Not a bad build. I would say increase the amiunt of berrings on the y axis though. The Y axis is also a weak point in these router style gantry assemblies. I also have built my own CNC, surface area of berrings on the rails distributs loads better and hold accuracy better. I didnt use berring blocks like this, but youre on the right track. I should of used linier rails, but i stuck with the thickest 1in square tubing i could buy.
What is the length and width of the 20/20 excursions used on the Z axis back plate? Also, what was the larger size NEMA Moter used on the Z axis back plate?
The ones running up and down are 18" and the ones between them are about 4" (cut to fit). The motor I used for the Z axis is amzn.to/3yJUThN . If I did it again, I would use this motor for all axis as it is a little stronger and about the same price as the ones I used.
The gantry needs to be significantly stronger, right now the amount of deflection while cutting would be excessive. The gantry rails are acting as a structural support which is not good
Thanks for the feedback. So far it is working very well for the type of work I am doing. If I find it not precise enough for finer work, I will look into a version 3...
Omg, just found this channel today. This is great!
Glad you enjoy it!
Exciting upgrade! I'm all in! Great job. FYI, bad link on second aluminum bracket. 😞
Thanks? Which bracket has a bad link and I'll fix it?
My bad. Links look good. Thanks for your diligence and accuracy in publishing the parts lists. Very thorough! 😊
@ScienceFunInnovations Lovely knowledge video , can you please let us know how it will automatically change the drill bits
Unfortunately, this one will not change the bits automatically. You have to spend much more money for that ability.

Yes, version 3 (way down the road) will have more rigid gantry setup. But as I am cutting mostly 2D in wood and plastic, working great for now.
I purchased the templates and eBay products. When you designed the gantry. Which Spindale clamp did you use in your design?
This one: amzn.to/4djv733
Best luck in your build!

@@ScienceFunInnovations Thank You I am prepping the build now.
