and not feel drained. I appreciate your advice, thank you.
After hearing your pipe rant, I was expecting this to be super salty 😂. I think you're right on all counts, though. Great video. I've never heard "ego is the thief of knowledge," so I'm going to use that in the future

Out of the 150 hours I have in my current playthrough, I've walked away from my computer leaving the game running for maybe 50 hours. It's great to come back and have hundreds of stacks of concrete when I get back, lol.
@@boomhauer09 Honestly I hate AFKing because to me it feels kinda like cheating. Part of it is I always like hard drives running in the MaM. I do get your stand point of it to tho
I burnout in 2020 because i wanted to do everything perfect and now. I came back with 1.0 and i said to myself: "no rush nor finished factories". And i actually doubled the amount of time of my previous save with little to no afk, because i simply enjoy it. I managed to do a 100+ MW turbofuel plant without plans. You can do wild things with patience and joy (My previous one was 200+ hours and as yesterday i have 500+ and no intentions to stop anytime soon)
I agree a lot with how cheating kills the joy of playing, especially when it comes to achieving parts of the game, its like watching a show while skipping few episodes, you don't get to enjoy the moments and details, and understand the story, or imagine just spawning diamonds in your survival Minecraft world, you eliminated the excitement of finding it in a cave. But I get it that sometimes people hate a certain part in a game so they tend to remove it with a mod or overcome it with cheating so they can enjoy the game without it, and that's totally fine since they are playing in their own world and not ruining the game for everyone else just like cheaters on multiplayer games, but the problem starts with greed, when you cheat once there is no coming back, every challenge faces you in the game you will just think "Oh I can just do it with a little more cheating" until your ruin the whole game for yourself and quit and never comeback.
I usually have a problem with balancing the power budget or liquid headlift. Before, I usually quit around tiers 4 and 5. But I finally made it to tiers 5 and 6. I've always had issues with building box factories and how it makes me stressed a lot, but playing this game made me realize that nothing is perfect and you can't always achieve maximum efficiency or power, sometimes it's just best to make things more than they're supposed to in your factory even if it's not the most efficient
I usually give up on my save somewhere in tier 4. Getting resources around the map is such a chore. Then I see all these massive factories on YT and realize I stink at designing or coming up with large scale operations.
It's daunting to see people build so big, but keep in mind, I spend 20-30 hours per episode playing the game. If you stripped all that away, what do you like about the game, what is your favourite part of it?

If you haven’t set up a power slug carousel, you’re taking things to seriously. Similarly, if you haven’t tried looping a hypertube to exit into its entrance, you’re missing out on life. 🤣

Ohh wow I expected some tricks and tips to make the factory more efficient or lean, meanwhile the first tip already hit home really hard. That really is my issue that I have spent around 100-200 hours total into two saves, (patch 7 and version 1) and I have never even made a pump on oil, ever. I had the technology, but never get to it, due to making a 100% efficient steel and iron factory for every material unlocked until Tier 4. Or a 100% efficient Christmas factory... Then get tired of efficiency and change to a different game...
Happy to hear it hit home :P Then I would suggest instead of 100% efficient, just make it so you make 1 machines worth of everything, or try out building a smart factory, or Nilaus bus factory, something to break the pattern :P
@@jackblade281 Yeah, I agree with you. I do have satisfaction out of my efforts when I see my 100% efficient, lean, hidden conveyor factories, but even just for steel, it makes too much work and planning. When I have only a few hours a week to play and just to make the basic steel beams and frames it takes days and days where I do nothing else just running the conveyors in a hidden floor without seeing or doing anything else apart from looking at a narrow concrete slab prison with a torch, it starts to be a chore and will play something else instead. I will make sure the next time I only do small things. A single or two machines at max seems a good idea
With single player games, cheats/exploits generally bring you to the question of what are you trying to achieve A good example would be something you suggested in another video, which was a series where you cheat a bunch of sloops and shards in, and every building you place down is max overclocked and slooped. You've skipped the problem of finding and researching those things, but you've created an entirely different problem that requires solving, in this case insane power requirements A bad example might then be cheating in computers every time i run out and need some, instead of doing the work to automate it at whatever efficiency, because I'm not really adding anything, just getting to play less of the game. Would be like if I played Hades with invincibility. I could, and for a few very sparse exceptions, it's a valid use case, but for the most part, why?
