I really enjoyed Ash’s entry. As a rule I always assume people I watch on TH-cam are faking their personas in at least some measure, but Access has always seemed to me to be a group of genuine, classy people just doing what they love. I’m happy Ash likes her team so much…this is the crew you deserve Ash 🤙🏻

@@tiduswhiteblade8535 It's amazing what happens when you're in an atmosphere that is kind & supportive and no longer in, what is seemingly constantly said by those who leave, an incredibly toxic and sexist work environment. Ever notice that the majority of the ones who leave Whatculture, well since the Cultaholic/Triple Jump folks left, are ALL WOMEN? Rachel, Ash, Kirsten, and a few other women all left in the last year and a half. And I wouldn't be shocked if 2 of the 3 new women leave soon because they're almost never used anymore.
I can't imagine Access without Ash anymore even when she first joined it felt like she'd been in there forever. I think Ash, Rosie, Holly, and Elle would do a great letsplay of Gang Beasts with the boys off to the side, just watching awestruck and in mild fear (wouldn't blame them.)
The only other place I could ever see Ash going would be team OX but that's such a tight knit group even within that journalism company, that I doubt anyone will leave or be added too OxBoXTra any time soon.
I would have laughed so hard if while Rob was talking about Metal Gear they just had a clip of Dave erasing the Metal Gear whiteboard sobbing or shaking his head lol

Honestly the only video game lies I tell are to myself, usually stuff like "one more go" or "I'll play this when I'm done with my current game".

I was able to get caught up with 100+ games by playing all day every chance I had(so just some weekends and summers) throughout 2011-2013 and some of 2010 and 2014. Since then I play games as they come out and I’ve played another 100+. Also I’ve watched a ton more. But I’m still not caught up with manga/anime after like several years lol

I got thru like 4-5 games i half finished but didnt when my hrs got cut due to the quarantine. I then rented the entire yakuza series and just playing those this yr so there goes that backlog. I am ignoring the yakuza series for my backlog.

I feel for rob, as someone who had Bioshock spoiled for them but still went back to complete it. It's just not the same.
The same happened to me with Mass Effect 3 and I just can’t make myself finish it. I’ve tried so many times.

Rob and the Metal Gear entry made me sad. Poor Rob. I think everyone has experienced something like that - at least once - especially in this social media day of age ☹
I play an online game every 2 to 3 years. I usually regret it.

“If you have the right people”. 2:24. That’s the key to enjoying online games however that’s easier said than done imo. In my 40s, all I ever run into are entitled gamers who lack the friendly vibes and want you to always invite them. That’s exhausting and so I prefer single player. I used to run with a group where we would send invites, kept in touch and had a good laugh but those days are long gone. For those who have found a good group, kudos and best wishes to all of you.
I too want Caddicarus to come onto the channel just to see Rosie drink a load of water.
Nath's revelation was freaking amazing. That buildup and then the reveal!
I keeep feeling Rob and Rosie share so many stories... they feel like surrogate brother and sister; is so wholesome

Can't imagine having MGS5 spoiled after all those years of build up. It was my most anticipated game of all time and, despite the flaws, I played the absolute hell out of that game.
I feel you Rob, this is why I have a hard completing Red Dead Redemption 2 and Tales of Bersaria. Knowing the ending before hand spoils the fun.
I unfortunately also had red dead ending ruined for me but I have to say you should definitely finish it. I am VERY rarely emotionally invested in games etc and I nearly cried haha I also got the good ending. but dunno if I have it in me to finish it again for the other 2 endings.
One of the reasons I haven't yet played Uncharted 4.
Rob should play it in a stream, play it with all of us cheering him on. It can be a surprise to those of us that don't know the ending as we watch in chat.

It seems he agrees it’s awesome, probably really enjoys the gameplay like everyone else, but every time he plays it he’s reminded he’ll never have that fresh experience, so I think he feels there’s nothing there for him at this point.
My biggest lie: For years I told all my friend that I beat Final Fantasy 7. I claimed it was so awesome and “Yeah I loved that part too” Whereas really I didn’t have patience for it, secretly disliked the turn based combat and really I just watched my cousins play it and I used a cheat cartridge to see all the cutscenes. SHAME!

Paused the video to comment. I totally agree with Nath, for a good 2 years my friends group would only play timesplitters 2 split screen deathmatches and i hated but had to put up with it and play it for a good solid 2 years 😂 well done Nath for having the courage to say this now
My lie is similar to Ash's, in that "I don't enjoy MP games" but really, I have abandonment issues and don't want to get used to playing with friends, only to have them leave for another game and thus lose the camaraderie.
I understand Rob, I had Final Fantasy 7 Remake spoiled for me despite me actively avoiding media. Just one person spoiled the whole thing with a single thumbnail on their ytube video near the games release and I haven't been able to play it since. I have watched a playthrough and enjoyed it, but still feel slightly miserable. One day, maybe.
What I'm surprised about is that you hadn't figured out Eli 😂 I thought it was obvious but I was obsessed with mgs5, and it's different to figure it out for yourself of course❤️

We thought Rob was BigBoss... turns out he was just Venom Snake.
No worries Rob, I felt something off when playing MGS V and you're not alone! Its truly missing all that Kojima-esque exposition and narrative. Although the gameplay is impeccable, the environments are completely forgettable and its just feels like an incomplete vision. It doesn't give me those Metal Gear Vibes from the past
But the mission where you have to stop the infected in mother base was hands down the best mission in the series
Mate, same. As a huge MGS fan, the gameplay pulled me through but the magic was definitely missing. And the narrative was a huge slap in the face. MGSV is the only game in the series I've only played once, whereas I've lost count of how many times I've replayed the others.
And the 3rd chapter not being finished kind of ruins things
The launch trailers had so much more! Animals on Mother Base. Helicopters flying over. So much life. The final game is so bare
Nath's was perfect. The long setup, then the sudden explosion.
For me, I haven't LIED about this, but I haven't beaten Final Fantasy VII. So I feel like my life is a lie.

14:54 It's alright Rob. Took me about 80 hours to see the "ending". Spent too much time faffing about doing side ops and capturing soldiers! I'm about 250 hours now I think and 94% to Game completion and the platinum. Kojima wasn't lying when he said there was a lot of stuff in the game
On a secret, important mission to possibly save the world from total war... but wait, is that an S class soldier over there?... screw everything I must capture him!!

Metal Gear Solid V: The Pearson Pain
As someone who absolutely love the Dragon Age series. I've delved deep into the games, have all the book, and have all the comic books. I have (and it pains me to say this) never beaten Dragon Age Origins
This physically pains me since Origins is so good, but it also took me six years and over 1000 hours to complete my first playthrough of Inquisition (on easy!) so I cannot judge since I have that as my truly embarrassing gamer secret. I also have just about all of the books, movie, comic books and art books.
It also took me restarting FFX at least twelve times over the course of ten years to finish it, too.
There isn't any shame in not finishing a game, just a compulsion to complete the game. I hope one day you'll finish. I believe in you and it is worth every moment! My Tabris would high five your warden!

Rob, you are, for reals, my role model (even though you're only a couple years older Haha), and we would totally be best friends if we had grown up together or worked together. I too, never finished MGS V and I've always considered myself the biggest MGS fan ever since the original on PS1.. I'm ashamed to admit it, but there it is..
Also, the exact same thing happened to me with Red Dead redemption 2, the ending was spoiled for me (just 2 weeks after release!), when I was listening to a radio program (that had NOTHING to do with video games, it was just a coincidental topic on that day), and it resulted in me putting the game down for 9 months...a game that I LOVED and was waiting patiently for

My biggest lie is that I won't obsessively explore every dialogue option and screenshot every single one in Dragon Age games. It took me six years to finish Inquisition because I was so neurotic about it. I am on my second ever playthrough of Dragon Age Origins and I regret not taking screenshots on my first playthrough, especially since I am on my evil playthrough right now.

It's ok Rob. I beat all the other metal gear solid games a million times. I beat 4 at least 11 times. Got 5 and only got like halfway through. Vod squad!
My biggest lie in gaming: I love RPG. Every kind. I lie. Sometimes, some games can be really brilliant and I cant even tolerate them: Ni no kuni 2, have it, even with paid dlc, vut for the life of me I cant bring myself to finish it.
Dragon quest XI, the best Dragon Quest, I cant even fathom to play it since I grow bored of the music.
Final Fantasy X, I got stuck in Seymour at Mont Gagazet and had to restart the whole game. Couldnt be bothered and just helped my dad complete it again.
For crying out loud, I havent even played Skyrim!
I may like the stories, I love twewy neo, i love final fantasy ix, boy, I loves, LOVED Ys Lacrimosa of Dana... But some rpgs dont make me love all rpgs.
To be fair to Nathan, people love Time Splitters 2 for the original storyline and varied levels. The controls were pretty awkward.

Biggest gaming lie, 🤔, telling my friend I beat Prince of Persia 2008 when it came out. Then a month later at mutual friend's game night, my friend asking me to help with the water pond puzzles 😵.

Ya know...... I dedicated my whole summer of 2019 to platinuming MGSV, and after 260 hours of Bossing some big baddies I finally achieved the Mgsv platinum. Literally as soon as I popped the Trophy I tweeted the Screenshot to Rob hoping my favorite PSA member (sorry Dave ,Nath,&Rosie. Ash you wasn't there so you're excused)
would give me a like or a "Solid" congrats on my accomplishment, and..... I was left ignored, like Robs back catalogue. Now after watching this video it all makes sense! I'm a forgiving guy though. I'm willing to give Rob the chance to be my fav again if he can congratulate me here. If not! The first PSA member to just give me a good old pat on the back can be my new favorite..... It still hurts, but I still love you guys with all my heart.
Dammmmn I just realised that Nathan would be in 40s, (since timesplitters 2 was released in 2002 and he joined the industry when he was 23) I certainly wouldn’t of been able to tell I mean I thought Rob was the older one.

also, my game lie would probably be, i generally say graphics arent to important in games because of games like undertale, and while i do beleiie this, i often find myself judging games by graphics, NOT always, but fairly often,
Rob the exact same thing happened to me also being a mgs fan, i usually still play it on my birthday but like you said everytime i load the game i feel a little bit sad.
My friend was excited for Horizon Zero Dawn and turned me on to it. I platinumed it VERY quickly, think it was my first plat. He always pretended he was further in the game and that he beat it but we are network friends and we compared trophies once and uh yea he’s a big liar lol I never told him that I knew, though.
Holy f***, Rob! What a reveal! I hung in there, but it became clear that the side ops would never end! I put over 300hrs into the game, spending an entire summer vacation on it in solitude 🤣😂🤣

5:17 Oh Nath... I do have those magazines from when you started. Even got the issue where a reader compared you to the cop from Freddy vs Jason. I was reading through them recently looking for specific information segments for a project I'm working on, and there you were!
MGSV is a masterpiece, I love it so much. Don't worry about the spoilers, just play it Rob, trust me you will still get a lot out of it.
Also these silly memes about the game being unfinished need to stop, the game was very much a complete and intended experience. Kojima has said many times that he made the game he wanted and is perfectly happy with it. The game makes its point and is thematically complete, regardless of a lack of a traditional final boss fight.
