To you both tough guys This video has brought so many memories back to me of the Moroccan Sahara when I wandered there with my wife back in 1970 as two rather young and naive backpackers. Your filming and narrative as always conjures up the real experience you are going through. Certainly no hiding away from nature’s brutal landscape . Such compelling viewing. That looked hard going! I've occassionally got sandblasted walking along the beach but experiencing it out in the middle of a desert must be quite scary. Well done both of you!
Wow, this video kept me glued to my screen. That was more than I would've endured, and in fact, I wouldn't even try that crossing in 4WD vehicle or on a motorcycle. Also, I'm glad to see that you helped out those two kids at the very beginning.
Absolutely insane, that must have been tough beyond belief! Think that’s why somebody decided to invent trains and put dining cars on them, now that is the kind of holiday you surely have both earned after that lot!

I always forget how challenging nature can be until it unfolds before your eyes. So difficult but beautiful at the same time. Impressive you both got through this with a positive attitude.
Tough riding indeed! I have been in the desert in Australia but we have a bit more vegetation adapted to grow in our deserts. I have also been in sandstorms, including one that really was a wall of sand. One thing, sand in tents. This is one reason why we use solid fabric inner tents. The mesh inners that many people use tend to be a flawed concept - not a double-wall for insulation in the cold, and definitely a bad choice for sand and dust of the dry lands. The wind will just cover your gear inside the tent with sand! Much better to have a closed tent that can be ventilated when you need it in hot conditions, but keep the sand out and warmth in when that is required.
I had to laugh when you said "this is really hardcore," Maudi. As if what you were doing before wasn't already hardcore. :) Loved the shot of you both at the end, smiling, happy to have overcome the challenge. That's what it's all about. Amazing video. Many thanks!

Awesome you two are making bikepacking videos worth watching when so many these days are just not worth watching. You're on a real adventure not just flying all over the world. You know, of all the different imperfect ways to attach bottle cages, I think the most durable way of all is actually properly applied electrical tape.

Very thankful for your videos... I am from the Canaries and I have been 3 times in Morocco... And now desperate to come back... All the times driving vehicles but not walking or on bycicles, what you do is really amazing... On 2018 I went from Tagounite, north of M'hamid around 30 Kms, to Erg Chegaga, and also we were caught in a sandstorm... Driving a Land Rover Defender is not hard, one of my friends were riding an enduro bike and was totally different we survived... 😉 Also comment these storms usually are the culprit of the sirocos or calimas (as we call it here) we suffer in the Canary Islands. Keep up the good work guys and enjoy the country... People are awesome there, we have to learn from them, sometimes...!!
What an amazing trip! We did almost the same route as you, from Foum Zguid to M´hamid, six years ago in the opposite direction. I must admit we had no sandstorm and the agent at M´hamid offered us to transport most of our luggage by 4WD on one of the regular supply trips to the desert camp at Erg Chegaga. The hardest stretch for us was the rough stone piste from the Oasis Sacree to Lac Iriki with full luggage. Thank you so much for both of your brilliant videos about one of the most exciting adventures for bicycle travellers.
Ohh great Thomas! What an amazing stretch. I agree that part you mentioned was the roughest part! So incredible rocky and slow. I imagined riding a donkey 😅 Wishing you all the best!!
A little tip that has help me in the desert one is I would always use about 18 inches of thicker shock cord tied in a double over hand knot or a fisherman knot giving a double 8 inch on each of the guy out on top of the tent. This makes a quieter sleep and less stress on the tent. The other one is adding a longer piece of p-cord to the tent pegs this will allow a faster way to attach to grommets and easier to tie with. For the tent pegs in the sand or snow would dig a hole lay them side was to the guide line they are easily found in the morning. I hope this help you if so please share from friends on TH-cam

Beautiful pictures. I experienced a shirrocco in Tiznit. Not 50 meters to see and 35 degrees. I gave up speaking french. Arabic and berber you learn from the people self. But take care. Bandits tried to capture me. True Story. But I never had this sky in the great desert in my life.
