    Definitely the thickness makes a difference. I watched a scientific review of techniques for cell creativity, and in the end, viscocity was the key. Love your videos.

      Loved this video. I like the way the water mixed cell activator makes the cells and lacing different. Shapes, sizes and the colors just different. I have found that when using water, you will get more reaction the more you stretch out the paint. That will also get you cells that look kinda like brains and tiny flowers lol!! You can also get really cool pearl cells in different colors with water.

    A great test, and informative.
    I did notice, that the first swipe using Aus. Floeteol, you forgot to torch initially.
    Which you mentioned. I always find, the warmth from torching helps to encourage cells, besides popping air bubbles.
    It sort of has a dual purpose. Personally, I am not a huge fan if too many cells, the piece can get a bit busy.
    Having said that, I live in Africa, the distances to Aust and the USA, being half way across the world.
    I pay a fortune for Aussie Floetrol, far too expensive for me.
    I thank you sincerely, for this exciting revelation, which you have taken the time to share with all of us.

    I am hoping you do a puddle swipe test with these 2 ca recipes. I don't do house paint base blooms or swipes but I do like to pour puddles of regular mixed paint then swipe and tilt. I'm finding that, although just amsterdam paint and water produces cells and lacing, it doesn't stay defined, it sinks and disappears mostly. I'm wondering if I add a little glue or gloss medium or gel if it'll stay better. I guess I'll have to just try it. I did try a blown out bloom over house paint base which did work and the cells held up but I rarely do those

    • @AnnaBlountArt
      @AnnaBlountArt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well as you saw, my black and pink side was a “regular” paint mix. Yes I did use house paint in the pillow but you totally don’t have to. If you look through my videos you’ll see several that don’t use the “bloom” recipe!

    I enjoyed your video but I wanted to let you know to never torch house paint not only is it flammable it can also cause a film and ruin the entire painting also to keep more consistent cells when swiping just slow down a bit and try to keep even pressure when moving. Sorry if I come across judgemental I actually teach fluid art and just wanted to keep you safe only torch floetrol based paints Hun if you use house paint you need to pick up your piece and drop it a few times to pop some of the bubbles also if you decant into plastic containers this will help remove bubbles too

      Thanks for the tip! But I have never had a film develop from torching so I think I’m doing it gently enough.

      @@AnnaBlountArt just be careful if you're going to continue to do it because again the house paint recipe is flammable and if someone is following what you are doing and they aren't in a well ventilated area the fumes alone could catch fire and they could get hurt so I strongly suggest against the torch idea I know it makes removing bubbles easier but it's not worth catching yourself or your home/studio on fire so please be careful and atleast keep a fire extinguisher close by Incase the worse does happen and if you are having bubble issues I have a great low cost house paint recipe and I get absolutely zero bubbles but I do decant all my supplies into plastic containers for atleast 24 hrs before using them as well. Again I'm just looking out for your safety and those who follow you as well

    You mixed up your flow paints you have in middle of table. Please be consistant. I am trying to learn , then you throw me a curve.

      Hi Cynthia, yes other people have pointed this out to me. Since it was the secondary swipe and mostly got tilted off the edge, it didn’t end up making a difference. Best of luck as you learn…

    I got to admit I get pretty tired of seeing all these videos where you don't need this you don't need that just try this just try that and it has me going around from 90 different things and none of them ever work because you leave out steps.

      I’m sorry for the frustration! What steps do you think I left out? I have videos on paint mixing if you’re not sure how I did that part…
