Tbh i think Sims 3 won this challenge. It had more physics than i thought, sims 2 did have some physics, but sims 4 barely tried. in ts4 they literally blur out the microwave like why?
In the case of TS2, they have an excuse because of the game's age, and it makes up for it by being more detailed in other areas. TS4 has no such excuse LOL
I remember when sims 3 got some critique cause they reused animations from the sims 2 so sims 4 boasted about new original animations.. and then proceeds to recycle them or not do anything altogether (like the laundry machine magically opening itself)
3 definitely won in my book as well. Imagine if they made a restored content mod like they did KoTOR2, how many more subtleties and nuances would we get, things that were shaved off just so the game could run for 10 minutes on the hardware of its time?

watching this realise that just because it is the newer version doesnt mean that it have the best quality, though different versions each have pros and cons
like how in sims 4, youre able to change up the way the sims look. They don’t have that same face syndrome as what the sims do in sims 3. Now, if we had a sims game where 1. You were able to have the customization of sims 4, 2. Had the time and dedication put into the animations as sims 2-3 and had the burglar from the first 3 sims games. That would be awesome! Plus with how project renee is looking, i would want the building mechanics from that. So much attention to detail.
they are not even made by the same developers, so they can get worse, most games get better with new releases but Eletronic arts its know to be a cash grab company its probally not even the developer faults, but they just dont give then enough time and money to do anything. they probally force then to work with very small time or money resources.
TS4 has no soul. All those game packs and stuff packs, and they couldn't even add fun quirks, better textures (the food seriously deserves better textures), and small details that manage to add loads of personality. All you get area sims that never stop smiling and an infinite amount of chairs.
Loved how they improved a lot of the food physics in Sims 3, though we did lose some like the pizza physics and microwave physics, it made up for it with everything else. While I did love the improved mixture physics in Sims 4, I really hated how they blurred out a lot of things just so that they can hide the fact that some things don't have physics. Plus the food textures are vastly inferior to Sims 2 and 3's. Sims 2 is fine for what It is, this is one of those times where it's obvious that it was an older game in the series, plus this is the only game with pizza and microwave physics which were more impressive than what Sims 4 improved on imo. Overall, Sims 3 definitely won this one with Sims 2 in second and Sims 4 in last.

The Sims 3 has the best particle effects hands down! Especially for cooking! I was kind of shocked how few particle effects The Sims 2 had to be honest, I remembered it having more but at least the sound effects are good! It sort of makes up for it lol

Sims 3 wins this round, all because the add in the things that are missing from the Sims 2 and the cooking animations are the same. I just can't with Sims 4 circus performance with food. On the other hand Sims 2 wins in the pizza and microwave round.
I don't actually like the food particles when chopping, spreading, serving, mixing. In real life that would make an awful mess. Only pouring should have an effect and then a rotating animation for mixing.
TS4 may have better salad tossing effects, but TS3 is still the better game. :p Still, it's really interesting to see how effects have changed over time!
Yeah, literally all of the food items looks like they're actually edible, real, vibrant food. TS3 looks too dark and shiny, and TS4 just looks like plastic

Physics in game is the interaction of two objects in which one can affect the other for example wind in clothes or hair, throwing objects, grass moving when a character is passing through and such. I would say most if not all things in sims does not have physics are just animations and effect sprites. The closest of physics in this video is the salad thingy in sims 4, all the rest is just animations and effects.

Physics in a game refer to the flexible reactions of bones and other things to the simulation of physical forces inside a game - forces like Gravity, Wind, etc... The stirring of food in TS3 of your example doesn't show a physical reaction - the developers just chose to animate rotating food, nothing more. The sims games don't have this type of simulation, because it would be way too demanding to handle for the computers of their target audience.

I gotta disagree with you on that, you can post this on a video comparing overall gameplay and it will be fine but this is a video comparing food physics, and it was shown that Sims 3 did a lot of things better (though it didn't have the pizza and microwave physics). Also I always hear about Sims 2 fans talking about the details and how they love them so much yet it's so weird when they reject details that only the later games had, wouldn't people be asking for more details? I don't like how some Sims 2 fans can't stand it when a later game does things better and then they just come up with excuses about things unrelated to the topic of the video. It might be the best in many people's eyes but we shouldn't think of it as a flawless game where everything is perfect. (it's far from that anyways) There will be some flaws but it's fine because sequels are meant to improve on what the earlier games had. They treat it as the absolute Holy Grail of life simulators while deriding everything else as inferior in every way, and it's... really frustrating. The only "inferior" Sims game, in my opinion, is 4. All the others have strong merits. Yes, even the first.

Lol people nowadays praise TS3 so much but forget all the problems it had: - super laggy Gameplay even in high performance PC - community lots empty ( i remember late night and having like 5 sims in a disco) - you couldn' t travel between world, which made very hard to play all the expansion features in one world. - hours to load patterns in buy and create a sim mode. - isla paradiso unplayable. - most animations are worse than Sims 2. - bugs everywhere. The best Sims game was Sims 2, without any doubt. The Sims 3 in theory would be the best but in pratice it was a big mess, and thats the reason why the cut the main features from it in TS4 ( that is also a bad Sims game)

I was always under the impression that particle effects can be taxing on a computer, and if so, that may be why the Sims 2 doesn't have any.

Ehh, I liked Sims 3 the best. For me,, the open world (even with rabbitholes) and the lack of loading screens beats 2
@@helonelunede5217 The Sims 3 is my favorite due to its gameplay depth. There's just a TON of stuff to do, and it takes a long time to exhaust everything, even with just a few packs. I haven't played 2 much though, so maybe I'm drawing the wrong comparison. :p
Lol people nowadays praise TS3 so much but forget all the problems it had:
- super laggy Gameplay even in high performance PC
- community lots empty ( i remember late night and having like 5 sims in a disco)
- you couldn' t travel between world, which made very hard to play all the expansion features in one world.
- hours to load patterns in buy and create a sim mode.
- isla paradiso unplayable.
- most animations are worse than Sims 2.
- bugs everywhere.
The best Sims game was Sims 2, without any doubt. The Sims 3 in theory would be the best but in pratice it was a big mess, and thats the reason why the cut the main features from it in TS4 ( that is also a bad Sims game)

In sims 2 they put most of the focus on pizza - a feature people barely use nowadays. The rest is meh.
