I know you are so tired of putting furniture together, but it's definitely coming together nicely! On that first piece you showed us. I think you called it your buffet table? I have a pair of free-standing pantries just like the ones in your "before." I have them on the enclosed side porch, which was meant to be used as a mud room, along with two shorter but basically matching pantries. They certainly serve their purpose, and look nice against the painted bead-board out there, but I understand why you don't want them in the dining room. They look very "cottage," but while they are attractive in the porch, they do not have the stature you want in the dining room.
I like your TV above that white bureau. So how about hanging in on the wall? That will free u p the top surface of the bureau for display, and will also give you the opportunity to build a "hutch" to sit above the bureau. In addition to framing the TV nicely, the hutch top would provide another shelf for things you don't want the kids to get into.
