    It finally happened, after 9 months of string testing an A+ grade was awarded to ring in the New Year 🎉 (Happy New Year Tennis Fam). Does this mean it is the best string on the market for most people, ABSOLUTELY NOT! Every A+, A or A- string can all excellent and what YOU prefer is all a matter of personal preference and game style.

    I love this string, I'm now testing it in a hybrid setup, Lynx tour on the main and Lynx on crosses. But seeing you hitting the ball, there's no way you break them after 8 hours of play.

    Great review TK and I’m happy someone has really tested this string thoroughly as I’d been using it without documentation but always commenting on how long it’s lasted and how good the tension maintenance is. I use the black colour in 1.25 and a mate in the States has just mentioned to me that on a micrometer it’s actually 1.285 as we were both saying it feels thicker than other 1.25s when stringing. I play undercover and outdoors and it’s also sensational outdoors, quite a few strings I’ve tried play and sound extremely different outdoors. I’ve played it at 44lbs in a 2023 Prestige Tour(beautifully buttery still with this string) 52,51 and 50lbs in Extreme Tour and new Pro, and my main racquet now Speed Pro Legend 54lbs, 52lbs and now just strung at 48lbs as I’ve been really liking the lower tension lately. In comparison to Restring Zero I just used for around 10hrs, without documentation though I can comfortably say Lynx Tour lasted longer and held tension longer..Which surprised me though I am doing Lynx Tour now at the same tension 48lbs and will be playing the same level hitting sessions I’d just played with Zero, so I’ll see…And regarding tension maintenance with it being in the racquet over time, I had it in one racquet for close to 3 months untouched and also my mate here broke his after around 3months also and both still felt great. I also just tried O-Toro(Trying to compare a bunch of similar shaped strings to Lynx Tour), I didn’t get to longevity because I don’t quite dig the feel, a bit snappy for my liking, ‘feels’ really powerful though I know the difference is minimal but I chopped it. My mate loved it however so there’s something for everyone.

    I have been using this string for while. It’s a flat hitting spin string with power. I think that’s because of the higher swing weight , so you may need to bump tensions.
    Doesn’t do well on touch and when you swing out you can rip the ball but may be little wild at times.
    I had a hard time controlling it at times and because of the power I had to string it higher. This caused it to be uncomfortable and hard to have touch shots. The swing weight again hides that stiffness and you will feel it the next day.
    Great string, ok spin. If you need some control but want that power and a some spin it’s fantastic. If you want a dead string that’s soft and controllable head has touch or power that’s little less powerful but controllable.
    I sometimes used lynx tour 1.30 just to add a ton of sw because I didn’t feel like adding leaf

    Great review, and very timely for me! I’ve never played Lynx Tour before, but am about to try it in the 2025 Gravity Tour 98. I’m hoping this stiff string will pair nicely with such a soft racket, and also help to somewhat calm its very open stringbed (similar in its wide string spacing, I think, to the Gravity MP 100 you are using). Glad to hear of it’s high durability and accuracy when used in a Gravity.

    This is the string I use and I love it. I bought a reel of it. I’m about 6 racquets in and I’m never disappointed. Like all strings, they are best when you first play on them. I don’t know if the 6-sided shape contributes anything, but the string has a great pop on contact. It’s pretty durable too. I’ve gone months without breaking a string.

    Thanks for the great review as usual, this string has been my go-to in 2024, felt great and had so much crispness and spin. But because it can be a bit unpredictable, shifting and misleading (even though that's not related to the launch angle), I started my own stringjourney to see if there's anything that better suits me in the market. Anyway, Beccket (from TennConn), when reviewing LT, perfectly described this some sort of second-nature that this string presents after a while, it's quite unique and crazy, I don't think you had the opportunity to experience that since you didn't let it really rest for several days in your stringbed. Anyway, it's a one of a kind dropout in tension and elasticity change that I haven't seen any other string feel that way, but that great YT channel's analysis and take on it is definitely worth watching for us tennis strings nerds. All the best from a Brazilian fan and looking forward for more of your great videos.

    The fist time I tried This string was end of March 2020, and it was known as EXPERIMENTAL, loved it and switched to it immediately and I have a few reels of it , in 1.30.
    Tour bite is definitely a stiffer string, I have reels of 15 L gauge-1.35 and every time I hit with that string. It shreds the ball. The ball will only last about an hour.
    With lynx tour the Orange is the softest
    There is also a black version, and I would say it is not as stiff as the silver and champagne , these two feel very similar, but I do have a preference with the color, and that is the champagne, i’ve also done a hybrid with the champagne in mains and orange in the cross and it feels nice

      Out of curiosity I have six or seven frames of the 2019 gravity pro. I have not tried the new ones, but just curious. Why did it give you tennis elbow?

    • @TK-Tennis
      @TK-Tennis  7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Dang, you are most certainly are a racquet-holic. In 2021 I demo'd more than 45+ racquets throughout the summer on a racquet journey. When I played with the Gravity Pro it was hands down to winner and after just a few hits I knew. Nothing felt as solid and clean and the journey was over, or so I thought. The issue was in practice rallies it was wonderful, but during any meaningful point play (or in 2 hour practice sessions) the heft of the racquet became evident as I would often start striking the ball late. Between wielding a racquet that was too heavy and hitting late, tennis elbow ensued. I enjoyed the racquet so much that I was highly reluctant to make a change and I endured dealing with tennis elbow for 9+ months until I knew something had to change. During that period I tired everything such as lower tensions, various strings, more padded replacement grips but nothing helped. I then downgraded to the MP and within 4-6 weeks my tennis elbow went away entirely. My strokes seem to be more compatible with lighter racquets.

      @@TK-Tennis racket-holic - racket enthusiast lol , I personally or unfortunately started out playing with heavy rackets so I don’t know any better and I understand what you mean , something similar happened to a stringing client when he switched to a heavier frame, and had to go back to his lighter frame. I have grade 3 scoliosis and whenever I’m serving with a heavy frame my back and shoulder is hurting, but on ground strokes and rallies it’s definitely perfect however when I try a lighter frame, my serve is better, but every thing else flies on me , ultimately Ive had to work out my entire body but especially my back, and of course seeing my chiropractor every week and I think that’s what helped me continue playing with frames that are 315g unstrung , my specs are around 335-340grams, swing-weight-330-340
      I recently bought a Rafa origin and these thing is a tank , but it’s super aerodynamic when you get it started it doesn’t stop,
      for me personally I have to balance my time in between working out , chiropractor stretching , and not playing when I’m injured , has helped me stay in the tennis court

    @TK-Tennis I am switching (and doubting) between Toalson hd aster and Head Lynx tour. To me, the Head Lynx tour enables me to hit really big heavy top and side spin on clay. It does give me a little less directional control, and generally a higher launch angle compared to the toalson strings. How was your experience regarding launch angle (did like their durability /tension maintenance a lot indeed. And I played about 4 months with it. 2-3 times a week including tournaments (in 2 rackets))

    • @TK-Tennis
      @TK-Tennis  7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Often I find shaped poly's (particularly 4-5 sided) do have higher launch angles. I was cognizant this could be an issue with Lynx Tour, but I did not notice any inconsistency or higher launch angle compared to what I normally use most often Kirschbaum Orange. With that said, different swing styles play a role and what I found may not be what someone else realizes.

    Apart from the looks, I was about to ask for the colour changing playability or not, but at the end you mentioned it.
    And I would still like to know if the colour makes any difference, because I care as little about colours as you do.
    My current setup is black for the racquet, electric blue in the mains and silver in the crosses. Doesn't really look good, but plays well, even when it's been sitting in the racquet for a couple of months.
    And 14$ for a set of strings is still no bargain, but acceptable. Restring and Ytex ask for similar prices, so no downside there for Head.

      I typically play black strings and have been told coloured strings are typically more crisp and responsive, blacks and greys dwell and grip more…not sure because I’ve experienced bits of everything from every colour and I’m pretty easily pleased with strings I think🤣For example also I probably wouldn’t class the black Lynx Tour as crispy, there is some there but by the sound of what TKs explaining here, the champagne sounds more crispy

    • @TK-Tennis

This string is an all around performer that checks every boxes for me. It plays just as great outdoors because of the versatility that this string has. I’ve also heard (on talk tennis) that this string was developed by isospeed. So, it might be a head string on the packaging but in reality it’s an isospeed product (if I’ve not read BS obviously).

    Thanks for the review TK, I have to admit, I am a bit surprised this is one of your top strings as I did not enjoy the HLT string in orange as it felt a bit too soft and/or wasnt crisp enough for me (for reference I am currently trying Hyper G Round 17 g and consider that a crisp string). I did feel the ball had good dwell time and produced a lower pitched sound on contact which sort of emulated the slightly low power feel. It gave decent spin and control overall and was consistent over time but for some reason I just cant get into the Head strings that I have tried so far (Hawk Power, regular Hawk and Lynx) for some reason. I have heard that the champagne color is the best and was told that an 18 g version is available over seas and produces excellent spin but I have been unable to find it.

    • @TK-Tennis
      @TK-Tennis  10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I would agree that Hyper G would be perceived as more stiff especially with the plastic style feel. Lynx Tour is medium firm+ and there are many strings that are even more firm/crisp. As for 18g, I'm not a fan and would advise against it. Yes there are benefits to spin, but there are drawbacks as well in that 18g is often less controllable/predictable depending on game/swing style. If you try champagne, let me know how it goes 👋

      I really enjoyed Toro Toro and have been wanting to use it again. Some people are claiming Lynx Tour is actually thicker than 1.25 and that may be the difference you are feeling compared to Toro Toro. It makes sense "if" true. I do remember Toro Toro provided a sensation of deeper pocketing and that could also be another reason. Typically i find a loss of overall control when going to 1.20 strings or thinner (even though spin is better) and my preference is 1.23 to 1.30 thickness. If Lynx Tour is truly thicker, then maybe the 1.20 option will be great 🤷‍♂️

      Yes, I used Restring Zero for a short period of time about a year ago but that was before I started the channel. Many people swear by Zero, but I found it to be a little unpredictable at times and I lost confidence in it. I have stated that the hyper slick strings (really slick coatings) have hyper-fast snapback and sometimes it feels as-if there is premature snapback causing a loss of control and the ball flies long. @@V4zilious1 yeh look I think a lot of guys reviewing are affiliated with brands so that could be a thing, but also everyone hits and feels differently. And are they all testing each string under identical conditions and same amount of time. My obvious thing was that I could visibly see the difference, that being fraying on Zero which I didn’t get ever with Lynx Tour and nor did my mate after 10+hrs and he’s 6’3 110kg and hits heavy spin. Chasing more power off a string is tough, as TK mentioned, it’s been measured between strings and the difference is minimal, what tension are you at? For reference. I liked Zero none the less so I’m sure you’ll enjoy it and you might even prefer it. I was definitely just expecting far longer out of it from other reviews I’ve watched.
