What gear are you in when trenching?I just bought the same machine. I also have a 3700 With a hydrostatic transmission I don't like the hydrostatic at all .I like it for backfilling and that's it.
Probably 2nd gear. A mechanical 3610 transfers engine HP more efficiently/directly thru a transmission, gearbox & right angle drive. A hydrostatic 3700 is a good machine but you lose 10-15% engine HP transferring it into FLUID power. A mechanical trencher (which none of the manufacturers make anymore unfortunately) will always outperform & dig faster/with more torque that the same HP hydrostatic trencher.
Performance depends on soil conditions. Sounds like you may be digging in rock, hence the "jumping" & slow Ground Drive speed. Could also be worn teeth or digging chain. Click on below web link to Download Catalog - www.ditchwitch.com/sites/default/files/CTS-Catalog-2019.pdf. You can also contact you local Dealer recommendation & to order Parts.....probably a combination of Dirt, Shark & carbide tipped Rock teeth. Additionally, your chain should also be the correct Tension....typically 2-3 Fingers wide between chain and digging boom.
Sir i am from India. Here the problem is DOMESTIC WATER CONNECTION or MUNICIPAL WATER LINE are their while digging it. If i continue digging it water line are completely damage too. So i need a solution for these. Machine is absolutely good. 1. what's the cost of the machine and where i can have this sample in India? Urgently needed?
This particular rebuilt machine is $23,000. We have another similar used model 3610 for $15,500. Additionally we have multiple used riding trenchers from $8,500-30,000+. Please Reply with your email address so we can make contact. We are the authorized dealer for NC/SC. HQ in Charlotte, NC with three (3) SC branches.
Yes....machine will trench thru slate or rocky soil; however, not thru solid rock generally in excess of 7,000 psi. Notice the Shark teeth on the digging chain....these help penetrate & fracture tough ground. We also offer carbide tipped ROCK teeth which further assist digging chain to cut thru more challenging soil conditions. Thanks for your question & interest Alejandro.
I've seen video after video of trenchers doing their job very well, but they are ALL shown working where there are no rocks, no roots.....you could have a great garden there, but it's not real-life instruction. Waste of my time!
This video was in our Dealership Test Field. There are plenty of trencher videos on our TH-cam Channel digging on customer jobsites. Trenchers dig in tough rocky soil & thru

How come my RT-45 jumps a lot when I trench? I have to slow it down to where it barely moves so I it can stop jumping.
