Wow man, it really looks like actual gameplay. I love the authenticity here. Also nice touch actually using X1 Zero instead of just recycling X3 Zero like everyone else.
The animation was so good that I was about to ask where to get this romhack until I read the description 😂. Awesome job man! Also, it becomes apparent some X2 songs weren't intended to be played for more than a few seconds in those long cutscenes, the hunter base theme was driving me insane hahaha
Yeah it's real strange that the Hunter Base theme is just the first half of the X2 prologue track looped over and over, but I'd like to think it was just spacing issues and not an oversight or laziness 💀
Argile was always such a damn scary motherfucker. Specially his transformation at the end, one of the scariest bosses in all of Megaman, it always was so off putting to me, how tf did he become that... and... why. To me he is even scarier than Double.
Glad you enjoyed it. I don't think I'll do a, "Vile vs. the X2 bosses", since I have it pretty laid out that X and Zero take care of them while Vile fights the Anti-Hunters. Plus I'd have to come up with dozens of custom weapon ideas until I found the right ones, and two were enough to get the message across that Vile's weaponry still varies in this installment. Thanks for the idea though!

I never thought I'd see gameplay of Vile beyond the PSP, but I'm so glad to see it happen even in 16 bit!
Sadly it is only an animation. But I too would love to see a playable Vile! Someday maybe.

Just recorded gameplay and use the amount of ripped sprites needed. Some motion tweens helped here and there, but mainly it was emulated movements
