I see so many opportunities for "How-To" videos with this car. Plasti-Dip the paint, polish the headlight glass, leather steam clean and conditioning, and the list goes on. Great car!

E32, one of the coolest Bimmers ever. Even though I prefer the SWB version, I still envy your car! Good luck with it.

When I was stationed in Germany, I owned 3 BMWs...a 1990 750I, 1992 525I and a 2011 328i. The most exciting was the 750i. It had a 5.0 V12 in it. And while it was a gas hog, sport mode in it was the most fun I've ever had in a car period...my 328i and eventual 2012 Camaro SS didn't compare. The late 80's/early 90's 7 series cars were fantastic machines. I miss mine. I was forced to sell it off when it developed an internal engine problem...shutting the engine down to 6 cylinders and seriously hindering overall performance. The straight 6's were great too. Beautiful car you got here...

on the pre-91 factory E32's, only the driver's side window had auto-down. To activate auto-down, might take a few tries, but what you want to do is very quickly tap the front driver's side down window control down. And when I say quickly tap it, you have to be quick. Tap the power window down button for the front driver's side window VERY QUICKLY. Do it correctly and the driver's side window should go all the way down by itself.
For the 91 models and later, BMW enabled auto down for ALL windows. You can swap the General Module from a 91 to 94 car into the earlier models to give older cars the auto down feature for all windows. Just be sure to disconnect the battery before swapping the modules. This is needed in order for the general module to initialize correctly.

I love the oldie but goodies Bmws. I know the older Bmws last a hell of a lot longer than the newer models,. Bmw was ahead of there time with the electronics and gadgets back in the day and still is with the latest technology today,. If I can find a decent 1989 to 1990 Bmw 735i E32 I'll definitely buy it or a 530i E39😊

Nice one. My E32 730i has now 436000km and it runs great. Your one is very good equipped, it even has a reclining seats, my E32 does not have AC (really) but has got heated seats, shadowline look factory Hi Fi audio, sunroof, automatic windows and it is not automatic it is manual 5 speed (very fun and sporty to drive)

Very cool car man, sad to hear that your E39 M5 had to go, but as you said, you wanted a Imola Red M5 so, hope you get that soon.
That E32 looks very good for that age, the paint definitely need some polishing, seems little bit matte at some area . Would also be nice with some clean wheels, not to flashy but clean looking. And also a bit lowering would be awesome but thats optional :) Congratz with your new car!

this is why BMW's are amazing. 191k miles, and the interior looks mint - and electric everything for a 1989? PLUS reclining rear seats? thats pretty nuts... Love BMW's!

I bought an 89 model in 2004 for £20k, it looked brand new.
    Did about 16mpg.
Was fitted with a combined radio CD satnav unit (which you could update the maps on via CD if you had a spare £150).

Love these land yachts =P Theres one more luxury thing I believe was standard on this car. If it has a keyfob hold down open button and all 4 windows should go down. I was blown away when i saw it on my 05 audi a4. I visited Germany this summer and drove by a dealship. And in the back parking lot a Imola red m5 just sat there. No rust, no dings or anything, It had a indivudial interior (red inserts here and there). Blown clutch though, don't remember the price but man was i tempted =D

Cool ride man, the E32 7series are nice cars I've been in a 735i and 750il but the power between the two are night and day. I suggest you get some hids because you have projectors like DDM slim ballast 55w kit 6000k, NGK Iridium spark plugs, RT6 synthetic motor oil, factory drop in K&N, some engine software chip so easy to do on OBD-1 bimmers. A Spal electric cooling fan conversion should be easy to install on these cars like they are for the E36. When that fan engages in these summer days the parasitic drag will kill power substantially like your in a UPS truck also the fan is a ticking time bomb if the fan clutch is going out. It should wake the car up nicely. And for style get a set of OEM M-pars Reps look tacky. Keep us updated on this car!

Man, thanks for the tips! I'm uploading an HID diy as I type this. It's not fancy...by any means and could have most certainly been done better, but it was fairly easy. I'm gonna look into that Spal electric fan. You are right about that fan kicking in. The car already has no power, but when that fan is running...ugh! Next up on the list is to upgrade the sound system. Nothing major, but my commute is long and I need something that sounds decent. After that it's coils and wheels (oem MPars!). Then a full exterior detail. Running synthetic in her now. Filter soon. New spark plugs soon too. Cheers!

did you know, that you can close the windows with the key you have ?.. for example : when you leave the car and you have forgot to close the windows. Stick the key into the lock, and hold it into the lock position, they go up after 5 seconds or so, hold the key into lock position till the window(s) are fully closed. This only works on the drivers side, it will not work on the passengers side. and this car is very good looking for its age, i have seen much worse. I would clean it, make the paint and body straight, put E32 735i original rims on it, and its perfect.

  • @v00n2000

It was literally built like a tank. Someone crashed their Peugeot into the back of it at about 20 mph.
The whole front of their car collapsed, there was barely a scratch on the Beamer.

The e32 was alright for the time but the e38 was way ahead of its time in terms of looks and specifications. engine wise you can beat a BMW V8 still used today in the Morgan Aero 8

Ok I thought as much. It looks much better than the Chris Bangle monstrosities of recent vintage. Good luck in finding one, I used to get BMW parts brochures at one time a long time ago.
