- Welcome Grid Runner to the Damage Output Guide for Dead Cells where I am going to show you how you can maximize the damage output by the 3 stats: Brutality, Tactics, and Survival. I will explain how the scrolls of power work and how the Weapons Quality work to get the most damage output. After that, I will walk you through on my run and as final, I show you the Hand of the King boss fight without taking damage. (SPOILERS)

▸ Scrolls of Power:
- Scroll of Power: (Brutality, Tactics, and Survival)
- Assassin’s Scroll: (Brutality, Tactics)
- Minotaur Scroll: (Brutality, Survival)
- Guardian’s Scroll: (Tactics, Survival)
▸ Locations: (found throughout the levels with a fixed amount of scrolls per level)
- You can also find Extra Scrolls of Power in Challenging Rifts, Behind Timed Doors and in Cursed Chests,
- The Enemies will also sometimes carry a scroll, these enemies will have a yellow star above them,
▸ Weapons Quality:
- So every weapon has a level and they will gain a +25% damage multiplier for every 2 gear levels above gear level 1. You can also upgrade the weapon to a +, ++, S and L variants to increase the damage multiplier as well. Some weapons will give you Damage reduction like the ice bow or ice grenade but the same thing follows here but then with a -5% Damage Recieved.
- Your weapons can also have a passive stat boost that will be added if the weapon is upgraded to the ++ variant or above and the amulet will also give you a stat bonus up to 3 times.

I was hoping you'd talk about the relationship between Scrolls and enemy damage. I read one article warning about the danger of putting too many Scrolls in one stat, that at one point the returns are not only diminishing but detrimental because enemies are getting that much stronger while you're plateauing.
Is that accurate? I'm on 1BC at the moment.
Sounds about right, but the thing is when you go on higher difficulties you kind of have to put everything in one stat because you otherwise will do no damage in the early stages of your run and in this game a good offense is the best defense if you one shot everything you won't get hit most of the time what you have to do on BC4+ but in the later stages of your runs you can put scrolls in your stats what give you the most health bonus to get some more health to tank the enemies damage output so you won't get one-shotted yourself.
I've already beaten the game before watching this video, but I'm not super consistent and I have trouble finding all the scrolls. Certainly super helpful. thx

One question, should I stick to the first item(s) if I find it ultra useful or easy to use? I mean, I have tried it, but the damage output will never be enough to beat the bosses. Along the way, I find new items with much more gear levels and damage output, but I am no familiar with using them. Please help, I am stuck in 1BC and trying to get 2BC.
how does one unlock the passive stat boost on weapons?
Has any one found the best seed level for , cells, stats, and amount of legendary weapons?
Im at 2 BC now and why my damage output is too low? Or because im go to promenade of the condemned? Or i must go to the different route to get the cursed chest? Many people in steam tells about the scrolls, they said scrolls make the boss harder to kill, is that true? Reply please 🙏
yeah it is true in some sence enemies scale with your scroll pick up but one thing is sure to make the game easier is to upgrade the blacksmith in the transistion level after the first boss and the second because then you can get better quality weapons so they deal more damage and this doesn't effect the enemies scaling in the game.

No you still have to go through high peak castle first.
Have you ever considered going to the prison depths and then take it slowly? I managed to get an even amount of scrolls, some times even more. I also don't go to the Stil Village, so that leaves me the Slumbering Sanctuary with 2 cursed chests. Of couse I play on 3 cell difficulty so it gives me more cursed chests. But with this run, the only timed door you need is the one from the Promenade. After that it's happy exploring time.
Thank you for the tip and yeah, you are right going to the Prison Depths, Ossuary, Black Bridge, Slumbering Sanctuary then if you can go the Forgotten Sepulcher you get way more scrolls and you can take it more slowly. But that is one of the harder routes to take in the game but if you already doing it on 3 cell difficulty it would be best to take that route to get you stats the highest level that way so you can beat the game easier.
Actually after the Slumbering Sanctuary it is usually the clock tower route for me since I can't make it in time.
Also, once you hit two stem cell difficulty, you are forced to play this game differently then you're used to. You will have to train yourself to not get hit. The higher you go, the less opportunity to refill those health flasks. Which is why the mutation Alienation comes in handy.
True, if you take it slow clock tower would be better and using the alienation mutation is really helpful ty for the tip!
best is no kill prison, no kill promenade, leave to depths by 4:30, no kill depths leave by 7:30, that way you get the timed door in the next level still. its tight but doable. otherwise if not going to the depths i think sewers id the better route.
how u took items with scrolls on it?
How did you wield 2 Crossb-o-matics? I tried that build in from another video but I could never wield both
in the early days you could use 2 equipments but it is patched

Thank you, Amatsuichi just starting but I am going to make content on the newly games and top releases as well. I am also going to GamesCom in Germany so I will be playing a lot of new games there for inspiration for the content.
What you're doing seems fine, but I think you can get more primary scrolls if you go Prison depths -> Ossuary, and also do Slumbering> Forgotten ... or Slumbering > Clock if you want to hedge a little bit.
Going through each level carefully let's you build up more money and find the bonus levels. Also with primary scrolls, it's not uncommon for me to have 26 or more before the final boss.

in the first patches of the game you could do that but now you can't anymore
Been playing for a few days and have got all the runes and most mutations but can't seem to get to the hand of the king. Just curious is that normal or am I doing terribly lol
Shadow325 you are doing it perfectly reaching the Hand of the King is impossible for most at first.
Hang in there! It took me a couple weeks before I defeated the Hand of the King.
It's takes me 5 days to defeat the hand of the king on mobile

Yes, definitely will there be more games, in September there are going to be new top releases so I will also be making content for those games. I mostly covered everything there is to make about Dead Cells anyway if there is anything you would like to know more about Dead Cells you can always ask.
How can you equip 2 of the same trap?
no you can't any more try using the heavy turret as the second.

Peter Nguyen those are the scrolls for the daily challenge. they will upgrade all stats but they don't appear outside of the daily challenge. (or at least not yet, maybe)
How do I get two of the same skill?
you can't anymore or atleast normally you can activate it in costum mode but then you won't able to get the trophies/achievements

If I have an item that is split 50/50 for example the crusher, does it scale with every green/red i take?
Again, how does weapon scaling work with enemies scaling? Does. Running everything in to brutality mean I get higher equipment earlier?
Enemies will scale with the level you are in and for how high your stats are but as you are picking up scrolls and only focus on one stat this will decrease the health bonus you can get in order to survive that enemies attacks with your scaling. Focussing on one stat will increase your damage out putt but it will sacrifice your health bonus if you don't upgrade the other stats.
As for the 50/50 items, the highest relevant stat counts towards the scaling.

I had a cursed sword that did almost 400k DPS and I destroyed stem cell 3
Dubstep Edgelord Cursed sword does some serious damage beat the game on stem cell 4 with it everything was just one-shot.
Yea but what mutations did you pick for hotk fight?
Depends on what build you are using (Brutality/Tactics/Survival) what helps for more damage or you can pick mutations that help you survive the fight like Emergency Triage, Dead Inside, Ygdar Orus Li Ox and Disengagement.

Do you know any ways of grinding cells
I would say open up every timed door to the stilt village and beat enemies along the way, after the timed door in the stilt village take it slow and farm every enemy in the further levels for cells and then repeat.
Wagner Nogueira Yes if you are fast enough you can get all the timed doors until after the keeper and then use the cells to upgrade the Legendary forge or to unlock items at the collector, then repeat the progress, but you will get more cells if you have more then 3 boss cells active then you will get a cell multiplier so taking all the enemies out within every level will get you more.
How do you get the ++ gear??
After you beat the first and second boss you get to the pre-level and you find the blacksmith you need to level up the + gear bar first what will let you find items + within the game up to 100% drop chance what cost 1000 cells then you can upgrade the ++ gear bar what cost 3000 cells up to 60% drop chance and after you can upgrade the S Gear bar what cost 8000 cells up to 30% drop chance.
If you have a + gear you can upgrade it to ++ gear by the mini blacksmith.

You didn’t talk at all about the risk of using too many scrolls and overpowering enemies.
+please subscribe dad yes that is true, but what I talk about in the vid is about how you can get the highest damage output and yes I could have covered that the more scrolls you have the enemies will also scale with the number of scrolls you pick up although I am not saying you have to just maximize one stat, you are free to level up other stats to get the health bonus so you can survive the enemies more. But the more damage you do the more you can one-shot enemies so they have no chance of damaging you. As for the bosses, the Hand of the King will be a problem but the others bosses won't be a real problem but you are free to level up any stat you want.
GamesGridNetwork but there’s also a huge risk in accumulating too many scrolls. The final boss can start one hit killing you if you put all your stats in one category and stop getting health boosts.
GamesGridNetwork this is the one detail in the game I wish I knew more about, it’s what brought me to this vid. I thought more people would have thoughts on it besides Rock Paper Shotgun.
please subscribe dad I get your point but it is hard to explain what the exact % the enemies will scale with and how much their damage will do to you. the easy way to explain is like you said before the enemies will scale with the amount of scroll pick up throughout the game + what level you are currently in because that determines the enemies tier level on that level.
but when you are playing the game on boss stem cells especially 3 and 4 you are kinda forced not to get hit in order to even beat the game so you want to get the highest damage possible for those enemies on that difficulty but as for the scaling, of course, you can level up your stats for health so you will survive some damage of the enemies and having reduced damage items will help a lot when you are leveling up one stat for damage.
GamesGridNetwork well I appreciate the responses and I am going to try the all purple method. Ideally I guess it would involve a colorless melee weapon.
step 1: get lvl1 blood sword
step 2: kill skeletor
Synergy Damage truly trumps any Scroll Stat setup
Having +X% Damaged stacked on a single status effect at higher cell difficulty melts anything...
Just RNG but I had a glass cannon Build with a +300% and a +100% Burning target with a Legendary and was able to 2 Cycle the Hand...
Scroll stats just gives a 15% increase per scroll...
If you are very good at dodging going full Glass Cannon with a Cursed Sword Build is a thing of Beauty
Gamemaniac 85 playing it on 4 boss cells you basically don't have to get hit at all to even reach it to the end so putting everything on damage is you best bet to destroy enemies and bosses before they even can do anything.
@@GamesGridNetwork not disagreeing at all...Weapons that gain +% damage is better than the +15% from a scroll...a build with no synergy even with 30 scroll stats will not do as much damage as synergy build...Of course getting a best build is stacking stats and Rerolling attributes to gel.
for new players who needs help with up to 2 cells
Gamemaniac 85 if you are new you can better optimize with the scrolls but definitely having better quality weapons helps out a ton and you won't get let's say a penalty, optimizing it to one stat to 20 is best then just get the other stats to get the health up.
@@tonytom5242 It's multiplicative. You can easily get 1000% damage with scrolls. That's nothing to scoff at.
Now do all of that in a single run without splits.
