Thank you for making this series and for introducing us to these rare and beautiful cars! :) The quality of your work for producing these videos is top notch! :) Already a fan of the brand! :)
Excellent work! - Loved hearing the speakers in Italian with subtitles - brings out even more of the Italian-ness of these Euro-American hybrids. Would love to see a similar video on Intermeccanica!
The greatest italian car when cars were not toys. Electronic supplies today can make everyone like pilot, but here needs a natural gentleman's talent to appreciate those cars. Simply beautiful.
Perhaps the most beautiful car ever made! Close to buying one a few years back just before prices went to the moon. Still have trouble sleeping for not buying it...
@@myZisfantastic agreed You got nice tastes mate! I would love also an Alfa Romeo Montreal 😎👍 I love all the Ghiblis anyway. The 60s/70s is the best one
Wow, what a fantastic movie! I own 1970 Grifo number 313 with a 383 engine (6.2 litre Chevrolet) and it is quickly becoming my favourite car, truly amazing experience...
The episode is great, it flows so smoothly as the Iso does. The most fanstastic is the passion of the two lucky owners, you can almost feel it when you just take a look at them. Wonderful 🙂👍
Your story about Iso Grifo is really cool. I'm 61 years old and I have a blues Matchbox model like the one you show in this video. It was a surprise from my dear father at Christmas 1974. I love Italians Cars and I have a classic FIAT Premio 1992 here in Brazil. Congratulations, thank you.
this episode put a constant smile on my face. The first time I became awareof the Iso Grifo was around 1978 through an advert in the ADAC Motorwelt. Since then, I remain fascinated by this unique and superbly styled car. I periodically looked out for articles or even sales of this car. At some point in my life I may buy one, but it looks like almost certainly a big restoration project. One day perhaps my dream may become true similar to yours. I like the style and the design of your episode. It reminds me of, (but is also refreshingly distinct from), Harry's garage, another series produced with style and enthusiasm. Very well done, and keep up your good style.
In the opening scenes, I thought I recognized the river as the 'Tagliamento' in Friuli, north-east Italy. A road sign for 'Maniago' near the end of the video gave me another clue and it turned out to be the Torrente Meduna, which runs parallel to the Tagliamento - as I confirmed with Google Streetview! I was born about 40km away, in Artegna, 69 years ago. Great to see the scenery again - and the cars!
Many years ago, I was with my two brothers in Basel Switzerland, and whe saw over their in the auction 3 Grifos..The yellow was a 7l car and the two other smal blocks. One in blue scuro and the other in light green. What a day and memorys!!
Thank you very much for this perfect and very passionatly video! Very close to perfection. I Love the ISO Grifo since i saw my first an only one on an classic exibition, Must have been in the early 90´s, „Techno Classica“ Essen, Germany. Love at the first sight. It was in light blue and and Must have been a 1968 modell. In my opinion the Most beautiful italian sportscar from this age!!! Great video
I've this feeling that for many people, interest in the grifo was sparked by that blue Matchbox-model. I also had it at a certain point (though I am much younger). To me the grifo was really the highlight of 1960s Italian motoring, with the almost incomparable balance of its shape - Bertone at its absolute best, even more so than with the more agressive looking Lamborghini miura. Given all the talent at Iso Rivolta, it's a real shame the company went under following the problems of the early 1970s.
They could not survive without selling in the American market... and our 'wise' politicians decided to save us from ourselves by closing the door on small-run, limited-production cars by requiring safety standards that small producers could not afford to meet, while also piling on bumper strength & headlight height requirements that seriously limited styling/design.
Hydar Ail Dan Eastwood is right. Plus there was the first ‘oil crisis’ in the early 70’s that would have had an affect as well as rising insurance premiums etc.
Ciao Gianpietro.
To me, the Iso Grifo will always be unsurpassed in automotive style perfection. Still have about 7 different versions of the Matchbox model but sadly not a real one - yet! (I had to settle for a ‘70 Dodge Challenger instead, not that I’m complaining 😉)
The Iso Grifo emblem is the Griffin...the ex-Ferrari engineers and designers..Giugiaro and Bizzarrini..wanted to get back at Ferrari and build a car superior to the Ferrari and they did it with this Iso Grifo. It had Italian styling and a more reliable Corvette engine that had immense power and torque. The mythological Griffin eats horses for breakfast by the way....and we all know what Ferrari's emblem is....haaaa.
studio7 I didn’t realise that, cheers! I’ve heard lots of anecdotes that Enzo the man could be a right @#%! when he wanted to be. The arrival of the Grifo by ISO, the Miura by Lamborghini and Ford’s Le mans wins with the GT40 certainly showed him that he couldn’t always have everything his own way. 😉
They all have mid late 60s Corvette engine/transmissions mostly 327s but the yellow one with the pagoda hood is a 427. But someone needs to put a LS9 in one.
I know this particular Iso Grifo. I saw it in Montreal, Canada many years ago. It was for sale at a very cheap price. It was also blue on beige & in very poor shape. Too bad I missed a good chance.
It was in 1980. I saw it advertised on Auto Hebdo for $10 000. A short while after I saw the car in person by pure chance at a wheel alignment place in a shady part of the city. I sat in it and checked it out. The garage owner told me it was in poor shape & not worth buying. A while later I met someone who knew the owner . Later the car was painted red according to him. Sorry, this is all I can say. Never met the owner & have not seen his friend in over 30 years. Garage has also shut down. Thank you. This is all information I can provide.

Great video, these cars are just beautiful! And the noise, OUAH!

Absolutely fantastic car. Pure beauty. Sounds magic. An Italian Garage, a million thanks!!!
Perhaps the most beautiful car ever made! Close to buying one a few years back just before prices went to the moon. Still have trouble sleeping for not buying it...
Matter of taste! for me the 60's Maserati Ghibli is the one, but I admit this one is also beautiful!

Chev 350, stroked to 383ci. I have one too, great V8 engine.
henkdrie You’re a lucky man! Did you do the engine work or did you acquire it that way?
The episode is great, it flows so smoothly as the Iso does. The most fanstastic is the passion of the two lucky owners, you can almost feel it when you just take a look at them. Wonderful 🙂👍
Giugiaro ha interpretato perfettamente lo spirito
ISO. Grande equilibrio tra sportività ed eleganza.
LOVE the Iso Grifo!
I had a Matchbox light blue one just like you :)

The interior of that Grifo is gorgeous
I was so lucky to see one ISO Grifo "live", red color. Amazing.
Rare beauty in motion, truly artwork on the road and devil under the bonnet. A wet dream.

What a car! Beautiful, elegant , fantastic!
Thank you so much. Never had that deep look in the history of this iconic, italian brand.
A stunning Iso Grifo concept laying in Bonomelli's garage. That's a remarkable collection indeed !
One of the best videos on TH-cam
One of the most beautiful cars!
An exoticcar at the time but with reliable mechanicals!
Best Italian car ever. Wonderful recording with a great care taker in the center.

Che spettacolo di macchine!
Video molto bello.
This is fantastic! I've been learning a lot more about Iso Rivolta for my job lately. You just gained a subscriber. Can't wait for more.
I keep watching this video and share it a lot. 2 years after seeing it for the first time..this is still the best video on the Grifo.
Many years ago, I was with my two brothers in Basel Switzerland, and whe saw over their in the auction 3 Grifos..The yellow was a 7l car and the two other smal blocks. One in blue scuro and the other in light green. What a day and memorys!!
Wonderful cars and shown driven on the kind of roads I think they were made for. Excellent, thank you!

Nice video
how could a company like that failed they make such great cars

Is that a Chevelle at 6:46? :-) Interesting garage!!! Beautiful video in every way.
Ottimo video. Come mai eri arrivato lì ? grazie.

ISO. real car!!!
saludos desde colombia ,bravo italia ,magníficos carros y maravillosas motos
Italian cars are my passion but I've only been able to afford Bertone x19's! The front end of this Grifo reminds me of a 70's Mustang or Camaro.

Yep, I've seen it 😊
OBRAS DE ARTE !!!!
Gorgeous looking car; did any of the factory Grifos come with webers?

Henry V, how can I reach you? I am the owner of the Grifo now and would be interested in some details, eg: when was it for sale in Montreal?
My dream car, perfectly designed. I would love to drive one, but I think this will never happen.
Bellissimo

Great Iso Grifo restoration company is in Poland - AbCar Oldtimers
Consumes the road like a Silver Griffin.
stupenda! Peccato il motore Americano... ma quelli so gusti oh.
Bellissimo video!
You never hear the words Italian and reliability in the same sentence.
...Wise man!
Italian Style 👌

Less Musica, more engine sounds , Grazi' 👍🤠
I wanna live where those guys live and drive those cars. so so sexy. Also, I want that guy's underground lair.
I thought iso was the bread and the rivolta was the model of the car. And it just had different variations.
