    Wow! This was the most amazing of your videos yet with regards to the landscape and the challenges you face. I'm absolutely astonished. Congratulations!
    It almost brought tears to my eyes when you were visited in the caravanserai by the kind men who, after stopping to give you water during the hot day, came back to bring you food in the evening. I see so many examples of such kindness in Iran. Though I live in Germany, my life is filled with worry about the political situation in the U.S. and the deep divisions between the supporters of the competing political parties. With these deep divisions bombarding me throughout every day, it's no wonder that, on seeing the extreme kindness and hospitality of the Iranian people, my heart yearns for such a culture of love and compassion for your fellow man to spread throughout my home country and the world.
    Thanks for your beautiful and wonderful videos. Safe travels.

      متاسفانه حکومت جمهوری اسلامی ایران اصلا نماینده خوبی برای مردم ایران نیست و نمایانگر فرهنگ و تاریخ ایران نیست.

      Dear Dan,
      thank you so much! Yes, cycling through that desert was a very special experience for us. The man who brought us water and food to the caravanserai is operating an excavator in the desert. He was the only car to pass us in that day.
      As you might have guessed, we are both political persons, following the news all the time. We are also concerned about the situation in the USA, but with the recent developments we are more optimistic than we’ve been for quite a while.
      Unfortunately Iran is just as divided than probably pretty much every country in the world. The difference probably is, that while traveling off the beaten path, people’s hospitality and curiosity do not leave room for political disagreements, especially when there is a language barrier as well.
      We’ve been hosted by random people, who clearly stand at opposite positions on most matters. What we learned through this is, that at their heart, most people want to do good. They just look at the world from a very different point of view.

    How you guys didn't get heat stroke in that 53°C heat is beyond me. I have to peel of my shirt here in Canada in 26°C temperatures. Stay safe and don't break down (your bikes, that is). And thank you for your videos--I would never have seen that part of the world, ever.

    • @AmazingWorldBikeTour
      @AmazingWorldBikeTour  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think we’ve been at the brink of heat stroke there. However, that 53 was measured in the sun and it was an extremely dry heat, which is more tolerable than what was next for us 😅🔥

    • @RossPacino
      @RossPacino 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As they already pointed out, dry heat is more tolerable than heat that is also humid. Your sweat gets evaporated in dry heat and cools your body down to an extent, but in humid weather you don’t even have that.

    • @MrJx4000
      @MrJx4000 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AmazingWorldBikeTour, yeah I kind'a figured 53 was in the sun but even in the 40s, that's way too hot and dangerous to be doing that. Just make sure you have some electrolyte tablets and get your bikes checked out when you can, especially the freehubs.

    another tip of the day : take some vegtables with " cold nature" instead of water with you! water melon, cucambers and melons. mix your water with a product named " sekanjjabin" ( a mixture of honey, vineger and mint) its cheap! you can find it in any shops and markets in iran. it refreshs your body and keeps your strenght up! love you guys ♥

    The hospitality can be quite overwhelming at times, but it is due to a genuine feeling of joy and happiness to meet in person, peoples from all over the World, especially those who have the strength of character and will and not to succumb to the constant vitriol against Iran and notwithstanding, decided to come and visit our country. Godspeed to you on your journeys. I have a request to Arev - please study the history of how the Armenian township of Julfa came into being as a sanctuary, and the history of Armenians in Iran and the high ranks they reached in the kingdom. All the World's peoples are welcome, who do not wish our people or our culture ill will. God be with you. Keep safe.

    Thanks for another amazing instalment! It must have been tough stopping to set up shots in the middle of that incredible desert heat -- it was absolutely worth it though. And being alone at night in the desert with the stars in the silence is a beautiful experience.
    I got a kick out of seeing how much Arev loved those power lines. In fairness, they *were* spectacular power lines.
    Thank you for bringing back more happy memories of travelling in Iran for me, particularly the wonderful cities of Isfahan and Yazd.

    In my experience, in heat like that, drinking water alone isn’t as helpful as u might think. The lack of electrolytes can’t be fixed with water alone, you need something to replenish it, in Iran we use different things, but the cheapest ones are mixing ginger roots or watermelon chunks or watermelon juice with the water.

    Love your videos and amazing story... I have been riding my bike a lot more and what kind of bicycle seat do you guys have and what are your top 10 tips to not have saddle sores or hurt butt riding bicycle for a very long time....?????

    • @AmazingWorldBikeTour
      @AmazingWorldBikeTour  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. We both use Brooks B17 Saddles, Arev has the woman version, which is shorter. We're no experts and Mathias suffered from saddle sores for some time.
      We feel that padded cycling shorts do not work for us. We think it is paramount to have an ideal riding position, and every millimetre or degree of change can make a difference when it comes to saddle and handlebar position. We also think it is very important to try and keep the butt as dry and clean as possible and to vary your riding position throughout the day. We think Vaseline can help protect the skin on the critical areas. We made good experience with Sudocreme as well, especially when the skin is already suffering.
      That being said, we only had trouble with saddle sore in extremely hot and humid climates. Maybe that is because we have to make many pauses for editing our videos, as we ride only about 50% of our time. Hope that helps.

    How many miles was silk road?

    • @AmazingWorldBikeTour
      @AmazingWorldBikeTour  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Ancient Silk Road, a network of trade routes that connected the East and West, stretched over approximately 6,400 kilometers (4,000 miles). This route extended from the city of Xi'an in China, through Central Asia, and all the way to the Mediterranean Sea, touching regions that are now part of modern-day Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and beyond.
      The Silk Road was not a single road but rather a collection of interconnected trade routes, including both overland paths and maritime routes. These routes facilitated not only the exchange of goods such as silk, spices, and precious metals but also the exchange of cultures, ideas, and technologies.

      @@AmazingWorldBikeTour I see average temps for July in Yazd are actually a couple of degrees hotter in July than in August so congrats on making it through. The sun just about did me in.
      I'm pretty sure I followed the same road as I think I recognise the caravanserai but by then my brain had liquified with the heat. Some locals invited us for tea there (I know I don't need to tell you about Persian hospitality) although where they lived was a mystery because the area is absolutely barren. Over tea the oldest man, and thus the most senior, began to speak for the best part of five minutes. There was then a two-minute silence, which would make many Westerners feel uncomfortable, and then the next senior spoke at length, presumably by way of reply. This went on for half an hour. The youngest guy said nothing, his task, I suppose, being to learn from the wisdom of his elders. The whole conversation showed great mutual respect and was a million miles removed from the cut and thrust of discourse here in the West, and had a lasting effect on me.
