Thank you, Rachel, Len, Dave, Rob and Mihály! You made me proud again and left me amazed! I love how Len gets dressed up complete with the sheriff's badge and 10-gallon hat! He acts the part! God bless all of you. 🙏
Have seen a video with this drummer playing along the original track once! And there it is... playing the song with other great guys!! Hats off, fellas!!! Loved the singer's character, eheheheh
This was again a challenging project which we would not have been able to accomplish at that quality without Rachel’s participation. I am amazed how easy she can play the most difficult parts of the music and how quickly she reacts with full motivation to any possible request of mine when working on the project. I need also to emphasize my greatest thanks to Jeanie, who - among others - records exciting video footages! In case of this project she recorded five different camera angles of the whole song. From these excellent shots it was an easy job to cut what you can see in the video. And Rachel - of course - played five times her parts, and in all instances her play was perfect. This is a miracle… J
Thanks so much Rachel for getting on board for this project, and including us in your very busy schedule.... I grew up with E.L.P. and have always been a big fan.... Your performances are just breathtaking and spot on! Congratulations on your success! Until our next collab....... Cheers!
FANTABULOUS, so good to see Rachel playing with some really talented guys ... and she is simply the icing on the cake, awesome piano solo!!! Bravo Rachel!
I can't tell you how obsessed with this song I've been for years, mainly for Keith Emerson's amazing organ and then the honky tonk piano. And, you guys + gal were great, but serious kudos to Rachel Flowers for just nailing the piano at the end. Good grief!! PS: I was also expecting the drummer to give a "shit" there in the beginning... lol
Great job... The mix was awesome.... The drum mix was spot on!! I Played in a band back in "83". Our piano player had an 1903 Kimball upright piano that had brass upholstery tacks on the hammers and had the exact ragtime sound... When mic'd up you could hear the tacs hitting the strings!!!
Obrigado a todos que realizaram este fantástico vídeo. Muito bom. Fica incrível ouvir a música e ver o músico executando todas as partes. Ainda mais em se tratando de ELP !!
Truly amazing. This takes so much know-how and determination. I fully appreciate this and hope to help in the future. Being a lifelong pianist and fan of ELP Along with a publisher/producer I would love to help out on any future productions. I do a lovely Trilogy. My Steinway B is miked and ready. Rachel could total do the Synth solos! I love Rachel and have followed her for as long as she has been on You Tube! As a practicing surgeon, music is my refuge. I play and compose every day! Keep in touch! ...and don't mess with the Sheriff!
I just love you Rachel! Your talents on keyboards is beyond description. I've seen alot of your videos and you play Keith as if you were in his head and hands. I've seen lots of ELP cover bands but you are THE best playing Keith's music. You've even captured his phrasing and dynamics besides playing perfectly. You're a joy to watch and hear. I'm heartbroken for Keith whenever I hear his music. I've worked in mental health units and have family and friends who suffer various forms of mental illness. The pain and quality of life is unimaginable. I just pray that God forgives those who take their own lives and gives their souls special comfort and heavenly peace for eternity that they never had on earth. God bless you Rachel...and the rest of the band aren't too bad either! 😁👍☮️🙏✝️
Great ELP cover and collab! Wonderful to see Rachel jamming her keyboard with this talented group of guys! Awesome piano solo, too! Your incredibly talented daughter is going to have a great career Jeanie :-)) ~Take care, ~Jackie
These musicians are amazing and Rachel is such an inspiration. I am so grateful Rachel is able to share her exceptional talent and heart-warming smile with the rest of us! Applause and bravo Rachel !!!
I'm fondly reminded of an 8mm video a Matt Schaffer made in high school to the Beatle's "Rocky Raccoon". He played it for us in my 10th grade Commercial Art class at Thousand Oaks High School (Go Lancers!) Matt was a grade or two ahead of me. This was maybe 1969 or 1970. I always thought Matt was going to "go places" after viewing that fine production. I later saw him in 1981 selling shoes at the Oaks Mall, long hair all gone. Poor guy....
Amazing five-way, five-geographic-location, two-continent collaboration! All of you were fantastic and RF nailed that saloon-house piano solo! Loved Len's outfit and props too!
You did ELP proud. I doubt Rachael reads this comment section on YT, but I hope some or all of the collaborator’s will read this not. Wanted to shout out and say what a great cover of the legendary song by ELP. 4 ,minutes of pure bliss collectively dressing up a raggy underbelly of a clear, concise and fun story by the master three letter acronym band equaled by no one in originality, creativity, and absolutely top shelf musicianship. Thank you for bringing this back to life - one of my all-time favorite shorts. You all sounded fantastic. I had not seen this video and did not know you all had collaborated on the cover until AFTER ONE friend and I tracked new instrumentals for it, and I have now finished rehearsing Greg's vocals for it. It is at that point now. Instrumentals are done, and i have done two takes straight through for GREG'S VOCALS. it is very close to being finished. My friend is a pro session player from Italy, and I am a now retired rocket scientist that was originally a classically trained percussionist [through HS, later on moving into academia for graduate science (physics and electronics engineering). At that time in the 70's I was playing prog rock covers with some original compositions and eventual productions. Never sang in my life professionally and never pursued any vocal training. And, I am the one who has to lay and track the vocals to complete our lil project. After hearing your cover, I can only now hope to make ours ‘unique’ from both the original and you absolutely stunning faithful cover of their work. I applaud your team collaboration, and commitment to reproducing ELP’s studio version. I played it 5 times in a row, agasp and stunned at the quality and accuracy you all placed in your rendition. TIPS HAT. If any of you have any interest in hearing our 2 man ‘unique’ version, please just post a quick note below these comments and I will ensure you get a copy! Cheers!
I thank GOD for all of your talent! Imagine worshipping HIM is music FOREVER! I wonder how Jesus Christ would sound, WHOA, that really blows my mind! Don
This is great. I am hoping to bring my 15 year old daughter to the progfest in nj this year. This music needs to be kept alive for future generations. Thank you!
although quite a hard core fan of Rachel by now, this video had slipped my attention until today and what else can I say to keep praising her talent. The collaboration bit is new to me (other than her ZPZ sit-ins) and it works so perfectly. Goes to show what can be done nowadays with the use of computers and some imagination and the will to have some fun while top of the line musicians do what they do best. I love this tune so much, a total joy to see ..... congratulations !!! (hi Jeanie, long time no talk .... lol ..)
+Jeanie Flowers ... hi beautiful lady :) I love this "virtual band" stuff, yet another way to rediscover some of my all time fav music thanx to your amazing girl. I sent a comment to Len in the "Enigma" page (in your channel, not Dave's) he is quite the super-cool dude, so nice and friendly and an excellent showman/frontman giving another dimension to these amazing ELP covers ... keep up the great work !!!! :):)
Absolutely brilliant! I was thinking about this song and was looking for a live version when I found your video. Fantastic collaboration; thank you so much for sharing!
All of you did such an exquisite job in this beautiful-and absolutely perfect-rendition! Rachel, you are a bona fide genius and you never fail to impress or entertain us with your talent and skill! Thanks so much for posting this!
Every single time I have heard you play is a delight, Rachel. How cool it is that one of the ELP songs that I always enjoyed was the focus of your collaboration! Thank You, Rachel!! Please keep playing keyboard, Stick or whatever. It is always a pleasure to hear!
Really outstanding cover, special kudos to Len Audsley, he did a very good job and it's not easy "filling in" for Greg Lake's vocals, but great great job to all. Have been ELP fan for more than 40 years, just 5, 6 years too young to see them live in the 70's, but I listened their albums from age 10 on. I am very criticial about people doing ELP covers, but you guys are just outstanding. Thank you very much. This was a gift.
I have been following Rachel's covers for some time and concentrated mostly on her hands with only occasional glances at her face...I was watching her Karn Evil 9 2nd impression and I noticed her eyes seemed unusual...I put it to the back of my mind and going to this piece for the first time, I decided to go to her web page... I shed a few tears learning that she was blind also...Thanks for your gift! I hope a life of happiness for you and yours...Much LOVE! : ).... ~A tear of joy~
See the ELP music still running is a satisfaction without words enough to describe. My congratulations from Brazil to the enormous musicians of this band. Thanks a lot!
I watch endless YT music videos. Few if any, move me in quite the way these incredible musicians pay tribute to the great ELP. Every participant in this collaboration performs with an unbelievable level of virtuosity - always in service of the musical expression.
It's always a great pleasure and honor to work with you, Rachel! Your work is superb. And special thanks also to you Jeanie, for all of the hard work you put into making Rachel's videos!
Learned this(sort of) way back by using the new and futuristic 16 rpm on our turntable! Exactly one octave lower,so in the same key and slow enough to pick out the intricate Emersonisms! Thanks so much for this, you are all amazing, and it really brings home the genius that Keith was.
Just perfect guys...God bless you. You are really talented in a such difficult song to play. The simpler the songs are, the harder are to play. My vote? 10/10 And Rachel?....She didn't make me miss the Legend: Keith Emerson. Bravi :-) Yours Carus Alambra :-)
Well done! I've always loved this song, especially that last piano part. I remember that the sheet music gives the timing for that as "As Fast As Possible".
Tell Rachael we love her smile!!
Thank you, Rachel, Len, Dave, Rob and Mihály! You made me proud again and left me amazed! I love how Len gets dressed up complete with the sheriff's badge and 10-gallon hat! He acts the part! God bless all of you. 🙏
Thank You William! That getup has caused a lot of chatter... both good and bad... LOL
Have seen a video with this drummer playing along the original track once! And there it is... playing the song with other great guys!!
Hats off, fellas!!! Loved the singer's character, eheheheh
That ending brought tears to my eyes. 😃
