The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Boy, how did they come up with that medley? Hard to top!
As just one example, Mary Wilson, in her books about The Supremes, wrote about the "special production numbers" that Sullivan's creative staff would come up with occasionally for certain acts. (One good example for that group was the Fats Waller songs medley in March '68, also on TH-cam.) I suspect then that this medley resulted from a collaboration between that group of the Sullivan staff and these three artists.
Three highly talented and classy singers. Really good songs.
Three artists who appeared so often on ES that they decided to come together just for the fun of it. And they certainly looked like they were having a blast, as I'm sure the audience was as well.
I love everything about this medley, right down to their respective attire! Such an unlikely combo having a great time.
Sergio was one lucky guy, being sandwiched between those two talented and lovely ladies!
Thanks for posting this!
Peggy Lee’s voice is like fresh morning dew.
👍😃👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
💖
This was great and this was around the time that NANCY SINATRA was really hitting the charts with records like THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKIN', SUGAR TOWN, SOMETHING STUPID and SUMMER WINE, among others.
Fun to hear them sing the other's hits, and right next to each other.🙂
Love Nancy 💞
This was back when tv had respect for the viewer and only offered quality entertainment.
Btw talking about quality OMG that image quality is perfect 💯
Certainly a fascinating combination; thanks in advance for this! Would also love to see Sergio sing "Time Alone Will Tell" on this episode. Thank you for all the great videos!
Nancy did an excellent job on Peggy Lee's song. She was underrated.
Yes she was very cute...but she needed a lot of Takes on the James Bond Movie Theme "You Only Live Twice" ...a lot of Takes happened to keep the Final Song all together for the Sound-Engineer and for the 45rpm Release 😉
Wow...what a trio
I love cool swingin good ol' times with style👌Nancy looks like...*Woww* ⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️
I'd pay BIG BUCKS to hear Peggy Lee sing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video of these 3 legendary singers, especially the way that they were sharing each other's signature songs!
Thank you for a video with two of my favorite female singers. Back when women did not sing dog whistle high notes or naselly stretched out a note to the next stanza
Nancy looking so groovy!😘
Bravo!!!! Bravíssimo!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😃
we still love Nancy
What a time🎶♥️♥️♥️
Love these three wonderful singers 🎤🎵🎶. Hope they bring beautiful memories for you too.🥰🎶🙏🍷
Amazing 😲
So cute, so clever, so classy, and above all, SO MUCH FUN. It may be dated, but it is also utterly timeless. I hate to be one of those It-was-all-so-much-better-in-my-day old farts - but it WAS. Thank you for posting this wonderful clip.
Iconic 🥰
Músicas, compostas e interpretadas, com amor!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

Yep, real class. So smooth.
1:27 was a treat

This is fabulous
Nancy's so smokin she was great in Wild Angels
The Milord bit was wonderful. Sergio was quite handsome. When Peggy wasn't singing, she seemed to be on another planet. Nancy was fine.
100% agreed. That sudden little segue into Edith Piaf was a perfect surprising addition. The entire arrangement and delivery was divine. Been watching it over and over for months.
I wonder if Sultry Peggy and Dashing Sergio "Got A Room" afterwards. LOL
Perfecto 👌😍😍😍
Very nice.
I want this in my veins
Sergio certainly has his favorite.😂

Lindo,lindo lindo
The song "Buon Natale" from Sergio
Franchi's The Heart of Christmas album was a favorite Christmas tradition we had with
our Italian grandparents. Finding this video was great. Excellent singers and a fun medley of songs.
❤😊
I kept waiting to hear Nancy break out with "Volare '
Any more please
Nancy looks like Mae West in that wig!
😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Nancy's wig 😮 real housewives of Atlanta
How about showing Frank Sinatra from June of 1964 singing, "My Kind of Town"?
Seems to me Sergio “really” does have a favorite (Peggy Lee)
Peggy Lee sounds terrific here....why Nancy is there is anyone's guess,,,,and Sergio....is a decent background for Peggy
Nancy along with appearances on the show had a #1 hit in ‘67.
I surmise by your questioning her inclusion that you don’t consider her an accomplished singer.
I agree...
Peggy Lee was a great singer, but Sergio Franchi was also great. By no means a background singer.
What song is Peggy singing?
.
888th "like" :)
What italian song peggy lee sings ?
Al di La
Peggy Lee slayed the "I Concentrate on You" song...
Imagine, a woman who cannot sing with two great singers.
