It's surreal when you realize that most of those guys on the team now probably weren't even born OR were small children when K.G. got drafted by the Timberwolves...
Me and Andrew Wiggins are both the same age (20) Kevin Garnett was drafted June 28,1995 at age 19, Andrew Wiggins was born February 23, 1995. It's crazy when you think about it he was only 5 months when Garnett was drafted and now there teammates.
Kruuzza18 Because this sort of thing is what sports is all about. The emotion from the fans and the players. The love and gratitude for a player that gave them so many great memories coming back to where he started. Emotional things like this are why we love sports.
I was lucky enough to be in attendance. Such a memorable night, every aspect of this game and presentation, Jiggly Boy, Montell Jordan performing at halftime… It was nearly perfect.
I remember when I was young and went on a trip to nyc with the twolves with my dad. Kevin Garnett squeezed my head and asked me what game I was playing on my gameboy. And I got to meet flip Saunders as well, still the coolest thing that I have ever done and that was back in 04.
I can relate I met him in St.Louis for a exhibition game against the Bucks he was standing outside the hotel eating Krispy Kreme donuts even asked my cousin & I if we wanted some he was very down to earth & cool as hell& I got to see Ray Allen score 40 pts& made it look so easy definitely a night I'll never forget 🏀🏀🏀
I still get chills watching this. KG is an all time great and one of my favorite players ever. First NBA game i ever watched was in the playoffs when he scored 48 against the Lakers. KG is the best
I'm a lakers fan but much respect for kevin Garnett too see him back home he looks better in t wolves jersey.... He reminds me of Kobe his a laker for life!!
Even me, as a Boston fan. Growing up he's always been my favorite player whether he was in a wolves jersey or celtics. He was at his best in Minnesota and was the most intense and fun to watch player for me. I'm happy he's able to end his career there, and go out like he came in.
I disagree. I think they would get out of the first round, finally, maybe reach the WCF had Marbury elevated his career. But I still don't think they would have beaten the Lakers, Blazers or even the Kings in the early 2000s. Those three teams were loaded back then.
I agree on this one, Marbury could have been one of the best PGs in the NBA during that time. Building around the two key players would have made it easy for the Timberwolves to make a run at the championship.
I'm just now discovering this video.. Mann if that was me they would've had to take a TV timeout for me to get myself together from all the tears flowing what a soul touching tribute... I actually met KG what a cool dude& he was very down to earth 🏀👑
KG is the OG of the NBA. For 20+ years, he has been the most intense competitor in the NBA and no doubt has himself in conversation for top 20 player of all time. If not that, he is certainly top 10 competitiveness
I love this video. Sends shivers down my spine. Makes me think about the old days. Absolutely love this. My intensity is on 100 just like how KG's always was, is, and will be. Congrutaltions KG you've become one with the force (NBA hall of fame) just like how Yoda died in Star Wars and become one with the force to help Luke. Man this is epic! Who else is thinking about the first time through when KG was on the T Wolves!?!
Went to this game during my senior year of high school. Had fun being at it. Bought myself a KG jersey shirt as a souvenir. KG will have his T-Wolves # retired one day once Glen Taylor is out of the picture.
Kevin Garnett can now be to Andrew Wiggins, what Sam Mitchell was to him: A mentor, father figure. It's exciting to see this! Great way for KG to go out!
Don’t forget former Portland Trail Blazers star point guard Terry Porter. Both Porter and Mitchell were Garnett’s mentors when Minnesota were stuck with two petulant wannabe stars like Isaiah Rider and Christian Laettner.
KG wanted to win with his own team. KG did not quit and tried so hard to win them a championship. KG could have joined Kobe or Tracy but he didn't. KG is one of best players to ever play against Jordan and Pippen, Kobe and Shaq. Easy NBA Top 5 All time.
KG 's story is 1 of THE BEST one's. We've watch him grow from a boy to a man. And 1 of the best big men in the game. Killin part is he didn't even go to college, nobody taught to want to be gr8 & a pro, he just went out & did it, AND he NEVER HALF-ASSED on the court. He is 1 of the last few of the old school big men/players. #Passion #Heart #WarriorAttitude The man was worth watching. That's #KG
Celtics fan, love kg no matter where he plays, I always cheered for him after he left us and can't wait to see him inducted in to the basketball hall of fame
Celtics and Wolves are so very different...but they both have a certain kind of flare, of character....i think that is why garnett fits well into both teams.
seeing that Nene guarded KG this game, in the introduction they should've shown Kevin Garnett's facial dunk on Nene back when Nene was playing for the Nuggets.
KG actually wanted to stay in Minnesota even after losing seasons and wasting his prime there. he balked at other trade offers and only went to Boston after ray Allen signed he had no choice if he wanted a ring no superstar did more for a small franchise since Lillard.
Best PF of all time! Wasn't blessed with teammates but at least he won a chip at Boston!!! If only Marbury wasn't a crazy ass fool Minnesota would've won at least one!
This video should have more views. Underrated moment in nba history this man literally carried this franchise for his best yrs
Not just his best. But the franchises best. It’s a damn shame his number isn’t in the rafters at target center.
Carried them where?
@@OlSkoolinto your mom house.
To the conference finals in 2004... The best player in team's history, and one of the best PFs the game has ever seen.

Intro gave me chills. Garnett was one of my favorite current players back during his original Timberwolves era.
It's surreal when you realize that most of those guys on the team now probably weren't even born OR were small children when K.G. got drafted by the Timberwolves...
Wiggins & LaVine were around 8 months old. Just learning to walk. Still in diapers.
Me and Andrew Wiggins are both the same age (20) Kevin Garnett was drafted June 28,1995 at age 19, Andrew Wiggins was born February 23, 1995. It's crazy when you think about it he was only 5 months when Garnett was drafted and now there teammates.

That passion and intensity of KG never fades
Had Marbury not lost his sanity and turned into the player he should have been, I think Garnett gets a ring in Minnesota during his prime
I disagree. I think they would get out of the first round, finally, maybe reach the WCF had Marbury elevated his career. But I still don't think they would have beaten the Lakers, Blazers or even the Kings in the early 2000s. Those three teams were loaded back then.
