I was so surprised. Michael’s was a hit for me last week. First I got clearance Impression ($8.99) for $3. I got a bunch of Wool Ease Thick and quick for $3 (only certain colors. I use these for quick hats- for the homeless). Then the next day , I went to my other Michaels, and they had allllll the new yarn. I used my bonus $5 reward, plus I had some vouchers of my own. About time Michael’s tickled my fancy. It’s been awhile Michaels!!!!!🧶🧶🧶

My Michael's in Tucson, AZ on Broadway, is expanding to fabric also before resetting the yarn. So by February we will have fabric also. I did get some cotton/nylon loops and thread yarn on clearance.
The ombré hue is so soft and pretty. The coconut one sounds interesting. The site lists it as 100% acrylic but the description states it’s cotton. Will keep an eye out for your next visit.
I was in Michael’s today and I was very displeased. Like stated before they have cut out a lot of yarns. Probably trying reduce selection to only Loops and threads. I got some of the L&T soft classic for Christmas and love the feel so far. I wanted some Caron Big Cakes but they had all of maybe 5 and none in the color I wanted which was disappointing but they did have my Lion brand pound of love so I’m happy 😊
Michaels has had a lot of sales on yarns through the Christmas season; so it's picked over right now (I'm shocked any stores still have Macchiato cakes!) AND doing some seasonal clearance AND clearing out some poorer-selling colorways from the regular lines. So yeah, right now is basically bargin-bin time vs. peak selection as the transition to the new season happens. Every time there's a seasonal switch in the yarn, people think it's being cut down more, and I see comments everywhere about the empty aisles and displays. There's just a trough in the selection at the end of every major season. Then new colors will come in.
I’ve been disheartened with Michael’s yarn selection. My Michael’s has barely anything other than the loops and threads and a few Caron cakes. No more red heart, very little lion brand, or premier or anything else.
My Michaels (in fact, both of them) carry very few yarns anymore and low stock of what they have, that I have started shopping more at Hobby Lobby which is always stocked and well presented. Sad because I love Caron cakes and Lions brand.
My closest Michaels is 2 1/2 miles away, about, it's got 4 racks of yarn. In order to get a better selection, I gotta drive 7 miles for one & 10 miles for 2 more. Yikes. And the one with the largest selection is VERY unkempt, like no one cares about the yarn dept, on the floor, no labels, thrown about, etc.
@@joycejaksa3737my closest HL is 20 miles away & the other is 30 miles. I usually stop when I visit my son in Virginia, 3 miles from his home, & I get company with my granddaughters.

I think most of the Michaels are slowly changing out there yarns. Glenda of Creative Grandma just showed all the new yarn at Michael’s, WOW! No wonder ALL of the solid Loops and Threads were on clearance at my Michael’s! I scored big time yesterday.

That rolling cart is 🗑️. I had a boss thar bought it years ago and it didn't stay together no matter how much you tried to tighten the screws. Maybe they're different now.

The best yarn selection I've seen at a Michaels in PA would be in Dickson City, PA

I agree totally! Here in New Jersey near Philadelphia the selection stinks! Went from 6 aisles to 2

Those cakes…..the two I bought had sooooo many knots/joins! And colors were completely different at the join! Never again.
