Tbh i think Sims 3 won this challenge. It had more physics than i thought, sims 2 did have some physics, but sims 4 barely tried. in ts4 they literally blur out the microwave like why?
In the case of TS2, they have an excuse because of the game's age, and it makes up for it by being more detailed in other areas. TS4 has no such excuse LOL
I remember when sims 3 got some critique cause they reused animations from the sims 2 so sims 4 boasted about new original animations.. and then proceeds to recycle them or not do anything altogether (like the laundry machine magically opening itself)
Maybe, like steam effect. I have the same with my microwave.
3 definitely won in my book as well. Imagine if they made a restored content mod like they did KoTOR2, how many more subtleties and nuances would we get, things that were shaved off just so the game could run for 10 minutes on the hardware of its time?
@@gyppygirl2021 i know, but people around here love to pump their chest in proud for the game being above It's time, but when it clearly shows the sighs of It's time we don't hear a pip from them now.
Yes, sims 2 had many good things like some details and the cutscenes however it clearly a dated game, a fun and increable game but not revolucionary like many claim.
I feel sims 2 and sims 3 could be perfected with lil mods but sims 4 is a lost case
watching this realise that just because it is the newer version doesnt mean that it have the best quality, though different versions each have pros and cons
like how in sims 4, youre able to change up the way the sims look. They don’t have that same face syndrome as what the sims do in sims 3. Now, if we had a sims game where 1. You were able to have the customization of sims 4, 2. Had the time and dedication put into the animations as sims 2-3 and had the burglar from the first 3 sims games. That would be awesome! Plus with how project renee is looking, i would want the building mechanics from that. So much attention to detail.
Now if only they mash all the good stuff together in 1 game

they are not even made by the same developers, so they can get worse, most games get better with new releases but Eletronic arts its know to be a cash grab company its probally not even the developer faults, but they just dont give then enough time and money to do anything. they probally force then to work with very small time or money resources.
I think the only drink in TS2 that has nicely visible physics is the lemonade in the open for business stand, the liquid does move when they stir it
Same with the juicer from seasons

The Sims 3 has the best particle effects hands down! Especially for cooking! I was kind of shocked how few particle effects The Sims 2 had to be honest, I remembered it having more but at least the sound effects are good! It sort of makes up for it lol

Yeah, literally all of the food items looks like they're actually edible, real, vibrant food. TS3 looks too dark and shiny, and TS4 just looks like plastic
@rinishan TS4 doesn't look like plastic, it looks old, kinda like mush, moldy, even.
I was always under the impression that particle effects can be taxing on a computer, and if so, that may be why the Sims 2 doesn't have any.
Sims 2 food polycount and textures are so good still

I am all in for the pizza in Sims 2, and the microwave spins❣ However, the rest of the food physics goes to Sims 3, even though, I still prefer the look of TS2 food better❣👏👏

The food looks so good in TS2. Could use some particles/rotation somewhere, but honestly, I would still rather eat TS2 than TS3 or TS4 food.
Sims 2 food looks so delicious! Sims 3's don't look as appetizing but they still look delicious. Sims 4 on the other hand... I'm not putting plastic putty in my mouth
Sims 3 wins, but that spreading effect was trash… reminded me of airbrushing in MS Paint.
Never fails to impress me how utterly lifeless the sims 4 is.

So Sims 3 have good food effects but they couldn’t put the pizza slice dissapearing from the box? 🍕
TS4 has no soul. All those game packs and stuff packs, and they couldn't even add fun quirks, better textures (the food seriously deserves better textures), and small details that manage to add loads of personality.
All you get area sims that never stop smiling and an infinite amount of chairs.
Thats why I get back to Sims 3 ❤
2: Made in 2004 for 2005, was considered pioneering and ambitious for its time
3: Made in 2009 for 2017, cut content to have it run on 2010 computers
4: Made in 2014 for 2005 so it can run on mobile
Loved how they improved a lot of the food physics in Sims 3, though we did lose some like the pizza physics and microwave physics, it made up for it with everything else.
While I did love the improved mixture physics in Sims 4, I really hated how they blurred out a lot of things just so that they can hide the fact that some things don't have physics. Plus the food textures are vastly inferior to Sims 2 and 3's.
Sims 2 is fine for what It is, this is one of those times where it's obvious that it was an older game in the series, plus this is the only game with pizza and microwave physics which were more impressive than what Sims 4 improved on imo.
Overall, Sims 3 definitely won this one with Sims 2 in second and Sims 4 in last.
I was personally impressed by the coffee physics in TS3 - an unexpected victory, but as a TS3 fan, I'll take it!
Definitely agree! I love the details and graphics in the sims 3. definitely the most underrated sims game

Sims 3 wins this round, all because the add in the things that are missing from the Sims 2 and the cooking animations are the same. I just can't with Sims 4 circus performance with food.
On the other hand Sims 2 wins in the pizza and microwave round.
Sims 4 uses the lowest textures for food
I’m willing to sacrifice some detail for better game play. Sims4 looks good but it’s shallow. 2 and 3 are much better *games*.

I don't actually like the food particles when chopping, spreading, serving, mixing. In real life that would make an awful mess. Only pouring should have an effect and then a rotating animation for mixing.
The spreading the cold cuts with a knife in the Sims 2 is kind of hilarious
I mean, I still like the Sims 3 and 2 really.
I think all the foods physics resources of the sims 2 went to the pizza haha

EA only does a ton of changes to the game 😅 then maxis did, maybe less 😂😂😂😂😂
TS4 may have better salad tossing effects, but TS3 is still the better game. :p

The Sims 2 doesn't have every effect, but when it does have something it's quite detailed.
TS3 was overall the best. TS2 has great animations but lacks most particle effects. TS4 didn't even try most of the time. It looks and feels like a mobile game.
Sims 4 has less features and runs worse. Baffling

Oh! I thought it was a mesh that was supposed to be used for the vegetable recipes etc, since salad still has this red mesh and it doesn't really make sense..

The editing of this video is well done and you're showing some interesting aspects of these games, but PLEASE, please, please stop calling these things "physics"... This is incorrect! And it drives me insane that people told you this in the comments several times, yet you still keep using the wrong terminology in your videos. These are animations and nothing more! And the "liquid effects" here are called particle effects. It would've been fine if you titled the video as "Food animations."
I don't understand why you insist on using the term physics... Physics in a game refer to the flexible reactions of bones and other things to the simulation of physical forces inside a game - forces like Gravity, Wind, etc... The stirring of food in TS3 of your example doesn't show a physical reaction - the developers just chose to animate rotating food, nothing more. The sims games don't have this type of simulation, because it would be way too demanding to handle for the computers of their target audience.
I dont like how Sims 4 prepare food like a cartoon animations, well Ik Sims 4 also cartoon graphic so it suppose to cartoon style gameplay

I been playing sims since sims 1 and I can say if they would have kept a lot of things from sims 2-3 sims 4 would be a great game. But they never listen to us real fans.

sims 4 is sad. Just to correct the title this is NOT PHYSICS but animations and effects. Physics in game is the interaction of two objects in which one can affect the other for example wind in clothes or hair, throwing objects, grass moving when a character is passing through and such. I would say most if not all things in sims does not have physics are just animations and effect sprites. The closest of physics in this video is the salad thingy in sims 4, all the rest is just animations and effects.

many of you may not remember, but Sims 2 was already one beast of a game for its time, pretty sure that if they added particly effects similar to the Sims 3, the game could have riveled Crysis in terms of Hardwaredemands.
Sims 3 is the most underrated game of the whole Franchise, I'll never change my mind.
I prefer sims 2 not only bcs you can grab slices one and one, sims 3 pizza slices are huge 😅😂

Nah, guys, c'mon! Be real! Sims 2 was and will be the best and last true Sims game. After Sims 2 there is no Maxis.
Like, do I really need detailed patty in my sim hand? Nor spinning food in a bowl? Sims 2 still and will has way more cool mechanics and details.
All in all it is about gameplay anyway. In this case Sims 2 once again will always be a winner. There is no match for soulful game.
I gotta disagree with you on that, you can post this on a video comparing overall gameplay and it will be fine but this is a video comparing food physics, and it was shown that Sims 3 did a lot of things better (though it didn't have the pizza and microwave physics).
Also I always hear about Sims 2 fans talking about the details and how they love them so much yet it's so weird when they reject details that only the later games had, wouldn't people be asking for more details?
I don't like how some Sims 2 fans can't stand it when a later game does things better and then they just come up with excuses about things unrelated to the topic of the video. It might be the best in many people's eyes but we shouldn't think of it as a flawless game where everything is perfect. (it's far from that anyways) There will be some flaws but it's fine because sequels are meant to improve on what the earlier games had.
I'm saying this as someone who loves Sims 2 and Sims 3 equally, I praise everything good they have but I'm also aware of the flaws each game has.
@Atsuhiko8888 Part of the reason I haven't played TS2 more is because of how inaccessible it is. Another, larger part is how absolutely insufferable the game's fans are. They treat it as the absolute Holy Grail of life simulators while deriding everything else as inferior in every way, and it's... really frustrating.
The only "inferior" Sims game, in my opinion, is 4. All the others have strong merits. Yes, even the first.
Ehh, I liked Sims 3 the best. For me,, the open world (even with rabbitholes) and the lack of loading screens beats 2
@@helonelunede5217 The Sims 3 is my favorite due to its gameplay depth. There's just a TON of stuff to do, and it takes a long time to exhaust everything, even with just a few packs. I haven't played 2 much though, so maybe I'm drawing the wrong comparison. :p
Lol people nowadays praise TS3 so much but forget all the problems it had:
- super laggy Gameplay even in high performance PC
- community lots empty ( i remember late night and having like 5 sims in a disco)
- you couldn' t travel between world, which made very hard to play all the expansion features in one world.
- hours to load patterns in buy and create a sim mode.
- isla paradiso unplayable.
- most animations are worse than Sims 2.
- bugs everywhere.
The best Sims game was Sims 2, without any doubt. The Sims 3 in theory would be the best but in pratice it was a big mess, and thats the reason why the cut the main features from it in TS4 ( that is also a bad Sims game)
