Check out my new 6+ hour downloadable course for Studio One 5.5, here!: quantaaudio.com/store For information on one-on-one web training, check out my site, here: quantaaudio.com/webtraining At 4:50, please note that using the shift key temporarily reactivates the snap function and that is why the cursor is 'jumping'/snapping. Just disregard that behavior and be sure that the range tool crosshairs are placed where you'd like for them to be, and this is where your range selection will begin! Also note that we can remove our Gain Envelope points by double-clicking on them, in addition to the methods I covered in this tutorial. I forgot to mention this. Lastly, be aware that the Gain Envelope level adjustments within our audio events are pre input gain/fader levels within the mix console.
Been learning a lot from you over the past couple of years. Unlike others, you work the DAW in a direct and in-depth fashion. It's good to know how to make beats, mix bass, clean up vocals. But none of that is much good if the user doesn't know his DAW. For instance, I've been stumped far more times then I'd care to admit using the simple Studio One snap functions. Part of it is my poor understand of rhythm theory, thus quantizing all my swing rhythm stuff can be totally daunting. When I need to make note-by-note corrections of MIDI data, I get absolutely frustrated when things don't lock to the grid, or the beat, or the bar, or wherever! (Don't know my DAW.) Maybe you could do an in-depth tutorial on snapping to unusual rhythms and such in Studio One 5. Sure would save my scalp from all the hair I'm pulling out!
Glad to hear the tutorials have been helpful, Art. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment and glad you appreciate the in-depth format of my tutorials. I know not everyone likes this style! As far as gaining a better understanding of the quantize functions and in particular how things lock to the grid, beat, bar, etc., you may want to check out this tutorial I did a while back: th-cam.com/video/696gThOQld4/w-d-xo.html Regarding making a tutorial about using quantize with swing and unique rhythms I will keep this in mind and hopefully get to that one day soon. Again, thanks for your support of the channel! Best.
Well I've definitely learned something new here, and very useful! Thanx! Although I think the crazy stuff you were trying would've been better demonstrated on a piece of music.
How do you get the top left hand corner selected with the arrow key and the one right next to it I see they’re both selected in blue because if you just have the arrow selected and you highlight an event and right click it will not give you that option to do again envelope thank you
Gain envelope adjustments does not carry into melodyne for me. Also upon editing with melodyne, can make further gain adjustments. Am I missing something??
Nice, but you didn't tell how to make the event adjustments independent in the same song. Either you make a new clip version in the pool, or you go in Event and use the Seperate Shared Copies function. This will also make a new clip version.

I appreciate your videos. I've been using Studio One for almost a month as a complete beginner and I learned so much from your channel.

The clip version functionality you're describing was introduced in version 5.2; after this tutorial was made.
