There’s nothing wrong with the concept but these should be 50k-70k not 160k for a 1/4th of a house.
I agree 100% that makes sense, not $400 or $500 a square foot
Exactly. But the second something becomes popular ppl get yanked on the price.
160k...... Crooks are selling these.
By world standard, the price is appealing.

The upsetting thing is developers hate building these things they would rather build high cost apartments so people don't own anything
@Bert439 - Yet, the reality is, a developer has gone & built a tiny home subdivion & from the sound of things, there's enough demand to justify it :^)
Not so people don’t own anything. It has to do with sustainability, the total linear footage of exterior wall, the amount of plumbing/hvac/electrical, code for apartments verses RV or single family, zoning, and shared amenity space. There are pros and cons to both.
A good for home young couples having small compact cars. This makes more financial sense to me 😊 than buying big one when your starting out.
This is sad because the whole concept of tiny homes is to reduce costs due to expensive living and how expensive homes and rent are these days, whereas there are companies creating neighborhoods and charging the same price as condos are just going to profit and make life harder for struggling individuals. Houses are crammed together, the loft only being accessible by ladder is a poor design.
Why keep em and you as slaves (because youre forced to).

I give it $15K tops. What a joke for 60 square metres.
@@lachlansmith2212 exactly 💯. But these companies and people always got to find a way to over price things to new heights
People cannot afford a standard three bedroom house because of inflation/interest rates so the bankers have now found a way to charge $167,000 for a structure that costs $25,000 to make. Nice job Black Rock.
Rip off
Greed is rampant.
They keep inventing new ways to steal from us.
The problem is it doesn’t cost $25,000 to build… 10 years ago you could frame it out and pour the concrete for $25k but cost of materials and labor is so high right now that’s only overpriced by about $50k lol
What a bunch of scumbags these investors!
For a single person, such as widowed, divorced or a young professional, this is actually a very good option. Small and easy to maintain. However, over $100,000... I smell greed.

Welcome to America, where greed reigns supreme.
There's insufficient parking 1)only 1 vehicle per driveway 2) NO street parking, because if you park along the curb, you either partially block your own driveway or your neighbours. 3) as the houses and driveways are so close together, the curb parking has disappeared

This is nothing more than a flagrant display of pure corporate greed. At a starting price of $133,000.00 for only 350 square feet that's $380.00 a square foot not including the interest on the loan. Why would anyone agree to that? And the resale on these cheap bastards won't be anywhere near that. This is a horrible indication of where America is truly headed.

We're leaving Texas next month. That tiny home neighborhood will be called little mexico soon enough.
How odd. At that point wouldn't it make more sense to make condos? I get having a house is "the American dream" but these things are just strange. It would have to be more cost-effective to build multi-unit housing.
First, you are not likely to find a condo for $126k anywhere worth living. And second, with a condo you have common walls, no yard. Is this ideal? No, but for a young single person who wants to get out of an apartment, they can buy this very cheaply, live there for a couple of years, hopefully gain some equity and then move up. Given where the real estate market is today, I think its a great idea. If I were younger I would think about buying 3 or 4 of them and renting them out.
@@klstrat996 yeah you and I both want that but you just admitted they'd make more money for less with condos.
People don't want to share walls with people. Plus with a little yard it looks nice enough.
@@klstrat996 Hopefully the whole community doesn't end up as being rentals since I think it would defeat the whole purpose of having affordable houses people can actually buy.

We did this to ourselves and we let it happen to ourselves, whether you like it or not. It all started with The Federal Reserve as most of you know. America (and the world) shifted from a cash-based utilitarian economy to a debt based consumerist economy - and we went along with it. And then the gradual decline and going off the gold standard - and we went along with it. Then came globalization and NAFTA and outsourcing - and we went along with it. Then technology started automating jobs away (part of capitalism's drive to maximize profits); then the internet came along and Big Tech comes along and 'appifies' and 'gigifies' everything, again, to maximize profits and gut the working class - and we are going along with it because of CONVENIENCE . Now artificial intelligence is starting to remove jobs from all types and levels - from blue collar to white collar and unskilled - and yet again, we are going along with it. 'Technological unemployment' is here and things will continue to decline. Neither the government nor big business have any plans to deal with the technologically displaced workers - and they simply cannot 'go get another job' or 'learn a trade' because there will be loss jobs available and many people are not suited for trades, mentally or physically.

Also Thanks Rhonda for being our tour guide, I appreciate that ❤ (whomever you are). What I don't entirely understand is why not go a route of building multi-story condos with a garage and community garden/lawn.
You have to ask yourself the following question. If your only two options are to pay 12 to 1500 a month to rent a two bedroom apartment or pay $1000-$1200 a month to own your own tiny home I think it’s a no-brainer.
Assuming 150k home for 30 year at 8% interest. insurance and property taxes will add aprox extra 500 monthly.
1100 + 500 = 1600$ monthly payment. If people have to choose from 2 bad choices it does not validate or make the less bad choice good.
@@xgearheart8592 of course it does. Assuming your $1600 number to rent or own it’s a no brainer to purchase one of these. You are building equity and your payment is fixed for the most part. If you are renting you are subject to rent increases.
This isn’t why people are upset- it’s the actual cost of this- the mass produced product with bulk save items inside should be effectively sold at $75k max. But they are taking advantage of the economy and banking off their over priced ugly houses. The tiny homes are made by hand with custom features, these small houses are tossed up repeatedly with the same cheap fixtures/ notice they don’t even give you a fridge! The. The price- tiny homes under $60k but these are $190k? For a foundation and 400sq ft lot. That’s the issue… the cost… most will be rentals if there’s no covenants written into the neighborhood and soon it will be worse than an apartment building…
I think this tiny home community is a great idea but def not the price. The price is ridiculous! I’d buy this for $50,000
Double wide mobile homes are $85k without the lot.
The bird houses are ok, lots of homeless would be more than happy to leave there but the price is ridiculous.

@@DrLusEnglish ok we make it illegal for people to build themselves a home smaller than 2,500 Sqft for the American dream.
The second one wasn't bad. If you could build something like that yourself, you could build one for 50,000. We know a man that builds small homes 1 bedroom and 1 bath. They look like little cabins. They have a nice little front porch on them. They are nicer then these. He built one for 25,000. He uses the Amish to build them. He rents them out for like 900 a month. Might be alittle more. Mostly young couples with no children rent them. No welfare cases. They keep the area and homes up nicely.

Finding a parcel, within commuting distance to your job, that you can afford, is the tricky part.
Heres a better idea, buy a tiny house on wheels and buy land and put tiny house on land and hunt and grow food with a ton of freedom. Yikes these homes are a prison cell
I've heard people say land has gone way high too
I felt mildly nauseated watching this. How far we have fallen as a nation that American citizens(?) would degrade themselves with the purchase of such clownishly ridiculous "houses," at such obscene prices. And the the audacity of that company (Lennar) to put a For Sale sign on such crap... wow!
That is just absolutely sad. America has forgotten about their people. This is such a disappointment for our country. I do not blame the younger generation for not being patriotic or lack of respect for their country
Selling for 160,000-170,000 and within 5 years they will be 300,00-500,000. Jeremiah, Matt and Aaron what the Hell is going on!
Yeah, 4 years ago tiny homes were 40 to 65,000
The greed of the Real Estate industry and the federal government that's what...
Capitalism
@@josefj1776 Greedism
They kind of ruined the tiny home thing with this. Tiny home life is fun because of the land you have surrounding your tiny. You’re too close to other people. You have no space to spread out and barely a back yard or a front yard. Negative. Can we get a sliding glass door😩😩 however the 2 story model is livable.
It’s mostly hallway. Hardly livable
They def ruined it
I always knew that the tiny home "trend" would come to a mess like this! Agenda 21.
You can't invite no one to your house lol
@@michaeldalton8374 that’s true. But tinys are known for innovation. It’s workable if one gets creative.
Sooo true and sad we have to rewire our brains to think now that the 4/5 bedroom house with 2 1/2 to 3. Bathrooms is literally a mansion now compared to the small tiny homes.
Thank you for showing us this! That first house was deeply depressing. It is completely non-functional for a variety of buyers, with that LADDER (pregnant women, people who have to carry babies/small children, the elderly, anyone infirm or disabled, etc.). That first one seemed built exclusively for young, single, child-free, able-bodied people).
Not functional for some but functional for others. Giving people more options is good.
like a prison cell, but with a coffee maker.
Tiny homes can have a stairs to the 2nd floor.
Not very well planned out. I would not buy one.
@@cherylschneider6903 It is a good visual of Lennar's slap-dashery.
Absolutely ridiculous. This shouldn’t be a thing 😞
PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN THE TRADES AND BUILD FOR EM SELVES
"houses" this small should be used for the homeless and people going through difficult times. This is the housing marking peeing on the American people and telling them it's raining.
The quality of the material looks so cheap. Texas have hurricanes and tornadoes; a little huff & puff and it’ll all fall down. Seriously, it’s sad when families have to squeeze into these tight spaces just to have a place to call their own.
The concrete slab - properly bolted to it and it should be fine.
@@metalmike570Properly bolt wood to it!? You need a storm shelter bolted to it, not match sticks.
No worse than many full size home developments. I'm sure they are to code. Quality costs more and the builder isn't going to skimp on his profit margin.
These homes are fine for people without children. Put 60 children outside playing on the street and there will be huge problems. Is a play/park area available for the children and pets ? Is there a rule that everyone can only have one vehicle ? Is there a homeowners association with the project to work out solutions ?
The real problem is people are going to pay these prices for this. We need more consumer education.
Builders and banks maximizing profits. Build a shack for $20,000 and sell it for $150,000 plus.
160k for a sardine can with a neibor Nancy and on the other side Karen.
It's not the American dream. It's what we can afford.
I dont understand zoning regulations. Usually they make no sense. The houses footprint is small, so why not go up another story? How much more will the framing cost?
I love how they call a development a "community." They look more like barracks.
more like family holding cells
I am sitting here stunned. Stunned at how far America is falling. 😢
You've never seen a trailer park? They have been around forever.
I can't believe this is Texas. What a decline.
More like downtown Hong Kong.
Come on Jesus Christ) take us out of this nightmare) rapture, rapture, RAPTUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURE
It's simple. When "actual" houses are $400,000-$500,000 then it looks pretty attractive to have a shot at having a place to live at all if It's at least somewhat affordable. Not even like bang for your buck affordable, just something you do technically have the money for.
If these were built to help families that have lost their homes due to the economic crisis, that would be nice.
Should only be 50k max. It is an alternative. Will suit the needs of many for all sorts of reasons.
That is what you pay for the tiny homes on wheels
Shocking! $160,000 for 350 ft.² of house. That’s $457 per square foot. That’s unbelievably high. And the payment is about $1200 a month for the next 30 years. And imagine if you have more than one car, where the hell do you Park it? It’s sad that this will become the new reality for many Americans. We the people, have to rise up and stop this insanity.
Yeah, Lennar is making a killing on these homes. Taking advantage of people who can't afford 200,000 or more for a house now.
Texas is declining with people moving here,it's becoming another New York
Not enough people are willing to stand up. We have too many docile American citizens. WE the people have allowed this to happen.
The price is insane sickening
160,000 American dollars ? 😢 lemme know when y’all start charging to breathe
There are a lot of comments about the price, but actually, with the cost of building materials and labor, $50,000.00 is about the average costs to build one of these.
San Diego you pay $375,000 bad condo - $450.000 good condo and hoa fees and crammed parking-and with mom working who’s gonna clean a typical house ?
Holy cow. I have a double wide, 1100 square feet, on 2 acres.. with a barn that has lights and water...fully fenced with 3 sheds.
I'd be lucky to get $175k for it...160k for 620 square foot shed?
No. Hail no.
My little farm is paid for...
Having land to me is more important than any big house.
I was thinking the same thing. I have a not old single wide, a barn and 3 outbuildings on a lake and I wouldn't get $150k for it. Paid for too. Country living is not for everyone though.
@@barbaramahan364 lol, it will become the only way soon. Cities are too violent. The government will use supply chain food shortages to control the city folk...
If this is Capitalism, then it failed.

It isn’t, it’s called feudalism.
