Saw Motörhead just before Lemmy died. You could tell Phil and Mikkey knew that any of the shows could be Lemmy's last one, and they went the extra mile to make him comfortable and to entertain the crowd. Lemmy was only half alive but he was still the man. He pulled through the whole show and gave everything he got. That was the only time I saw Motörhead and I am super grateful that I got to go. I was in tears when I hear he passed. He was not only a rock god but a fantastic human.

I went to my very first concert in 2013, it was Metallica concert live in Malaysia. The best moment in my life 😭. Few days after the concert, I still can't sleep properly because my brain and ear keep hearing that massive sound/riff from this concert. It is not disturbing, it just incredible. I got to see Metallica in Philadelphia 3 years ago when I was in 7th grade. Easily one on the best nights of my life! Really hope I get to see them again someday! 🤞🤘
My first concert was The Wiggles when I was 4. I just remember how insane the kids went during the show. I’ve seen Springsteen twice. The best was the Wrecking Ball tour in 2012. It was a 3 1/2 hour show. So moving and such an emotional moment for 12 year old me. I went to Experience Hendrix once and as a young guitar student it was so inspirational to see Billy Cox (Jimi’s friend and bassist during the Band of Gypsies era) as well as Eric Johnson, Zakk Wylde, Dweezil Zappa, Buddy Guy and Kenny Wayne Shepard all there and playing my favorite guitarist’s work. I saw Rain who are a Beatles cover band. The gimmick is they change their outfits throughout the show as the eras of the Beatles pass. The effect really sold me on this being more than just a cover band. They love this band as much as all the fans do. Then I saw Brit Floyd. That was special. Pink Floyd is my favorite band and David Gilmour along with Hendrix were my two biggest guitar inspirations. Seeing the Floyd light show and screen recreated as well as incredibly accurate versions of Pink Floyd’s music was incredible. I’ve seen Joe Bonamassa once and he was great although his mic was a little off. The last concert I went to was The Rolling Stones. Being one of my favorite bands and one of the first bands that left an impact on me, it was stunning to see these guys still doing it after all these years. It was emotional to see people of all ages there. It makes you realize (similar to the Springsteen show) how an artist can really transcend time through great music. That is my concert resumé. Nowhere near 50 but I’ve got plenty of life left in me.
Great job, that was awesome,I'm 56 and have seen lots of bands, but the one concert stands out at what i would consider the hardest working band has to go to pantera, the who in 81 was pretty rad too.thanks rock on folks
My best? Bon Jovi at Hyde Park. 2013. The stars aligned and I got to duck out of a work trip to Croatia early to spend 24 hours in London to catch a concert with my best mate (who moved there a decade earlier). We'd been planning to see them together for nearly 20 years. Runner up, Sebastian Bach opening for GNR in Perth in 2007. What a nut case. So good. Wish I was there : INXS, Wembley, 1991.

The best concert I've been to by far is Iron Maiden from their Legacy of the Beast tour. I've seen them 3 times. Here's the list of shows I've been to. Metallica twice Blue Oyster Cult 10 times Doobie Brothers twice Kansas twice Cheap Trick twice ZZ Top twice Ted Nugent five times Avenged Sevenfold (with Metallica) Ghost (with Iron Maiden) Heart Trans-Siberian Orchestra 3 times Alter Bridge 4 times Styx twice Def Leppard twice REO Speedwagon Deep Purple Lynyrd Skynyrd Slipknot (with Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth) Slayer (with Lamb of God, Anthrax, Testament and Napalm Death) Slash feat Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators Distrubed Evanescence George Thorogood Alice Cooper (with Halestorm and Motionless in White) Joe Bonamassa Peter Frampton Robin Trower Sammy Hagar (with David Lee Roth) Twisted Sister
I was at that rage against the machine concert! The reason for them playing was to protest the two party system, not long after that show they would break up. That was my personal second favorite show, I even have brad wilks drumsticks from that night. My favorite concert was tool who ironically was at that same venue but actually inside the building.
In no particular order: August Burns Red Trivium Lamb of God Bullet for my Valentine Metallica Megadeth The Offspring Roger Waters (The Wall) A Day to Remember Parkway Drive System of a Down Disturbed Slipknot Machine Head Joe Satriani Experience Hendrix (Steve Vai, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, etc.) Story of the Year Hatebreed Terror Alexisonfire All That Remains Animal as Leaders Periphery Avenged Sevenfold Killswitch Engage Billy Talent Chelsea Grin Despised Icon Emarosa For Today Rise Against Skindred Veil of Maya Whitechapel
This is fun. I started doing this about 5 years ago. I was digging up the concert, openers, date, venue. I used setlist, band touring pages, friend's memories. I'm at over 100 concerts myself. I put them all on setlist and AskFM, so they're "saved" so to speak. I know I'm missing a few more too but can't track down the concert dates. Definitely an activity that makes you smile from the memories. Cheers.
4:47 OMG Toad is my FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME!!! Glad you remembered to include them! No, they’re not a flashy rock band with a huge stage presence, but they have the best music and are all super cool guys. I think they would get a chuckle out of being #29.5, too. ;)
I’m not a kiss fan. However I was offered a free ticket to go see them in the mid 90s. Knowing only a small handful of songs like 3. I will say live they were an awesome show.
Hey Mike, thanks for making this video! We appreciate your perspective brother. Ever seen QOTSA live? I saw them a handful of times, they're reliable. But when they're really fucked up, magic happens. Josh has an amazing presence on stage. Yawning Man was amazing. They played this meditative thing once at a show in London and it was the only time in my entire life I was able to sleep standing up.
We've probably been at the same shows because I used to go to The Mirage all the time. In South Minneapolis. Loved that venue. Savatage in 94 at The Mirage was one of my favorite shows. It's on TH-cam. :) Mr. Big, Motley Cru, Tyketto, Firehouse, Dream Theater all played the Mirage. My top show of all time is King's X at Ground Zero on their Tape Head tour. October 19th, 1998. BEST. CONCERT EVER. One last thing. I used to work at Title Wave Music & Video in Coon Rapids. Great memories.
Ty Segall (most talented rock musician of the last decade without question), NiN (with Janes Addiction), and The Who are my personal favorite shows I've ever attended.
Mike, i’m 13 (a month until 14) and the other day my mom said in the car that we could go see KISS in nashville in october, been a diehard fan for about a year now and it’s gonna entirely change my life.
I've seen Prince live 9 times. Even flew to Vegas specifically to see him. Lovesexy was the first tour I saw. I didn't get the medley thing at first; I was way young and didn't know musically what he was doing. But I saw a German show from this tour on TH-cam a few years ago and thought "holy s--- I was at this show/tour". Zoo TV is my favorite show of all time. Still surreal with all that neural stimulation.
Saw Rush on all but 1 or 2 tours starting from Presto(@90),Page & Plant, Black Crowes with Jimmy Page, Dream Theater in a small venue on their Images and Word tour, Pink Floyd(Division Bell tour), Metallica a couple of times, GnR opening for Motley Crue, Kiss on one of their Farewell tours, and Jethro Tull which was awesome to name a few. Have tickets for Metallica in November because one of my new favorite bands, The Warning (a young power trio of sisters from Mexico) was added to the bill. Looking forward to that!! I know I've seen a few other greats but slipping my old mind right now.
This made me very nostalgic for the old Mirage in south Minneapolis. I saw many great shows there, including the Dream Theater show you mentioned. I saw Anthrax there twice with John Bush as well. I also miss Ryan’s in lowertown St.Paul and Triple Rock near Cedar/Riverside. We’ve lost some great club venues over the years. At least we still have 7th Street/First Ave!
Im in my 40's now and so glad I got to see so many good bands on great tours back when they were at their peak in the 80's and 90's. Megadeth, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails, Pantera, Judas Priest, Testament, Coroner, Overkill, Anthrax, Sevendust, Slayer, Prong, Alice Cooper, Ministry, Dark New Day, Faith No More, God Lives Underwater, Soul Coughing, and so many more. A lot of these tours and shows you saw are the same ones I saw. These days ive been so lucky to do art for people like Bobby Gustafson and Sid Falck (both formerly Overkill) in their recent bands and meet some of the people that inspired me to pick up a guitar and drums as a kid
My Bro-in-law won "Pit Passes" to Metallica off Z-Rock so we were inside their stage on the Black Album Tour in '91 in Dallas. I saw them a 2nd time in Dallas with Faith No More and GnR. This was right after James was burned by the pyrotechnics and Kirk's guitar tech/Metal Church guitarist John Marshall was playing guitar and James was just singing. Imagine that. GnR was very late getting on stage because of Axl Rose.
I got to see Styx, Steve Augeri at our local 4th of July fest (back when I lived in Kentucky), Foo Fighters, Bad Religion, 3DG, POD, and Shinedown (twice), Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Tool, and this September I get to see AIC (unfortunately it’s not Layne but still really awesome)!
from what Ive heard, during images and words, dream theater would also do an encore song, and at least one of those times, that song was A Change of Seasons. a 20+ min epic they did around that time. wish I couldve seen that
Haven't been out to too many shows but The Wood Brothers always kill it live. Also got to see Jeremy Enigk solo which was really intimate. His voice is so unique and he can still sing as good as ever.
It's so hard to pick favorite concerts I've seen but these shows for sure stood out. Metallica-Master of Puppets tour. Megadeth-Rust in Peace tour. Roger Waters-The Wall tour. Death-Scream Bloody Gore tour. Monsters of Rock tour (with VH, Scorpions,Metallica, etc) Metallica-Justice for All tour, M.O D.-USA for MOD tour, Death-Leprosy tour, I could go on and on and on. all the times I seen Rush,Yes,Deep Purple,Dio,Ozzy,Kiss,Aerosmith,Robert Plant, Countless Metallica shows and tours, One strange line up Metallica show I seen was Aerosmith,Black Crowes, and Metallica on the same bill, Great Great show!! Seen hundreds of bands live, One thing I miss most was the ticket prices back in the day.
I've always heard that Prince was just phenomenal live. My greatest live gig was Anthrax in Newcastle, Australia back in 1997 on the 'Stomp 442' tour. John Bush almost got into a fight with the security. Frankie fell off the stage. The band walked off at one point, and and Scott Ian came out to the mic and addressed the crowd. He said: "This is the craziest show we've seen since Jersey in '82..." The band then came back on and just took the roof off the place.
Best show seen. the White strips in a Theater that sat only about 300 people. They just hammered out song after song it was none Stop. They sounded awesome the music was just flowing over the crowd. Jack seemed to have gone into a trance playing ball and a biscuit. It was a Hendrix like moment. pure sonic bliss.
My first show was the Beach Boys as a kid. Then it was White Zombie with the Ramones in 1995, when I was in 6th grade. Quite the leap. Loudest show was Down with the Melvins hands down. P.S. I love you mentioning the local and underground bands, you're legit.
Ah, the good old days when we could go to a ton of gigs... I used to go to 30 gigs a year, mostly to hear all the good artists while they're still around. My most memorable Top 10 rock gigs in no particular order: Bon Jovi in 2006 @ Milton Keynes UK (my first proper rock concert, lost my voice after that one), Extreme in 2009 in Boston (my fave band since teenage years, got to be front row for the live DVD recording of that gig), Steve Vai in 2008 (got to watch soundcheck and pester him with my wannabe guitarist questions), Chris Cornell, Prince x3, Foreigner (playing a 600-capacity club in 90F heat after having played large outdoor festivals just days before), Chris Rea opening for himself under the cover of darkness, U2 playing in torrential rain, Muse on their Drone tour, Velvet Revolver days before splitting up. The list could go on...
Really feel ya on what you said about seeing Jeff Buckley & Dimebag shortly before they passed. One of my top 50 would be Stevie Ray Vaughan and it was his second to last show. So many others on your list and mine who have passed away, for me starting way back with Terry Kath a couple years after I saw Chicago (yeah, I am old), some way, way too young. Feel both lucky to have seen them and devastated to know I’ll never again be able to.
I saw Ozzy on the Bark at the Moon tour. Also on the bill was Motley Crue. They were supporting their Shout at the Devil Tour. I also got to see Metallica on their Ride the Lightning tour a few months later. The venue was small. It was cool to see them in such a small place.
the only bands im really sorry that i never had the oportunity to watch live were ; QUEEN , Black Sabbath and Led Zepplin... and if i may include as a band Michael Jackson...
No doubt when Music is in your soul you adore too many! MICHAEL Jackson ( Best entertainer of all, and Janet J) Prince Tracey Chapman George Michael Queen BOB Marley (good coffee) The list is LONG.
Loved your Tori Amos and Weezer stories Mike. Mine had to be Nine Inch Nails second only to Tool when it comes to the pinnacle of what a modern rock show could be. Just keep being a relatable and overall awesome dude. Thanks
RE: Beastie Boys and the monks. Adam Yauch (MCA) was a huge supporter of monks in Tibet who were being, well, to put it lightly: GROSSLY mistreated by China. MCA met some of them on a ski trip and from there he was very vocal about their emancipation, even starting a Tibetan Freedom Concert series for the cause. Good stuff! Yauch was truly an amazing human. RIP.
#1 - Thin Lizzy Live and Dangerous tour #2 - KISS Destroyer tour #3 - Aerosmith Rocks tour #4 - AC/DC Back in Black tour #5 - Lynyrd Skynyrd Street Survivors tour (pre-plane crash) Yeah.....I'm old
I never got to see a RUSH concert and it has been a real sorrow for me. They are My favorite group and there is nothing I would have loved more than to go to one. Unfortunately, a worker I had to be to survive.
I’m spoiled and got to see them four times before they retired, it absolutely crushes me that others can’t see them live now. That being said, my memory is slowly fading of those events so...the dvds still help me remember the moments. I wish I could go back in time and take you and others with me to go!
That was great hearing Fear Factory mentioned. Seem so underrated and deserving of much more attention. I got to see them open for Zombie during his Hellbilly Deluxe tour and I was blown away. Never even heard of them at the time and now I'm a huge fan, that concert was so powerful and intense, shock, edge crusher, linchpin, there cover of Cars was just damn. I wish they had done more that night and cancelled Monster Magnet who was terrible, singer was so wasted the guitarist had to keep pulling him back onto the stage because he'd almost walk off the edge or just fall down.
#34 was the first on your list I saw and only a total of 14 total. Top 5 for me #5 Guns & Roses- AFD tour cycle, Sweet Child had yet to break. It was a make up for two cancelled shows, It was two nights it was chaos it was dangerous, and Axl busted his lip on the Mic and spat blood for most of the encore #4 David Lee Roth- Eat Em and Smile #3 Van Halen - 1980 Invasion #2 Aerosmith - Pump #1 Page /Plant- By far the best show. Now I have had more fun/ crazier times but musically nothing beat them
I've been to dozens of performances of many great bands (mostly during their peak) but The Who's "Quadrophenia" anniversary tour and their show in Detroit blows any other concert I've attended out of the water. It really makes it more impressive that they were in their 70's and played for over two and a half hours.
Wow, I’m very jealous! I’ve been blessed enough to see kiss and Metallica is next on my list. That’s how I found your channel and fell in love with it. We both have this deep love for kiss.
I haven’t attended too many shows, but of the ones I remember, here’s a pretty eclectic list: Pray For Rain (PFR) was a Christian rock band that specialized in Beatles-influenced rock tunes and they were wonderful. Very catchy and fun to see live. Maynard Ferguson, who was a jazz trumpeter in the 60s-70s who had many popular renditions of big tunes. His band just slayed and he was insane as always. Talk about piercing; loud guitars might be your thing, but imagine being very close to the stage while a brass-heavy band plays super loud all night! Toad The Wet Sprocket, who is my favorite band of all time, had many good concerts I attended. And finally, the British vocal group The King’s Singers. I saw them in the early 90s and we got to meet them. That was a wonderful concert!
Number one for me was seeing Pink Floyd on the Pulse tour. I have seen a lot of concerts, but this one was so far ahead of many of the others. Saw them in San Antonio, Tx. Hearing Comfortably Young live with the two solos blew my mind. Best live solo I have ever seen or heard. I also saw Metallica on the Black Tour. I got LUCKY and had 2nd row center. I got even luckier when Hetfield picked me to sing the chorus for "Seek and Destroy". When I was done he shouted and I quote "That is a metal voice"! I was living in a dream at that time. Hetfield LIKED my voice. He also tossed me the guitar pick he was using for the same song. He seemed to like me because he kept flicking me off during the concert. I would do the same back to him and he would laugh and smile. This was back when I had long hair, so don't let my pic fool ya! LOL! Sorry for the long post! :-)
Without a doubt, the best show I have seen live was Def Leppard. They are by no means my favorite band, but their live show is flawless. The songs, the performance,..the sound. The backing vocals alone were worth the price of admission. A lot of people think that they use tapes for their vocals...but no, they are simply a band that can sing. Sure, the drummer uses things like tambourine loops, for an obvious and justifiable reason. But they are truly one of the last 'live' bands. ....the best performance I have ever seen on video was Triumph. I don't think that there has ever been a tighter live band than those guys. Check out their performance at the 83 US festival. To put on that show as a true 3-piece is absolutely mind-blowing. They added a 2nd guitarist who also played additional keyboard parts on later tours. But in 83, they were still performing as a true 3 piece.
I saw most of the bands on your list. My number one was Pink Floyd, who I saw on two different tours. Nothing even comes close to watching Gilmour play the Comfortably Numb solo live. The entire show was just jaw dropping. Second place was Eric Clapton, then Metallica, Ozzy (Diary of a Madman tour), Judas Priest, GNR, White Zombie, Smashing Pumpkins, and a whole lot more. Heart was fantastic, and I loved how Nancy really cut loose playing live. They played much heavier than their recordings.
I've been to at least 200 myself. We have a lot of cross-over for the top 50 even though I'm guessing from context I'm probably 10 years older or so. KISS was also my first concert, but it was in 1978.
Lucky to have seen most of the bands on my bucket list. Metallica, Megadeth, Black Sabbath with original line up and also Dio with heaven and hell. Umphreys McGee is the best live act around! Never heard of em before, and was blown away at the musicianship and production.
Being 'old,' I haven't seen any of the bands you mention. My last concert just a couple years ago was Eric Burdon. Also saw him in 1968 in San Francisco when he formed 'WAR.' My list in no particular order: Jimi Cream Doors Janis & Big Brother (my first live band) Blue Cheer (talk about LOUD!!!) Fleetwood Mac (about 10 years ago) Iron Butterfly Chambers Brothers Love w/Arthur Lee The Byrds The Dead Creedence 10 Years After Santana Moby Grape Quicksilver The Airplane Jethro Tull Chicago Procol Harum Robin Trower Traffic Lee Michaels AC/DC (For Those About To Rock) ZZ Top Steve Miller Missed Zeppelin when Plant got in the car wreck. Canned Heat Albert King Son House Buddy Guy Taj Mahal I'm sure there's a lot I've forgotten and so many that I didn't see.
First one was Motorhead in edinburgh, the best one was the Priest comeback show at the london astoria in 98 with tim owens in place of halford, the live album whilst good dosent even capture half of it!.
he doesn't even play the guitar in this one, he just holds it ominously like he's about to burst into stairway to heaven in a music instrument store at any moment

Hey, I think I remember you. LOL What's funny is I've seen BOC more than an other, followed by the Nuge.
Lucky
I was at that rage against the machine concert! The reason for them playing was to protest the two party system, not long after that show they would break up. That was my personal second favorite show, I even have brad wilks drumsticks from that night. My favorite concert was tool who ironically was at that same venue but actually inside the building.
In no particular order:
August Burns Red
Trivium
Lamb of God
Bullet for my Valentine
Metallica
Megadeth
The Offspring
Roger Waters (The Wall)
A Day to Remember

This is fun. I started doing this about 5 years ago. I was digging up the concert, openers, date, venue. I used setlist, band touring pages, friend's memories. I'm at over 100 concerts myself. I put them all on setlist and AskFM, so they're "saved" so to speak. I know I'm missing a few more too but can't track down the concert dates. Definitely an activity that makes you smile from the memories. Cheers.
Awesome trip down memory lane. Love it. Hopefully the other YT guys respond in kind. Great job!
4:47 OMG Toad is my FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME!!! Glad you remembered to include them! No, they’re not a flashy rock band with a huge stage presence, but they have the best music and are all super cool guys. I think they would get a chuckle out of being #29.5, too. ;)
50 Concerts?! I barely even seen 4 Concerts where I'm totally Interested on.
Awesome to see that you know Bradley Hall
Also I like how you're holding a guitar in this vid ready to strike a d chord the whole time
I saw Melt-Banana live about 9 years ago. One of the best-mixed and most audible shows I’ve ever been to. It was perfect.
KISS are mixed in terms of their discography for enjoyment but goddam they really know how to put on a show.
Kiss records are like Pizza. Not always superb, but never bad.
I’m not a kiss fan. However I was offered a free ticket to go see them in the mid 90s. Knowing only a small handful of songs like 3. I will say live they were an awesome show.
the only rock concert I've ever been to was ACDC in 2008. I was lucky enough to see them when it was still all the main members
Mr.
My first ever concert was Pantera on the 'Far Beyond Driven' tour. I caught one of Rex's picks.
Tool is my favorite band and I’ve seen them three times. I’m still jealous my dad saw Zeppelin twice!
Toad the Wet Sprocket was one of the best live shows I’ve seen hands down
I forgot all about that band.
You are absolutely correct. Best sound quality I've heard live. Great band, that gets overlooked far too often.
U2, Muse and Green Day are all must-see live bands
I've seen Prince live 9 times. Even flew to Vegas specifically to see him. Lovesexy was the first tour I saw. I didn't get the medley thing at first; I was way young and didn't know musically what he was doing. But I saw a German show from this tour on TH-cam a few years ago and thought "holy s--- I was at this show/tour".
Zoo TV is my favorite show of all time. Still surreal with all that neural stimulation.
Seems like you had a pretty dreamy life my man, really glad for you!
The Mirage! I snuck into a Pantera concert at that place. Also seems like I was in a similar section of the Metrodome for FNM
I got to see Styx, Steve Augeri at our local 4th of July fest (back when I lived in Kentucky), Foo Fighters, Bad Religion, 3DG, POD, and Shinedown (twice), Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Tool, and this September I get to see AIC (unfortunately it’s not Layne but still really awesome)!
from what Ive heard, during images and words, dream theater would also do an encore song, and at least one of those times, that song was A Change of Seasons. a 20+ min epic they did around that time. wish I couldve seen that
Kiss was my first concert back in 2000. It was a life changing experience and the reason I started playing guitar
Haven't been out to too many shows but The Wood Brothers always kill it live. Also got to see Jeremy Enigk solo which was really intimate. His voice is so unique and he can still sing as good as ever.
I saw the Clash of the Titans tour too! it was Alice in Chains, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax.
This was a great list man. Hearing Doctor Beato's would be pretty cool
Omg Pete! TON did a local show, that I believe was the last tour that he was able to do, and I had to work, so I didn't go. I am so pissed.
Best concert I’ve been to was Mastodon, KSE, and Slayer. Funniest concert was Yes, where one dude kept yelling, “Roundabout,” followed by, “Slayer!!!”
He said: "This is the craziest show we've seen since Jersey in '82..."
The band then came back on and just took the roof off the place.
Motley Crue - Carnival of Sins , one of the best shows I've seen , Also Iron Maiden Powerslave Tour in the 80's was amazing
I’ve never been able to go to a single concert for anyone :(
Me, too😞
My first show was the Beach Boys as a kid. Then it was White Zombie with the Ramones in 1995, when I was in 6th grade. Quite the leap. Loudest show was Down with the Melvins hands down.
P.S.
I love you mentioning the local and underground bands, you're legit.
Prong are an awesome live band. Tommy Victor has such a great voice, stage presence and the riffing is outworldly.
Surprising how you never went to a SOAD concert. I bet you would have enjoyed watching Daron.
Maybe he went but it wasn't good enough to make the list.
First and best.... Black Crowes 92 Glasgow barrowlands...high as the moon tour...nearly bounced to the moon on that wooden floor :)
MICHAEL Jackson ( Best entertainer of all, and Janet J)
Prince
Tracey Chapman
George Michael
Queen
BOB Marley (good coffee)
The list is LONG.
I have sadly never been to a concert, i was supposed to see iron maiden in may 2020 but obviously it didnt work out :(
Me too!!
Same i was going to see megadeth but covid happened
😷
Loved your Tori Amos and Weezer stories Mike. Mine had to be Nine Inch Nails second only to Tool when it comes to the pinnacle of what a modern rock show could be. Just keep being a relatable and overall awesome dude. Thanks
You actually saw Jeff Buckley live?!
I would pay any amount of money to see his show. May he rest in peace.
Top bands you haven't seen live but wish you would have?
Love your channel and love your content. Keep it going 🤘
Nice one Mike 😎
RE: Beastie Boys and the monks. Adam Yauch (MCA) was a huge supporter of monks in Tibet who were being, well, to put it lightly: GROSSLY mistreated by China. MCA met some of them on a ski trip and from there he was very vocal about their emancipation, even starting a Tibetan Freedom Concert series for the cause.
Good stuff! Yauch was truly an amazing human. RIP.
#1 - Thin Lizzy Live and Dangerous tour
#2 - KISS Destroyer tour
#3 - Aerosmith Rocks tour
#4 - AC/DC Back in Black tour
#5 - Lynyrd Skynyrd Street Survivors tour (pre-plane crash)
Yeah.....I'm old
Oops, I forgot another "best concert".....Van Halen, opening for Black Sabbath (1978)
I never got to see a RUSH concert and it has been a real sorrow for me. They are
My favorite group and there is nothing I would have loved more than to go to one.
I was fortunate enough to see Rush twice. My only regret is I didn't see them more. Rush was amazing in concert.
Only been to one. Slipknot in Manchester! The good ol’ behemoth opened and it was amazing!
Was gojira there too?
Fun fact, lead guitarist for Fight was Russ Parrish (depending on year) who is now known as Satchel of Steel Panther!
#34 was the first on your list I saw and only a total of 14 total. Top 5 for me
#5 Guns & Roses- AFD tour cycle, Sweet Child had yet to break. It was a make up for two cancelled shows, It was two nights it was chaos it was dangerous, and Axl busted his lip on the Mic and spat blood for most of the encore
#4 David Lee Roth- Eat Em and Smile
#3 Van Halen - 1980 Invasion
#2 Aerosmith - Pump
#1 Page /Plant- By far the best show. Now I have had more fun/ crazier times but musically nothing beat them
Seen fear factory quite a few times now, always amazing
I've been to dozens of performances of many great bands (mostly during their peak) but The Who's "Quadrophenia" anniversary tour and their show in Detroit blows any other concert I've attended out of the water. It really makes it more impressive that they were in their 70's and played for over two and a half hours.
I would've loved to see that Metallica/GNR/FNM concert in '92, three of my favorite bands who were all (arguably) at their peak.
Great night at Oakland Raiders stadium.
Wow that quite an impressive list .. I need to do mine
My #1 concert is KISS, as well. Varsity Stadium, Toronto. September 6, 1976. Destroyer tour.
I am subscribed to Rick Beato! Love his videos. Especially What Makes this Song Great.
Solid selection!
Umphreys is bad ass
Being 'old,' I haven't seen any of the bands you mention. My last concert just a couple years ago was Eric Burdon. Also saw him in 1968 in San Francisco when he formed 'WAR.' My list in no particular order:
Jimi
Cream
Doors
Janis & Big Brother (my first live band)
Blue Cheer (talk about LOUD!!!)
Fleetwood Mac (about 10 years ago)
Iron Butterfly
Chambers Brothers
Love w/Arthur Lee
The Byrds
The Dead
Creedence
10 Years After
Santana
Moby Grape
Quicksilver
The Airplane
Jethro Tull
Chicago
Procol Harum
Robin Trower
Traffic
Lee Michaels
AC/DC (For Those About To Rock)
ZZ Top
Steve Miller
Missed Zeppelin when Plant got in the car wreck.
Canned Heat
Albert King
Son House
Buddy Guy
Taj Mahal
I'm sure there's a lot I've forgotten and so many that I didn't see.
Cool that you liked those concerts, but after you mentioned the Prince aftershow concert I thought nothing could ever come close. Lucky you:)
I love dinosaurs!!!
NOT THE MAMA😂
05:42 Cool to know that Mic Jagger probably STILL runs all over the stage even now, at his age. Talk about goals...
I got really good tickets to S&M2 through the company I work for. Incredible performance I will never forget.
First one was Motorhead in edinburgh, the best one was the Priest comeback show at the london astoria in 98 with tim owens in place of halford, the live album whilst good dosent even capture half of it!.
