Why? Smashbox is high end
Do have to say the only true love with Smashbox is their Hydrating Foundation so I was like they probably did a good job on this. I was half hoping i was wrong because of all the new foundations coming out
It was the first thought I had yesterday, when I received her "tease" video... thought Smashbox for some reason.. But, then thought, why? She has probably already tried that one. And then here we are today..
I feel like smashbox is such an underrated brand and finally somebody is giving it some spotlight
Yes! Smashbox is the only brand that doesn’t break out my skin and doesn’t look wrecked after a long day and humid Kansas weather.
I love the original hydrating foundation, and was interested in the new one, but most of the reviews on Sephora are negative :(
I find alot of their products super powdery or they just aren't good. They have a few good things though

It literally drew the life out of my normal skin type face. My skin ACTUALLY HURT from all the moisture that was being drawn out. All the Fix + in the world would not help. My pores looked huge and it actually accentuated dry patches I didn't know were there.
Desperately trying to think of ways to make it work and not throw in in the bin, I took a drop or two of The Ordinary's Rosehip oil and mixed it in with a bit of the foundation. Result: amazing skin. This mix has become my favourite base of all time. Definitely try it!!!!

H W I don’t pay attention to TH-cam, CLEARLY, but if I remember correctly only like 1 or 2 of the people I ever helped brought it back. I’m my area ppl love matte, full coverage, and dry tho.

Tati is probably never going to do that , because a while back when she talked about ingredients a lot in a few videos in a row, everybody got butthurt. They were complaining like no other that she doesn’t have the right background to comment on ingredients. She stopped doing it as much right after that, so I’m sure that was at least part of the reason why.
Came here to suggest Kenna as well! After her Jaclyn Hill videos she started talking more about makeup ingredients and the good and bad. She's awesome

i can never really see how good the foundation is when u try it bc in camera they all look super similar, but i can actually tell how good this one is. you look unreal. your skin is completely smooth. i dont even wear makeup much anymore and i want to buy this
We need more foundations for dry skin that actually lasts.
I agree... lately I have been setting my primer with the Maybelline setting powder that is for dry skin. I have never ever use powder on my face before because it's so dry. And my Foundation is staying on a lot longer by setting my primer just a little bit see tiny bit of powder and a little tiny bit of powder on top of my Foundation. It's been working really good with the Maybelline setting powder

The alcohol in the setting sprays helps draw the moisture out of the face products which helps it stay put.

I'd combine setting sprays if something would dry me out like spray hydrating mist after
@@20PINKluvr for me, I like to use a hydrating spray throughout the process (especially after powders) then just use long wear spray at the very end
I have this foundation, i have a hard time blending it, it dries down super quick. I used it with a real techniques blender and the NYX Angel Veil primer under. Aside from that, its amazing and truly does last all day, a little goes a longgg way. The coverage is amazing. Its also hard to match my color but this brand is one of the few that has my exact shade. You dont really need a setting powder, ive tested the longevity of the foundation with and without and its about the same ( i have combo skin)
I had such a hard time blending it out I was wondering how it was so easy for her. I might even go return it
I know it may sound gross but have you tried using your fingers..they will help to warm the foundation..I used to wear the Estée Lauder Double Wear Camo foundation that ive hears this is very similar to, that was for covering tattoos and scarring and it always looked better when I used my fingers and worked quickly !

What I love about Tati is how she really breaks down the chemistry of the products. Instead of just being like “hey look makeup let’s just put it on and be done with it” she really goes into detail about what’s in the products and how they might affect different skin types. She’s not just here to entertain she’s here to help.

Smashbox really doesn’t get enough hype for their complexion products! The studio skin foundation is AMAZING. Hydrating but matte natural finish, and wears forever without settling into lines!
Jules Harding...AND it stays true to color in photos. AND the shade range is fantastic. This brand has definitely mastered foundations !!!
I apply it with my fingers and it blends really well. Hands down the BEST foundation for oily skin EVER!

Smashbox studio skin foundation is the best ,and long lasting , the best! And hydrating , no need to touch up, when smashbox says long lasting it is.

Honeypie Smith I have dry skin and I use the kiehls ultra facial cream underneath it and it looks beautiful on my skin :) it's not glowy by any means but its not too matte either! very natural looking

For anyone wondering about what her contour is, it’s the Maybelline Super Stay Multi-Use Foundation Stick. In Warm Coconut for the face and Mocha for the lips.

I just want to thank you for this video! My brother is getting married on Sept 14th and I've been struggling to find a foundation I actually like for the big day. I've tested out several and really wasn't sold on any of them. After this video, I went to try the smashbox foundation. WOW! I love it. The finish is beautiful, it goes on easily, wears well, and the major bit? My super oily T-zone doesn't shine like the sun after only an hour! This foundation did wonders for both my dry areas and oily areas. So thank you Tati. Truly. I was stressing over this for weeks and now I feel like I can finally breathe knowing I'll have a foundation I can trust on the big day, all day long!!

MeiMochi is it sweat proof or easy to touch up?? Trying to find a great foundation for Disneyland days.
@@MikaylaVK it is pretty much sweat proof. The air conditioning in my work broke so I've been wearing this. It didn't slide or move around my face. I have to touch up after around 5 to 6 hours. I just used a pressed powder and it still looked like really smooth. The only thing is when you apply it, you have to blend it into the skin pretty quick. It dries down faster than other matte foundation. Other than that, it is amazing!

If you look at the ingredients, this one is nearly identical to Estee Lauder's Double Wear Maximum Cover Camouflage (except the Estee is 6 bucks more and has SPF15). I think it's funny because EL owns Smashbox....

Ok thank you SO SO much for addressing the urban decay all nighter has alcohol because every single time I used it my skin felt awkwardly tight, tacky and uncomfortable. My best friend however never felt that but she has combo and I have very very VERY dry skin.

Ok so I saw this review and I absolutely LOVE Tati and know that her recommendations cannot be bought so I knew I had to try this foundation when my Lancome one ran out. Meanwhile my Ispy bag arrived yesterday and it happened to have this EXACT foundation in it!! I had also already bought the primer so I tried the combo together and I am now so excited to begin wearing this together!! ❤ you Tati!! Thanks for being an honest person with fantastic reviews!!

I think a good dupe for this is the Maybelline 24 hr superstay foundation. It survives 120 degrees here in Iraq so I think nothing can beat that
When you know it can survive 115 and higher degrees is good but depending not everyone likes that fragrance paint smell like you get to paint someone's house🤢

Madame Coloratura my skin breaks out super easily but this foundation in particular does not break me out because I use like a half pump and it covers my whole face

Tati, I have just ordered Halo Kiwi 🥝. For the past 2 years my skin has turned ultra sensitive, dry patches under the eyes an mouth. Have to change completely skin care regime, lots of testing and waste money on skin products claiming “ for sensitive skin. Now I have just realized my daily cleanser was the causes for my facial dermatitis. I just want that healthy glow and texture without all the serums and exfoliating to my skin. I don’t wear heavy makeup. Wish me luck
