    I bought an #E32 #735iL! This is a car that I have never seen at a car show or on the road in my entire life. These are as rare as they come, you just don't see them around. The E32 is the big daddy 7er and shares the design elements with the E34. The E34, by the way, is rapidly rising in price over the past two years. This is likely because the E30 prices have shot up so high, that the affordable #E34 became a substitute. Until E34 prices started climbing. Well folks here is your last chance, get an E32 before the prices take off. Buying an E32. Buying a 735i. Buying a 735iL.

    The 735 is a great car. I drove a 735i/5-speed for many years, and loved it. The M30B35 in the e32 is a great fit.

    Great color. Iceland Green only made from `90-`93. Paint and interior look superb. ASC+T was always in an option, unless you had a later 750iL E32. ASC+T was seen mostly after 1990. For a period, you could get ASC+T and LSD in the `91-`93 era. If you buckle a rear-seat belt with car-on, the corresponding rear-headrest will go up. You were lucky to find this, especially on Facebook marketplace. Driver's wiper is upside down. Deflector should be faced-down. Early models also had a speed-sensitive pressurized driver side wiper. Projector-Beam Headlamps yes, the E32 introduced (HID was not a term used until much later). Xenon lights came out in 1991-1992 on the the 750 and 850.

    • @BIMMERZEITT
      @BIMMERZEITT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, excellent information! Thanks so much for sharing it with us here. I bet cars with both LSD and ASC+T are very rare. I will try the rear seats buckled in. I just discovered that the passenger front seat heater works - the seatbelt must be buckled and the car running - it does work!

    I think the E32 is the best generation of the 7-Series. The most beautiful and doesn't have as complicated electronics as the E38 and newer. I think I would go for the 740 if I was buying one. The M30 is probably easier to maintain, but it's pretty archaic and I believe it gets worse gas mileage than the V8. Or perhaps swap an S52 in which would be a good choice for a reliable daily and fairly easy to install using E34 parts.

    Great car! Love your videos, as others have said, your calm mannerism is easy to hear and-calming, lol 👍
    Love this creamy interior. Very clean and beautiful! I have LSG in my ‘93 740i, wish it were as wrinkle free..
    One other interesting fact about the E32s-They were the first BMW ever where the side windows were integrated to be a part of the cars overall structural rigidity. It might have been the first car-period to have this 🤔
    I also bought my E32 sight unseen and had to have it because it is an exact replica of my very first BMW I ever bought used in 1998. So many memories come back. I paid 2500$ and it had been sitting outdoors in San Francisco on a used car lot, forgotten for about 17 years. It’s clear coat was very dusty but it polished out. All of those “first 5 things” were certainly needed immediately;) I’d add-cabin filter, too!
    For me then it was also Giubo, brake booster, headliner; dash lights, shifter bezel and lights, new headlights, door handle gaskets, fuel pump, cooling system components...I’ve lost track 🤪
    But since all of the initial stuff, have gone from 121k miles to now 167k in about 3.5 years VERY trouble free. It’s such a sweet car

    • @BIMMERZEITT
      @BIMMERZEITT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha thanks Brian, I try to keep it real. A bit more speed and enthusiasm would probably make the channel more popular, but I try not to be fake.
      Interesting fact about the structural rigidity. They also did away with the rain channels and overall this generation had significant wind tunnel testing vs. the e23 and e28 generations.
      The long list of repairs never ends does it?! But the satisfaction is worth it.

    Nice car but just an FYI the HID lights actually debuted on the 92 cars but could be retrofitted to earlier cars. I don't recommend the earlier systems for three reasons:
    1) The old Hella system, despite still available from BMW, is around $2k per side.
    2) this version of system is low beam HID only, bulbs are sealed in housing. BMW only sells complete housings, not individual bulbs.
    3) HID only, no angel eyes or LEDS. Light output is pathetic for the cost. Totally not worth $2k per side. Several aftermarket companies sell much better systems for just a few hundred dollars. The Hella system is completely unique and nothing else interchanges. Hella won't support this system either.

    • @BIMMERZEITT
      @BIMMERZEITT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian, thanks so much for posting this comment! I had no idea about any of those things. I was reading into the HID setup and how rare it is on these cars, I am surprised that the bulbs are not replaceable. That is crazy expensive! Do you know what year switched over to the sealed beam lights from ellipsoids?

    • @houseofno
      @houseofno 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BIMMERZEITT They didn't. These were an option. Ellipsoids were not legal on US cars at the time. Ellipsoids had a different socket and a different harness. I will look up the link with the information.
      Most subsequent owners couldn't afford to replace these assemblies when they burned out. Most owners either reverted to halogens or sealed beams, converted an aftermarket or E38 or E39 system over to their E32.
      HID headlights were a very new technology at the time and the lights were sealed for safety reasons. The lights utilize an electrical ballast box that has to momentarily generate thousands of volts at a time to excite the gases in the bulb to generate the light. It works on a similar principle to neon or fluorescent lights but adapted for automobiles. This was a very new technology in the early nineties. The high voltages briefly required by the system are also why it used a 30 amp fuse instead of five for the conventional lights. It doesn't need thirty amps all the time, just for the brief second the lights are turned on.

      E63 M6 had the S85 V10. Notorious for eating its camshaft bearings. Once that happens, it's bye bye engine, hello $35k replacement engine. You can get a 645i putting out 445 hp (just 55 hp shy of the S85, minus 2 cylinders, but won't eat its camshaft bearings). Main maintenance items of N62/N63 is chainguides and oil service valves.

      @@1984AP Haven't tested them yet, but washer fluid leaking out from some broken connection. A few jets on driver side are missing, so pieces need to be replaced. It has 139,XXX miles two owners. Last owner was long time owner 20+ years, a surgeon in NYC. No records, they were all pulled. I have found that a lot of long time owners of expensive cars don't want their info passed on to future owners. It is unfortunate. There are a few small spots of rust, overall though very minimal for a New York car.

      @@BIMMERZEITT My Washer Fluid was leaking from a junction-box behind the front bumper where various hoses are for the washers. The end-caps for nozzles can't be ordered separately - requires new nozzle units. 139K - looks like it has less than 70K - especially the interior. Makes sense about the records - sad. When Covid improves, let me know if you would be interested in doing a photo/video shoot. My car looks VERY similar (same color combo) but in E34 form. Will be installing my snows, on the same type of wheels your 735iL has. They'd be like clones.

    I purchased a 750iL, V12, was a pain in the ass, expensive parts and the rear shocks cost a fortune. Ended up selling it on. Good luck.

      Ah yes the v12 is a different beast. This car has a very basic m30 6 cylinder. So far I have found the maintenance parts to be dirt cheap. $9 filters, $50 brake rotors, $30 for set of spark plugs and so on. Of course the 750 has two of everything! Two sets of plugs, two AFM’s, two ECU’s... and so on!!

      @@BIMMERZEITT Nice, sounds like a good compromise for sure. Mine sounded like a bottomless pit so decided to sell it.
      I did love the old school looks and space, it was an eye catcher of a car.
      Good luck with it :-)

      @@statyisgod Thanks Chuck. I hear you though, a lot of these BMW's end up being money pits. I try to bring my cars to a happy 80% condition, trying to take them all the way to perfect 100% would lead to bankruptcy for sure. LOL
