This Channel is a University, (see @live2win4freedom82 comment ).
Controlling your enotions is part of Masculinity. Being polite, respectful, having mannerisms, - All of these traits is what we should be embracing and doing without thought.
I Love this channel for ALL of the content, Not just the self - defense/ self - offense techniques being demonstrated. Learn from these tragic events. Don't add to them.
Much Love and Respect to Professor David and Instructor Kenny for caring about others and sharing their knowledge and Wisdom in these times when there's little love and Wisdom being displayed.
      Talk to your people.

Great breakdown . It’s funny when I was a kid . We were always told count to 10 before you act. I’m a small guy 5’6 165lbs I’ve been around many big guys in the city. That big guy wasn’t a fighter. He’s a guy used to people being scared because of his size. I’ve seen many like him.
People need to realize actions =reactions. One mistake changes your whole life. It’s so hard to convince people other’s opinions don’t matter.
I survived a home invasion. They beat me broke my arm and ribs. But the worst thing was my girl yelling help an not being able to get to her.
After I healed I went looking for real self-defense. I used to wrestle and box. But I was out of shape. I found small circle jujitsu and Filipino martial arts. They gave me a new direction an friends that are the nicest I’ve ever met.
Love to train with you guys.

Another "aha moment indeed". "Mastering one's Emotions"... This holds true in every aspect of life. In business, relationships, etc. Truly Professor, YOU are one of a kind. Nobody else is talking about this stuff. the root cause of most if not all encounters. Whether in negotiations regarding a multi million $$ deal, or if your trying to communicate effectively in a personal matter. Mastering your emotions truly is the path to victory.
And, yet again, another teachable moment where the message IS the LESSON. No technique needed here. Can't thank Prof. David and Shihan Ken enough for sharing their wisdom with everyone willing to engage. Blessings to you gentlemen. Ous!

I had a situation by bus stop. A guy came up to me and immediately threw a punch at my face. My training from fighting with my brother growing up was to use my palm with my outstretched arm to knock punches away. It worked. It caused him to bug his eyes out and mouth to drop open in disbelief. Next, he swings at me again. Now I move my head back a little and turn my head to the right, the punch just lightly feather slides off my chin. He swings again and misses. He tried to kick me, but he missed as I moved back a little. I hardly lay a hand on him. From that day forth, that man never bothered me again. In fact, he saw me on the bus and moved farthest away from me, close to the window. The point is that you don't always have to hurt someone to win a fight.

It looks like the guy with the gun just showed up looking for problems. He could've left that situation multiple times but he didn't. He was waiting for the target practice. The fact that he shot a man with his back turned is cowardice and then he shot the man as he bled to death on the floor just to seal the deal. 100% pure psychopath. Sensei was right and this video was a great take on the situation. It absolutely didn't have to go down the way it did. Shout out from an Atemi-Ryu Jujitsu student.

I have ready this news in my country because I follow an American account on Twitter who shows brutal fights. The victime was aggressive, but hé didn't deserve to be killed. Then her wife took him away from the altercation and that was fatal for him because he was an easy target for his killer. The both needed to find an agreement, the Haitian family was noisy and the killer who lived downstairs complained about the noises who came from that apartment.

New york is a duty to retreat state. The fact that he left his apartment to argue with someone with a gun on him he was wrong. The court can definitely argue he had content. The gunmen Initiated the confrontation and did nothing to defuse it. The way the man handled himself suggest he has formal training and may be License to carry. This will work against them in the courts. The legal battle he will more than likely lose.

Had this been 2 people that did not know each other in a random street altercation. Perhaps then you can argue self-defense. but this is a neighbor who The gunman is known to have conflict with.. The moment he stepped outside his house with a gun. He was wrong. the best self-defense for him was to not to approach his neighbor at all.

Self defense wasn’t over once he turned his back, he just at that moment wasn’t a threat to the initial guy, however there’s a good argument to be made that it was a defense of others, he still had the weapon in his hand, and he was in a confrontation with the wife / mother. He could have argued that he was protecting her life.

The fact that he brought out scissors and held them that way (!!)was because 1) he had no intention of killing, 2) he wanted the other guy to notice the scissors so to be a little afraid, 3) and also maybe because if he would be arrested the charges would be less for having scissors and holding them safely like that, claiming being threatened and for self-defense!! In my opinion he thought it through carefully, but not enough.
The guy with the gun simply wanted to kill him, either way he would have shot him. He didn't care about self defense. He wanted to first talk to him and then kill him. After he turned to push his family in, the guy with the gun knew he may be losing the chance to kill him and so he hurried up. It's clearly planned out murder with intent and because of STUPIDITY.
PS. 1) Self-defense does not immediately mean I have the right to kill you; this should be taught and made VERY clear.
    2) I don't why all this happened, the whole story behind it. I agree we most of what is said in the video...
