played shaman tank and pulled so big without dying... then i rolled warrior and tried warrior tanking and immediatly started to cry... no threat, no rage, nothing...
Right? I feel like they should have increased the bloodthirst rage gain or given us more rage generation runes. Not having berserker rage on top of blood rage to proc flagellation just sucks.
So nothing changed.
So I hit 25 on my warrior on Day 2 and cleared the BFD raid 7/7. I've tanked about 10 deadmines, 10 SFKs, one WC, one Stockades and the raid. It's definitely not the meta tank (that would be prot paladin). But it is still quite effective.
My strategy is the run Endless Rage on Gloves, Frenzied Assault on pants and Blood Frenzy on Chest. You tank with a two-handed weapon. You charge (with 2/2 improved charge you get 16 rage) then you tab rends on 3-4 targets, spamming Thunderclap, get a Demo shout up and then just Cleave. Make sure to swap to any target that dodges to get a 400 damage overpower crit on them.
I do about 60-70 DPS, have 1300 health with Fort and keep threat more or less alright on trash. Make sure to keybind raid markers (skull, x, triangle etc) and encourage DPS to follow the kill order.
For the BFD raid, I actually think Prot Warrior is the best tank for it. I go Devastate on Gloves, Furious Thunder on pants and keep Blood Frenzy on chest. I pop a Rage Potion, charge, Thunderclap into Demo Shout, swap Defensive Stance with a macro, bloodrage, taunt and start spamming devastates. My devastates hit for 110 normal and 200 crit and you can absolutely just spam the hell out of them. I did 60 overall DPS on Lord Kelris, for example. My threat is WAY higher than a Prot Paladin or Feral can generate single-target with the benefit of having a 12sec CD kick, thunderclap increases time between boss attacks by 20%, demo shout lowers AP by 55 and I have 45.9% armor.
Warrior is definitely NOT the meta class for Phase 1. That's true. But get geared, get creative, and it's fine.
P.S. Engineering bombs hit for 80 damage on all targets on a 1min CD and are awesome for big dungeon AoE pulls.

Azamous is legit the most monotone person in the entire world! Cracks me up every time
I tanked Deadmines on my Feral Druid at lvl22 and so I don’t have the survival of the fittest rune yet, but was struggling with groups half the size of what Guzu was pulling at 17. Rage was a big issue; trying to hold onto mobs when pulling more than say 4 was proving to be a headache. I feel like it would be good if lacerate could be spread with swipe or something.

Ridiculous how imba the Shaman Runes are, and when you look at Warrior Runes they are like: wHeN bLeEd, 3 rAgE; or you can use Victory Rush ONCE withing 20 seconds after YOU (not your party, YOU) LAST HIT a honorable or xp unit, Victory Rush deals and heals 15 damage at lvl 18 with a 10dps weapon... prayge they do something with warrior, hopefully the "gladiator stance" is real

but yeah, I really hope they are actually taking the balancing issues srsly seeing how the pvp rewards for doing the Battle for Ashenvale can even give you a fcking mount before lvl 40... So yea.. if they don't, that's a major L

honestly they just made it an AOE ability instead, which imo is fine cuz their single target is still rly good!
Wait till you hear about the infamous scorpion pets EVERY single hunter used to use before they fixed the bug with their scaling. Their poisons were literally ticking for 100 dmg per tick, and that poison was stackable... Ofc every hunter were like "aww, come on, no need to nerf that, working as intended (:"

I love that a lot of classes got new life, but for some classes it just feels like no change with the 25 overhead wall. Once we get into the later levels, some classes will scale much better, but warrior early game still feels woefully underequipped to do things like tank or put out major spikes in DPS outside of single target bosses.

@@marv4312 oh no the top 2 dps in classic WoW aren’t that good at lvl 25 :( plus I’ve seen rogues take on multiple targets easily with mutilate
@@JustLikeYou. yup. once you get mutilate and the lvl 20 rune... you might not do AOE but damn, if things last long when you run Mutilate/Envenom/Deadly Brew. then theres something wrong. Also, if you go combat and get blade dance rune... you can solo like... 3 mobs, especially with Riposte. But damn... caster enemies are a bish.

the meta will keep changing as we increase level cap, and im all for it!

I was hesitant about tanking due to always playing dps. Our tank bounced mid run so i jumped on my shaman nervously to get us through the rest of the run......shaman is now my main. 😅

Shaman tank is basically a chad paladin now, leather tanking like men.
Leveling a rogue was painful. apparently they are amazing in pvp though

i love shaman tank, playing it too. But i often opt for Mana Shield instead of Molten Blast as rune. Makes aoe tanking a bit harder but i have mana for DAYS. Like i seriously dont need to sit and drink ever that way and i feel like thats a better pace for the dungeon depending on what other classes i bring. If its full meele comp the speed you can blast through dungeons that way is insane
So you go from the best AOE threat class to the worst? Sounds bad, may as well be a warrior at that point, then you at least have thunderclap and you never run out of mana.
That shield in Deadmines is not rly so good at lvl 19 u can get at AH blue shield very cheap that is much better (If anyone plans to go farm it)

Runs for the legs are easy enough they take like 6min each just blasting the left side of wc. I began seeing left/cobrahn runs being spammed for sunday as people trying to hr them is pointless and cringe when you can spam left side in 6m.
And here im struggling with my fury warrior against 1 mob xD

Shaman tank is amazing , sadly dual wield with rockbiter deals lot of dmg but aggro is insane .I think that should be changed if not lot of tanks gonna hate us if its not another shaman .

Just came up with an interesting concept. Area buffs for pvp flag control of a dungeon area. Could be extra exp resource gen, better crit % etc anything tbh would be worth. 🤌
Should be a zone you cannot compete in if you are 5+ lvls above the dungeon... to prevent BMs.
I hope it will not be like that at 60. Taking 10 Mobs and then killing them by ae... if i would like to play this, i can go to retail.

I like the introduction of new roles for several classes, but I think implementation has been extremely, well, lazy. Like with shaman, they attached a paragraph-sized tooltip to one ability, and that just magically transforms you into a tank. It's really kind of absurd on its face.

I've been having a lot of fun myself with SoD so far, I think the most fun I've had with ANY mmorpg versions in a long long time my whole life. That must tell one something about how good breath of a fresh air this SoD is. (Note, I didnt even play SoM so yeah, heard it was really really underwhelming)
