You’re not cheap, I would have honed those cylinders and gave it a shot too. Why throw a bunch of money at these neglected machines. You are truly a wizard with restoring these old piles, well done.
Great work, Darrell, my son. You work like on the level of a skilled surgeon but in a mechanical way, knowing all about the machine parts and how to operate and fix them. It is amazing to watch you transform each little part to make the whole thing run. Awesome! What an expert you are. Love, mom 😊

LOL My brother was a stoned helicopter mechanic. He's gone now. I can't even fix lawnmowers without thieves getting all my stuff. Been sober 25 yrs. and don't have to drink over it. Pretty amazing you got them both back up and running, wow, nice work!! The blue one looks a bit smaller then the other one. At the time mark 11mins, you cranked those plugs down extra tight!! Snug them then 1/4 turn at the most. It seemed you went 1/2 a turn...just a point. Use "Seafoam" next time you are doing an engine flush. Stuff works wonders, can mix it right with the oil. I would mix some 2 stroke oil too for the first tank of fuel in the one you rebuilt for the break in period. Great videos, enjoyed them. Great videos. I love to see people fix their own stuff. I personally wouldn't tighten nut/bolts using an impact. Even on the lowest setting, but that is just me. You did an amazing job on these machines. Thanks for posting.
You do an awesome job, my friend. Of taking complete crap & making it useable again. A bit concerning about not checking the cylinder walls. For rust, pitting, etc. Before attempting to start. On the second machine you worked on. But overall, Kudos to you!!

Very well done and I hope you get many years of fun out of them. I didn’t think you were cheap not buying pistons and rings, I call it frugal and there is a big difference. It’s frugal people that get to enjoy life by being careful with their money and spending it wisely. Cheap people don’t want to spend a dim on anything. You will probably have more fun riding your Spark as the person that goes out and buys a new one for $12k because you’re not going to be as worried about scratching or damaging it. Cheers, Stuart 🇦🇺

There is nothing more fun than hitting a big wave and getting thrown off a jet ski at top speed. you do several cartwheels across the top of the water before you sink, and when you finally do, you entire body is so drained that you can barely swim. Ask me how I know.

@@daveerrington5166 the spark is but I can’t stand working on jetskis like this GTI with the fiberglass hull They are a complete pain to work on the spark is really easy because you can lift the whole top of the hull off of it.
You may want to invest in evaporust for rusty cylinders, I've had good luck with it. And it can be used over and over until its too sludgy to use. I know harbor freight and O'Reilly's auto parts sell it
How people buy expensive equipment and toys and just leave them to rot never makes sense to me. At least hose them down with oil and seal them up to prevent water and rust damage if you can't get them fixed... Good job.
How long and at what temperature did you hear the pistons? I’m fighting a stuck ring problem on a 06 Kawasaki stx 12f. Tried a lot of things but can’t get the rings unstuck. I have engine out and pistons out.

Im sure someone else has said it but NEVER put water through a jetski before it's been started or you will fill hydrolock the engine. Always start the ski first then turn the water on. same as always turn water off first before turning the ski off
When doing an engine flush like this oil, you just drained out of your vehicle into a clean pan and SeaFoam is definitely your friend. Don’t waste money on clean oil, until the end. 45:00, this is what ethanol fuel does over time. 41:40, what kind of Dog is he??
