@@aariccallahan7371 the truth is shipping an electronic hardware product is one of the hardest things you can do in business, whether you're a giant like Nintendo or a pipsqueak like T.E. you need a lot of startup capital, it's a ton of time and work, and if your product doesn't sell you could lose an absurd amount of money or even go belly up. it's why Panic's Playdate console is $200 for what is essentially a gameboy with a grayscale Memory LCD (it's still cool imo.) they're a 25-person software company, they don't have the economies of scale to play in the consumer-priced electronic goods market with the giants. it's high stakes for them. with hardware you have to play the top of market until you get a strong enough footing to start playing in the realm of actually affordable stuff, where you need to move a lot of units. i think T.E. has been essentially playing the long game, slowly building up their "strength" by selling to the top of the market at low scale with a giant profit margin, and this is their first real gamble on selling to the regular consumer market. i think they are going to succeed because their stuff is really cool, it's just ridiculously expensive. people like me have wanted TE shit for awhile but never been able to justify it, besides the P.O. 33 - $300 is a very fair price for this imo. hopefully this is the start of them coming out with more mid-market stuff, the type of stuff that actual musicians who aren't already rich and famous can afford. i have enough money to buy an OP-1 and i still just can't justify it. it's so expensive, and for...what? at the end of the day it's a music tool, but it's an opinionated multi-tasker that puts you in its little limited world - which makes it more of a music toy or plaything, to make stuff within its little ecosystem. that's cool and all, but i'm not paying 2000 damn dollars for that, when all the tools for me to really seriously pursue my art form are significantly cheaper. it's a toy for rich kids and musicians that are already successful. if you really need to lay down keys on a production, are you going to reach for the $2000 machine with two octaves of toy keys? when you can spend $500 to get a full 88-key midi keyboard with real hammer action that feels like a piano? the EP-133 is one of the first ones that actually makes sense to me beyond "once i'm a millionaire i'll get the Lamborghini Urus, then after that, i'll get the OP-1..."
I'v been pretty vocally against TE in the past, on this channel and others.... But this is probably the coolest instrument release of this year. And next year. And maybe the year after. Everything about this is absolutely beautiful. THIS is what a company called teenage engineering should be making imo, and even the price is just amazing. They've gone from overpriced, underpowered, and overhyped... To absolute KINGS of the budget groovebox market in the space of an Andertons promo video. Roland and Korg are absolutely cacking it 🤣😵💫
Looks really good. Super interesting to have a larger form factor device that doesn't cost a bundle. I hope they will create some other groovebox / synths in this form factor.
It was for sale on the site minutes before I watched this video. I got back to the store when I finished the video, and guess what....?!! SOLD OUT ALREADY!!!
I think since this is the "ep series" they WILL introduce a synth like one with some sort of op1 style synths in it... at least a tb 303 or something even
I will definitely be grabbing one of these. Was just looking for something I could use for sampling, but also just wanted something that I could have fun with to give me some creative inspiration. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Very tempting. I need to expand projects because my Keystep Pro is full and the software to save requires a computer. 9 projects on this isn't enough but there's probably a way to save those. I don't see a card slot. Scenes and 4 tracks resemble KSP. Would be nice to have a good sampler like this. Great demo, TY!
Perfect for the OP-1 Field! You could live sample and compose on the spot. Especially since you can't quantize or anything on their most expensive product. For some reason.

Now I just have to sold the Smpltrek, the new EP133 is just what I was wating for ! A real live sampler with memory and the famous Punch'in fx ! hopefully this is the start of them coming out with more mid-market stuff, the type of stuff that actual musicians who aren't already rich and famous can afford. i have enough money to buy an OP-1 and i still just can't justify it. it's so expensive, and for...what? at the end of the day it's a music tool, but it's an opinionated multi-tasker that puts you in its little limited world - which makes it more of a music toy or plaything, to make stuff within its little ecosystem. that's cool and all, but i'm not paying 2000 damn dollars for that, when all the tools for me to really seriously pursue my art form are significantly cheaper. it's a toy for rich kids and musicians that are already successful. if you really need to lay down keys on a production, are you going to reach for the $2000 machine with two octaves of toy keys? when you can spend $500 to get a full 88-key midi keyboard with real hammer action that feels like a piano? the EP-133 is one of the first ones that actually makes sense to me beyond "once i'm a millionaire i'll get the Lamborghini Urus, then after that, i'll get the OP-1..."
I have never been excited about any Teenage Engineering instrument but that may have changed.
what about the pants?
Not my colour@@russ254
All of their releases are pretty cool
I order mine... Like if you order one! Thank you Teenage Engineering.... refreshing my email every 15 minutes till it arrives ...
OK, that's it, I dig that thing. Instant buy! 🔥 And please, please, please, make a Tonic one as well!!! 🙏
I think since this is the "ep series" they WILL introduce a synth like one with some sort of op1 style synths in it... at least a tb 303 or something even
I was in the market for a pocket sampler and this one is iT!!!!!!!!!
I love it! Don't know why I'm getting old 90s vibes from this device.
I will definitely be grabbing one of these. Was just looking for something I could use for sampling, but also just wanted something that I could have fun with to give me some creative inspiration. This is exactly what I was looking for.
64 mb !!! That's 1000x more than the 64 kb on my ensoniq mirage sampler ! I guess it's time to finally upgrade, from under my stone.
Awesome demo! Many thanks guys, so much fun! 👍
Collecting pocket operators since the beginning. Keep the price low and I will definitely buy one.
The volca sampler of my dreams has finally arrived 😊
I’ve never seen a sexier, more affordable piece of kit in my life! I just bought two!
Dude, you know TE sold $$$$$ worth today alone
Not that I can't believe they have created an amazing product, but one WITH bang-for-buck value... I could cry
that hip hop demo track SLAPPED lol
Now the Microtonic in this Size XD
it's a thing of beauty. Nes, star wars, pixel 2xl vibes ♥
damn, that beat at 5:10.. I m sold. I already love the original but always wished it had midi.
I have resisted til around 28th minute of this video… then I’ve ordered one 😂
Ill wait to see what people think of the build quality after my dissatisfaction with the OPZ
The K.O II Looks so good
Finally, we've got a device that's more like a calculator than sp404 mk2
11:37 "Basement Jaxx said that if you raise the song three BPM from where you think it should be, it will be a hit." - EP-133 manual, nice bi' uh' spice
Jack just living the dream. Love Andertons reviews and what a treat this is! Im am properly pumped for this!
I normally hate on TE's products. But they knocked it out with this one!!! Good sound, good price point
I see what you did there ......
MHH Does not seem to have the crunch and simplicity of the 33, which were the reason why its so cool.
as a music noobie but with love for pocket operators, the workflow is quite different, right?
godammit TE, I don't wanna want more, but here I am, wanting mooooorrrrrre! Thanks?
wow this video got me so jazzed. I'm late to the game by about a week though and seems like they're all about sold out. I WANT.
For me, this is a game changer. I have a SmplTrek from Sonicware, I had a PO33 (sold because of limitations), but live playing on the PO series is just so fun! Now I just have to sold the Smpltrek, the new EP133 is just what I was wating for ! A real live sampler with memory and the famous Punch'in fx ! Sequencing with bar (with the screen) is a cool improvement, this lil' monster make me electrised !
Love this. A Volca like series of these would be amazing!
It's not made by Korg tho?
The fact that this matches my MPC Live 2 retro makes it even easier to make an excuse to buy 😝this machine will KILL everything under $500.
This demo makes me appreciate what a wizard Cuckoo is even more.
IM SO GLAD YOU FREAKED OUT THE SAME WAY I WAS DAMN
It seems really fun.
very nice finally a T.E. product that I will considering to buy
Mate I would be so so so so thrilled for a video yamaha yc vs ck.
Comparing sounds especially
