  • In this northern Florida diving adventure, Jonathan teams up with cave diver Wayne Kinard and explores Ichetucknee Spring, otherwise known as "Jug Hole" in Fort White, Florida This is Jonathan's first real cave dive in Florida, and he learns how these caves are different from the caves in the Yucatan and Bahamas. It's an epic cave diving adventure!
WARNING! Cave Diving is extremely dangerous and should only be undertaken by divers with the proper equipment and training. This video is for entertainment purposes only and should not be considered “instructional” in any way. The dive team that produced this video is fully cave certified with years of experience.

I think you're the only person on the planet with a cheerful enough demeanor to make me watch a cave diving video without having an anxiety attack

    • @Landgraf43

I always know that they made it out so its ok the bad ones are the videos where you know the diver died like the video of david shaw that was really hard to watch...

Hahaha, exactly! In fact, watching these makes me feel relaxed.

Hahaha, yes!! You put that so perfectly I'm literally Ling OL!! Usually I watch cave diving vids (and pretty much any physical ceiling dive vids, for that matter) with intense, white-knuckle fascination. But he makes his fascinating...*without* me feeling like I'm biting my nails in anxiety on behalf of the divers.
I grew up in limestone country, so spelunking & cave/quarry diving accidents were regular fodder in the local news, and it was almost always inexperienced, overconfident folks who were the victims. Watching these vids remind me of what was was instilled in me growing up as an adventurous kid: that you can & should respect your exploration situation, but NOT be overly terrified of it. The point of any adventure is usually to enjoy it, after all!
(And, of course, any decent diver and/or spelunker knows that the #1 cause of accidents is panic & inexperience!)

      @@Landgraf43 Very true.
I really enjoy watching these, but gotta admit I wouldn't do it myself...at least not now. I have kids that are still pretty young, so I figure I'll do what my (very adventurous) parents did and wait until they're grown up before I try anything that seems more than a moderate level of risky.
But I do sometimes look forward to the days when I can follow in my parents footsteps! 😅

Heck! You don't even have to dive to be awed, either! I grew up in limestone cave country, and just took my kids back to see mammoth cave a couple of years ago...I'll never forget the look on my youngest kid's face as they peered down into a seemingly bottomless vertical shaft covered with sparkling calcite crystals as far as the eye could see.

I watched him growing up as a kid. You are teaching in my are phenomenal. I can see how you put a lot of your feelings into your teachings. I could be wrong but you must be a guy to can get very intense I know I can when I’m passionate about something that I love doing myself. Please keep it up as I said you’re doing great! Your video photography is awesome! I personally like to do photography and also video photography on the side and if I can help out churches or Ministries that I know that need if I talker for our videographer I will do it for free. Also I’d like to take pictures of the ocean myself including Weathers patterns such as Hurricanes thundering lightning snow storms and a few other things as well. Wow. I didn’t know Florida had such caves.
I do like how there is a spring like current near the opening of mouth of the cave.
Even how there were tiny air pockets near the ceiling of the bedding plain.
Thank you for adding that imaginary margin chart to help explain what you might of experience through the spring like jug and cave system.
Very helpful for people get an idea of a clearer experience filmed.
Thanks to you and your crew for all the good lighting you provide through the diving route.
Even a nice yellow rope to mark the direction of exploration safety precaution.
Yes, your side mounts are key to helping maneuver through those small spaces and the video footage shows just some good examples of what it’s like there.
I wondered if there was a depth and or distance you folks marked as a dive experience. What would you say it measured as? And how deep does that face really go? If you know?
Thank you for sharing as a style of expedition that suggest a pro-casual level of routine like professionalism. Great team work! ❤️

I've been making short documentaries for websites and promotions for a while now and I don't know about you but my camera-man brain and editing brain are not the same. They fight all the time. It's really frustrating when you know you missed a good shot, or focused on something that turns out to be the wrong thing, etc, etc, etc. It must be especially challenging underwater! Great work guys.

    • @BlueWorldTV
      @BlueWorldTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

But the good thing is that if you edit your own stuff, you will start to think like an editor while you are shooting, and that will help you to get all the shots you need to tell a story. Remember that at the end of edit, what is important is that you told a good story. Great individual shots are nice, but the story itself is what holds the attention of your audience.

Brilliant choice of music for this video. Perfectly fits the eerie atmosphere. I wonder if I can download/buy the "soundtrack" somewhere? Especially the piece from 7:30 to 10:30.

I really wish I could learn how to cave dive. But I am very claustrophobic, and I have a history of seizures when my anxiety gets too high. While places like this are just so amazing, I dont think I would personally risk it. But I genuinely enjoy watching you guys go down there, so thank you for sharing your adventures with us

You could go into a bigger cave :D/not enter too deep. I have a butterfly phobia, but that doesnt stop me from going to mountain or farms, where butterflies are abundant. xD

chebz Dont blame me. My dad used to tease me about butterfly when I was a kid. I also have some traumatic events with butterfly as a 4 years old.

Don't go outside your comfort zone unless you have a good plan in place, good friends to help and can bail out safely. Live to dive, dive to live.

Great documentary. I enjoy all the Blue World vids. I have been in many caverns, but no caves. Caves are beautiful and fascinating to see, but way to restrictive and to many narrow places for my taste. Hats off the the real cavers. Moe power to you. I will stick to open water and caverns.
