Hi Guys! In this video we have a complete disaster house situation from water being broken. I am putting this house back together in this video and mostly cleaning and tyding up downstairs area which is the kitchen and the living room. I hope this will bring you plenty of cleaning motivation and help you get productive!

Just a FYI. A dishwasher is supposed to be screwed to the countertop and sometimes the sides of your cabinet depending on the dishwasher. This is why it keeps tilting forward. Be sure the new one gets screwed in or you will have the same issue.

None of my dishwashers has ever been screwed to anything .. much easier if in need of repair . We never had any problem ...and I know plenty of people who also just pushed the dishwasher into place .
Never had a dishwasher that wasn’t secured to the counter.

I like the Lysol hydrogen peroxide spray cleaner, smells so good! And I get Spic n Span spray from Dollar Tree.

Congrats to your hubby!! That was a huge undertaking and an expensive one if you had the plumber fix it. The mess in your kitchen and living room was well worth it to save that much.
I am in love with your forever home and you are right, nothing is what you expect or want. I have friends who bought a brand new home and at first rainfall, discovered they had numerous leaks in the roof.

I love tvs over fire place as the rooms look less cluttered and then just greenery and candles on the mantle. Nice house 😊
The problem with having a television over the fireplace is that the TV isn't at the right height for comfortable viewing (and it eliminates options for mantel decor). The viewer shouldn't have to angle his head but should be able to look straight ahead at the middle of the screen. If mounting a TV above a fireplace is the goal, though. I recommend TVs that function as artwork when not in use, such as The Frame by Samsung.
You can always hang up your tv over the fireplace and decorate the mantle for what ever season we are in. Love the cleaning motivation

We have a large mirror over our fireplace with some frames pictures. I usually put seasonal decoration pieces ( flowers or candle arrangements, pumpkins for Thanksgiving, Christmas village, etc). My friend has a gorgeour large clock over theirs. Pictures work well too

I like the Puracy surface disinfectant (if you don’t mind vinegar temporary scent that dissipates quickly). It’s safe for good contact areas & you can even use it on fruits & vegetables.

I love the Mrs Meyers AP cleaner. I don’t like the hand soaps either, so you’re not alone. My favorite is the Peony scent and I have it in the AP and countertop cleaner.

My second pick is Better Life All Purpose. Idk if the bottle still says it but basically said “don’t drink, but if you did it wouldn’t hurt” bc it was all natural. I like that one especially for pet areas bc I don’t worry about them getting sick walking on it & licking their paws.

I enjoyed watching this video, it’s very realistic. I think if you hang a big painting on the wall above the fireplace and put a vase this artificial greenery on the mantle, it would look great.

For the kitchen towel solution try buying one that hangs and is secured by a button.
Hi Jenia, What a great video. FYI, here is my recipe for all purpose cleaner. I want all purpose and organic so I make my own with 4 cups of Water, 1/2 cup baking soda, 3 drops of lemon essential oil and 3 drops of spearmint oil .Put all in an old spray bottle. I use DoTerra oils since they are organic and you do not need alot of drops as it is strong. Such great products. My husband hates the vinegar smell so I must use the baking soda. I guess husbands are funny like your husband hides your pregnancy pillow in the garage. Too funny....Regarding the fire place, we have our TV for us but many do large pictures like maybe find one of Russia so the kids know their heritage. That would be lovely with candles on each side. You are such a great mom. Love you hand washing the floors, I love doing that too. It feels so clean though I do love my mom bucket too. I loved watching your sweet kitty climbing on to her favorite pillow after its been cleaned. So so sweet. I have a cat too. I love her so much. So thankful you have running water now and that hubs fixed it. Hope he is ok from the ant bite. What a great hubs you have.
Way to go fixing the pipe! You could put a mirror up there. I put holiday stuff on my mantle depending on the time of the year. This summer i did lemon decor for summer.
I’m obsessed with JAWS. That multipurpose cleaner smells so good it’s my favorite but the kitchen cleaner is awesome also for the stovetop!

I think making the fireplace wall the focal point with some wood trim pieces, painting it a darker accent color and updating the mantle will change the dynamic of the room and spruce it up! 😀
I like the Ecos all purpose cleaner. It smells like herbs and the scent lingers for awhile after cleaning. Makes it seem so fresh and clean

I have a big mirror on my fireplace mantle & I put a frame that holds multiple family pics in front w vases & florals & candle sticks. I change it out with seasonal florals...

I use the mildest scented dish soap I can find mixed with vinegar and water because I am very sensitive to fragrance. Some of your camera angles are a little dizzying like when you put the dishes away, nothing I cant handle. Wonderful video, Thanks

My fav all purpose cleaner is anything that smells good, affordable and sanitizes. Currently loving OdoBan, even my kids love using it.
Makes sense. I love Odoban too! I made a tiny bottle for air freshening , because it smells just so incredible to me and I normally use it in the bathrooms, and where my kitty litter is.

Clorox cleaner,bleach and laundry detergent mix for floors and counter tops,I use that to clean my bathroom also,but I spray on bleach and let it sit,like in the shower,then Ajax to scrub, and if black around the shower,spray down with bleach,or wash the inner shower curtain bleach mixture.
Then after I clean everything with that I wipe it all down again with clean paper towels maybe with some glass cleaner on the counter and on the fridge.
For wood & my electronics (not my TV) I use 3 parts lemon from a bottle to one part oil any cooking oil. Works perfect & repels dust. Wipe it in like pledge with no chemicals. For glass i mix a couple drops of Dawn vinegar & water,no streaks.
For above your fireplace, I think a huge family photo in a beautiful wooden frame would be beautiful. Or you could go to the craft store and buy a nice huge fall wreath and just change it out with the seasons. But in my vision, I see a big huge beautifully framed mirror. Hobby lobby and even Walmart has amazing options. But hobby lobby has the most options. And maybe on either side of the mirror, I saw on Amazon battery powered LED lights you can buy that look like they hang from the wall. But the back has those really sticky command wall sticker mounts. So they can be easily removed. And to turn them on it comes with a remote. Or they have a little button you just push. The batteries last for months and then you change them. Also, a string of fall leaves with battery powered fairy lights on them would be pretty with the leaves. And the lights would reflect in the mirror and look so aesthetically pleasing. Or another idea for the mantle would be a few glass pieces with the fairy lights. I have alot of ideas for you lol! I love your cat. She's so pretty. I'm a crazy cat person. I have 4. Isn't it funny when they see a soft blanket or pillow they just have to take a nap on it? So cute♥️
I have the same kind of cat you have. Russian blue cat. I always use pure soap for many things because I have asthma. I wash dishes with it. Clean counter top etc...
Hello again Jenia, i say it's not homeownership if you dont' have to fix stuff. good for your hubs learning how to fix the plumbing himself. that is awesome and I don't blame you if the quote was 7k that is outrageous. Also, I don't know if you have a home warranty but ours has come in clutch we had to have our water heater replaced and that was large expense and they covered it, and our hvac died and they replaced it it was 5k but cost us 500 out of pocket. Also, for your kitty, my mom used to put her cat's food and water on top of the dryer. they seemed to like it fine there if that helps. Because that is one of those out of the way areas. Also for your floors if you can get it like on a black friday sale, I recommend the bissel crosswave, it vaccuums and scrubs the floor. I love that thing. It comes in so clutch. and i love how much your kitty loves that pillow. too cute.
Large mirror over the fireplace to replace an enlarged photograph of the English coastline which faded after 20 years. Mirrors are relatively inexpensive until you find some art you like but make sure to get the biggest mirror, preferably with a black frame which you can find as that makes a statement. Add a few pillar candles and a silk plant and you're done for now. I don't have a favourite all purpose cleaner spray but I use Barkeeper's Friend powder cleaner for all stainless steel. Your videos are excellent!

We have 4 cats and a large dog, so I use a lot of cleaners. I have found I like the scents of the Everspring line from Target. The cleaners, hand soap and dish soap are great but I am not a fan of laundry soap. I add a couple tablespoons of citric acid to my multipurpose cleaner to give it the disinfectant. For your fireplace, I hung a well loved picture above ours and decorated the mantle with my loved pieces of decor. We moved 11 months ago and I decluttered everything I did not love or use, I left with one small bin of extra decor pieces I can change out. Everything I kept can be used as decor in any room of our home as I don’t have ‘themes’…if that makes sense. I don’t know what my decor style is but I love the things we have displayed and it is comfortable and cozy for us, and that is the only things that count! Take your time Jenia and use what you love or find things that bring you joy. It takes time to transition a house into a home❤️

I have some things in mind, but being an amateur to decor I get sceptical on trying them, especially that I like DYI ing, and with decor it might end up looking a bit cheap. But I'll go ahead and experiment. It is JUST decor! 😊

if you like the dish soap with some essential oils....just add some vinegar to it......the essential oils can help with the vinegar smell, but if there is still some smell to it, it goes away after a few mins but will help cut through the dirt and grease better :) as for me, i just use a diluted cleaner like lysol or pinesol (the orange is my fav) in a spray bottle with water......you only need a capful or two for the whole spray bottle, but i'm not too worried about some chemicals because my kiddies are all older now and do not crawl or play all around the floors etc.
and above the fireplace, you could start a family wall with pictures of your family, and the mantle can be decorated by season, and yes candles are good for all seasons lol
I like 7th generation all-purpose cleaner. I also use vinegar/water mixture for a very inexpensive cleaner that works.
Mrs. Meyers APC is my favorite and it works the best.

A beautiful large piece of art would be nice over the fireplace. I get my art from Great Big Canvas. They have such a huge variety to choose from. Anything that you like, they will have so many choices. Then you can add under the art piece what ever you like. This is my first time watching your video and I'm enjoying it. 💙💚💛💜❤

If you aren’t sure what to put above fireplace try a large horizontal picture. Or large mirror.

My favorite cleaner is Method {all of them} I also like Mrs, Myers fall scents. Another good cleaner is The Pink Stuff, it doesn't smell very good, but it cleans stubborn stains and grease. I also use Jaws cleaners, they are good too.
Yes, I love the pink stuff too. I just got my Mrs Myers cream cleaner and I am obsessed!! I don't enjoy their soap, but they definitely didi the best job on this soda cleaner!!

I'm glad your husband was able to fix it but plumbing issues are major issues so sometimes they should be make or break in some instances because the previous owners likely had issues or poor maintenance and they likely had water damage or leaks at some point.
What did you say was your favorite smelling all purpose cleaner? I have hearing loss and had trouble understanding.

As a professional house cleaner pls,pls dont clean floors on your knees ( I know its easier and you see every stain) but for me doing it for years you get stained(brown) knees from friction that sadly doesn't go away I cant wear shorts or short dresses 😥 I know use a garden foam thingy lol you can get at the dollar store

Dollar store has a huge variety of cleaners. They are awesome!
JAWS stands for "Just Add Water System." JAWS has an array of colored cleaners for different uses. They make a very nice rainbow display in your under-the-sink cabinet!

My favorite all purpose cleaner is water with a bit of dish soap and some apple cider vinegar.
I learn new stuff every day. I did not know that you could also use apple cider vinegar in cleaning, I assumed only white vinegar. So good to know! Thanks Lina!
